thewarmanator Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Still stand by my point - Konchesky was the only player that had a real engine consistently Hmmm not for the first few matches and notably forest away although for me he was our most consistent player. If I was the manager and had 2 similar players in the same position where one makes the test and another doesn't I know what impression it would make on me... However we don't at present but it doesn't look great from NPs view
Jace Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Some might argue a week holiday in the summer off from training hard all year could actually help fitness levels and fatigue
thewarmanator Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Some might argue a week holiday in the summer off from training hard all year could actually help fitness levels and fatigue I agree with that, I'm just pointing out that if you have 1 left back cancel a holiday to attend and another that doesn't it might cause problems. And a weeks holiday, they returned for 1 day and are off again for another week

Guest Col city fan Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 I can't believe that certain folk are suggesting Konchesky didn't look fit and have an engine last season. I thought he looked like one of the fittest players in the squad! So did the missis apparently... She likes his 'eyes' or summat... Bloody women...

Guest Col city fan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 What did it for you Col his shaved head? I always think he looks like 'Captain Scarlet'
Jace Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I always think he looks like 'Captain Scarlet' Lmao I see the resemblance, I used to think he was Polish or East European
MrSpaM Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 So you know f---k all on here Didnt realise Bentleys had hired vigilantes now!
kylestyle06 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Didnt realise Bentleys had hired vigilantes now! Well, he's actually a relation to Paul Gallagher IIRC
Guest parky0607 Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 So you know f---k all on here 1. Bit harsh, whether we know info or not, were all on here for a good old debate... theres nothing wrong with that? 2. You spelt the f-bomb wrong
dave_the_fox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Well, he's actually a relation to Paul Gallagher IIRC Correct, Father-in-law.
Jimmy Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Konch was pretty good but if he was sold and we replaced him with someone like Greg Cunningham I don't think there would be too much difference and Cunningham's upside is higher now and he'd be on less money which under FFP would come into it
lestajigs Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Behind kasper and nugent he was our player of the season
Fox 4 Life Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 Paul konchesky @konch3 Fitness test done, gym session done now time to rest up to go again #preseason Can we lock this up now?!
Jace Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 He booked his holidays late incase Roy gave him a call up for the Euros
Burmesefox Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 Behind kasper and nugent he was our player of the season IMHO he was way ahead of Nuge. Nuge had a poor end to the season, whereas, Konch was consistant all the way
Bugg Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 Konch was pretty good but if he was sold and we replaced him with someone like Greg Cunningham I don't think there would be too much difference and Cunningham's upside is higher now and he'd be on less money which under FFP would come into it Cunningham wasn't even that good, I can remember many people on here saying how he was nothing special before he broke his leg, the leg break seemed to make everyone appear to change their opinion of him and make out like he was the next Ashley Cole when he was really just an average left back. He didn't really pull up any trees at Forest either the season just gone.
Jimmy Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 saying he played averagely for Forest isn't saying much given how shit the were last season
Danno Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 Cunningham Was an average defend was decent going forward though. What happened to Van Aanholt?
Corky Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 Cunningham Was an average defend was decent going forward though. What happened to Van Aanholt? Went back to Chelsea. Hopefully never to return to Leicester again.
