Won the league on goal difference! Nearly threw it all away by losing 4-1 against Cardiff on the last day, but thankfully that one goal scored tipped the GD in my favour. :D

Finished 5th. Lost out on 4th on goal difference in 3rd season with Wigan. Making steady profit each month.

Fml. Been following a chap called Martin Caceres who's an incredibly well rounded defender (FM12) who can play centrally or on either side making him triply useful, but I could only watch helplessly as moneybags Newcastle put in an offer I couldn't match. A week later the board give me £15mil out of the blue which would have seen me comfortably signing him. :frusty:

Good players to sign with Leicester on the update. Suggestions please?

I'm playing 2012 so they may not be as good, or may be less affordable, but James Forrest (Celtic), Adam Clayton (Leeds), Shaun Cummings (Reading) and Kenny McLean (St Mirren) all played key roles in my promotion push.

Made the ultimate error! Rejected £10million for my left back, and now he's been 'approached to sign' by Athletico Madrid. Joining them in the summer for free!

Signed Kurt Zouma for 25 mil 4 seasons in! He had a great debut, scoring 2, his rating was 9.4/10

September 3rd! He gets injured (Damaged Cruciate Ligaments) and is now out for 9 months :/

^^^^ Sucks. I've put a bid in for him, I should apparently be able to get him for around £5m.

Addendum to my recommended players on the previous page:

Kenny McLean, who I signed for £925k last season in-game (and who went on to play 44 matches, scoring 9 goals and setting up 18), is now worth £5.25m after only 9 games and 5 assists in the prem.

Edit: I've just realised that might be because he has a minimum fee release clause of... £5.25m.

Edit to the edit: That fee sounded like chicken scratch should any big club come sniffing, I've upped the lad's pay by 6k/w and he's dropped the clause. Still valued at 5.35m, how does the valuing system work anyway? Zouma came for 2.7 up front and 2.5 over 48 months btw, cheers for the tip-off.

On my third season in march, 6 of my starting 11 were out for 3+ months, I had to change my formation and tactics and just managed to stay in the Europa league places

Bernard has a 10 mil release clause in his contract and he won't accept another :( PSG and Chelsea want him!

I honestly don't know how I'd cope with 6 key players out right now. Sounds like you had a decent enough squad though if you were still able to compete for Europe!

Who's this Bernard fellow? I typed his name into the search bar and about a million results popped up... I've just tied up Dries Mertens for 3.7 up front(with 6.5 to follow/48 months + 10% sell-on profit) and I still have a tad over 10 mill to spend(not accounting for the soon-to-be-increased wage bill mind, so it'll probably end up as a tad under 10 mill), so I'm all ears for any potential coups.

He's a beast!

I play him on the wing as an inside forward, he scored 18 last season and set up 23

Also, get Luke Shaw (Southampton) Will Hughes, Mason Bennett (Both Derby) Carlos Fierro (cost me 5 mil in my second season)

I have finally got into this game properly. Got sacked as Bremen after coming 10th. I was a bit surprised but to be fair, it was more realistic (although an improvement on both last season and this season in real life).

Gave Leicester another go and thought of a way I could utilise most of our players.

I decided I would go for 3 at the back. It's technically classed as a 5-3-2 as I use wing backs, but this was my side;

Schmeichel

Keane - Tate - Morgan

De Laet ----------------------- Briggs

King - Abdou

Knockaert

Wood - Nugent

I wanted to have a system that utilised our best players. One where I could use Nugent & Wood as a pairing, where I could play Knockaert just behind them, and where I could make the most of De Laet to provide width and I came up with that. I'd never really tried three at the back before but thought I'd go for two gritty defenders (Morgan/Keane) and one to almost orchestrate it, to play almost a sweeper role. I found Tate's attributes to be ideal for it so nabbed him on a cheap season long loan. I didn't fancy Konchesky at left back due to his declining attributes and I wanted him out due to his obscene wages. In came Briggs who'd always been reliable even in my shit careers.

