Oadby Fox Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has to make amends for the sale of fans' favourite Sol Bamba. Cliff Ginnetta, the chairman of the Official Supporters' Club, said Bamba had been a popular figure amongst City fans. http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-16438786-detail/story.html Thoughts!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Most disappointing departure since Frank Worthington? I know he is quoting someone else but what a ridiculous statement to include Another pathetic article from the LM
Deucalion Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 We need some real news. Poor effort from the Mercury to create a story though.
davieG Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Most disappointing Mercury article since the last Ginetta one on Wednesday http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/City-need-hit-ground-running/story-16420026-detail/story.html
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Can't believe the Mercury are making any comparison between Sol Fookin Bamba and Frank Worthington!
Craig Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 I take Bernie's opinion more seriously than that muppet's.
FrankieADZ Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 is it me, but at times i find Cliff Ginnetta pretty annoying. yeah it was annoying to sell Sol, but we have made a profit on him and he might well have been a high earner at the club. jeez he certainly DONT represent my views on Club matters.
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 NP hasn't got to make amends for anything. The players have. Stupid article written by a numpty.
foxesfan1989 Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 I think people are overreacting a bit here, not much I disagree with in that article and the Worthington comparison is quoting someone else.
jimmer Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 We still have Steve Walsh? agree awful article.....cringeworthy infact. ps....yes I realise we have a steve walsh at the club!!
Corky Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 I take Bernie's opinion more seriously than that muppet's. And so you should.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 he certainly DONT represent my views on Club matters. He doesn't represent anyone's views...apart from a small band of utter muppets mate.
Leicester_Numan Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Sometimes I wonder exactly who Cliff speaks for. He certainly never represented the views of anyone I knew when I was in the supporters club. Can't believe he's saying Bamba gets people out of their seats because he's an exciting player. No Cliff, thousands of hands clasped to faces and exclamations of "wtf is he doing?" is not excitement. As for comparing it to the loss of Frankie, what a complete joke. Nice guy but no loss
MauriceJobson Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Also, exactly when did Steve Walsh bring the ball out of defence taking people on Cliff?
Mark_w Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 He won us League One and got us to 5th in the Championship, yet his return was met with mixed feelings from some of our fans, he doesn't owe us a ****ing thing!
Captain... Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 What a load of balls, I think Pearson has made enough good decisions at the club to allow one unpopular 1. The manager does not have to justify selling players, dropping players, or anything else to the fans, except results. Bamba is a quality, athletic and talented footballer but his greatest weakness was one that we can not afford if we want to get out the championship.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 it's pathetic..... but I do see where they are coming from being fans favourite
flowwolf Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 Can't believe the Mercury are making any comparison between Sol Fookin Bamba and Frank Worthington! They didn't that idiot Cliff Ginnetta did. I have never understood why the Mercury turn to people like him for a opinion, like he represents what the fans think ? They would be better off asking us what we think on here. On second thoughts perhaps not !
Jimmy Posted 23 June 2012 Posted 23 June 2012 selling a popular player is always risky for a manager as if the replacement is poor then the fans will already but angry about the deals. As for Ginetta, he's chairman of the supporters club and the Mercury seems to think that's a big deal but I bet its a very small percentage of fans that are members of it