I'd never really tried a ball-winner before. A lot think we lack a ball-winner and I do agree, you could get away with having all guns blazing on FM11 but not here it seemed. In came Nadjim Adbou from Millwall for £1mil, he'd do the trick, he was excellent. Other than that I brought in a lot of cheap frees. Lamine Diatta, David Suazo, Vincent Briant, Papa Bouba Diop, they never ever seemed to disappoint, even a 37 year old Diatta played well at wing back lol something isn't right there. In January I bought Gyorgy Garics from Bologna for £1.4mil as I was frankly sick of De Laet's pathetic discipline. He's been sent off 5 times for me, all 5 for two yellows too, the tit. George Elokobi also came in for £250k as back-up, Konchesky went to Hull for the same fee, £30k off the wage bill, delighted there.

Won the Championship with 82 points, a very low total for a title but it was refreshing to think I'd finally got the hang on the game and finally had decided I liked it (convenient, eh?). The summer flew by to my pleasure and I was lining up a lot of potential signings, I knew it'd be harder than on 11 but I'm sure there'd be money to get a couple of players in, I'm sure I'd land at least £10mil or something, I know we're in the shit as far as wages go but the TV revenue really was insane. I received under £4mil, FOUR MILLION. I've instantly become certain of relegation.

However it's gone surprisingly well. I had to start by clearing out. The four free agents I got all left the club, all had proven good value but they'd have been pathetically out of their depth in the top flight. Waghorn was sold to Watford, Gallagher & St Ledger sold to Peterborough, Beckford loaned to Palace, Danns to MK Dons, Wellens to Crawley. Basically I didn't want any of them near us, I'm paying wages for every one of them still, not all, but I cannot wait for 30/6/2014 - the day every one of the cvnts contracts expire. If I stayed up I'd be absolutely laughing really. I brought in David Lomban from Barca B (bit of FIFA knowledge comes in handy), Tommaso Bianchi from Sassuolo, Scott Wootton, Sam Johnstone & Marcelo Estigarribia on frees and back came Briggs on loan (from Fulham who we've actually swapped leagues with), Angelo Henriquez on loan and Alan Tate for £1.8mil, a gamble but it's paid off.

My first choice side now is;

Schmeichel

Lomban - Tate - Morgan

Garics ----------------------- Estigarribia

King - Bianchi

Knockaert

Henriquez - Nugent

A slow start, but after 13 games we sit 12th which I'm delighted with. Collected a win at Everton, a win at home to Spurs and draws against Chelsea & Man City. Henriquez is the leagues top scorer and Tate's even better than last year lol

I've waffled on a silly amount. Yes Finners, I was being a baby, it's a far more realistic game than FM11.

Anybody ever signed the Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini? Absolute beast for my LCFC team in season 4 (2015-16). The complete striker.

My team at present:

GK: Fraser Forster

RB: Nathaniel Clyne

LB: Jose Angel

CB: Kara

CB: Martin Kelly

MR: Anthony Knockaert

ML: Marcelo Estigarribia

CM: Jack Cork ©

CM: James Milner

AMC: Wayne Rooney :D

ST: Manolo Gabbiadini

Sitting in the top 4 in January. Not sure how long I can stay there due to key player injuries.

Won the FA Cup last season beating Chelsea in the final, 2 goals from Charlie Austin.

I had Manolo Gabs, was quality. Eventually sold him to Man City as I had better regens but he undoubtedly becomes world class.

Destro, Caprari, Insigne, Verratti, etc all become awesome. Italy would be one of the best nations to manage on the game imo.

Will have to check those other Italians out on my game.

You've got Estigarribia in a top four side?!

He really is a steal lol free transfer and wages of £2,600 a week. Unbelievable.

Have any of you signed Neal Maupay before? Surely he becomes one of the best forwards of all time?

Not 2013 related, but I remember on one of the old games, (maybe 09). I played an online game with a mate when I was 15 or so, and his name on the game was Steve Scrotum. He managed Rangers and Pedro Mendes blamed him for their defeat to Aberdeen. The headline read "Mendes points finger at Scrotum" lol. Stupid, but I still laugh every time

Estigarribia is still great for me at 28 years old. He was my first signing on a free when I got promoted. He is injured for a while at the minute so I've signed Ashley Young on loan from United. I like pacey wide players who can cross a ball.

I shouldn't really be in the top 4, definitely punching above my weight. :) Expected to finish about 10th.

Will check out Neal Maupay. Never heard of him before.

Dunno how good he is on 2013, but Wilfried Bony is an absolute tank going off his stats - I'll be able to tell you how good he is when Jan swings around.

I can't figure out how to do a screenshot (prtscn refuses to capture the game and just gives me whatever else is open), so here are his arduously typed out stats:
