MGLCFC Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 For the essential position, surely you need an open minded woman - sorry couldn't resist Seriously, a play maker in midfield e.g. Robert Koren

I would add that we need a winger as well as a CM and a CF.

ealingfox Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 We need a CB who consistently stops the other team from scoring, a midfielder who can both help the defence and create chances for our attackers, and a striker who consistently finishes the chances created. foxoffderby Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 What position is most essential: Goalkeeper What position are we in most need of: Centre Midfield Disagree I think Kasper will play virtully every game. Pearson proved that last season when he decided not to have a keeper on the bench. Hasen't Logan signed?? Although I think his bum will be sat down on the bench most of the time. CM is not an essential its a luxury. We have Danns Drinkwater James King and Wellens waiting in the wings as back up

dpjfox Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 weve just sold 2 centre backs, obviously replacing them with a competant centre back must be NP's top priority, hopefully his no1 target Chesters, if not we could have a changing back 4 again, imo the managers prefferredback 4 needs to be sorted at an early stage and given time to gel/ get familiar/get organised

foxoffderby Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 You disagree that a goalkeeper is the most essential position on the pitch? I never said that Kasper is our No 1 and one of the best keepers outside the top flight and if it was my choice he would also be capo. If fit he will play every game next season. Other areas of the team need improving before GK

If fit he will play every game next season. Other areas of the team need improving before GK I dont think JACE was saying it was essential to improve GK at all, though. That's why he put in the second line about us being in need of CM. Goalkeeper, in general, IS the most essential position on the pitch (JACE's point). However, it's one of the positions which (thankfully) isn't essential for us to improve, and I don't think anybody is disputing that...

Raw Dykes Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 We do need another centre-half now that Bamba, Mills and Tunchev have gone, maybe even two. I'd go for one for the 1st team, and then one for the future. A target man for the bench would be my next priority. After that, I think one more winger, or a specialist CAM or defensive midfielder, and I'd be happy with the squad.
Fox42 Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 Why is everyone saying CM? we have James who could play as a DM and a CB and is known to help the defence and also creates chances to strikers and his long pass accuracy is outstanding. We need a CB but as a back-up. I can see Morgan and SSL gelling nicely and performed very well at Norwich so I have no doubts of that partnership from bring one of the best or THE best of the league. Possibly a RWM. I have stressed many times about signing Alan Judge. He is a more consistent player in terms of dead ball situations than most of our current players and shoots from long range quite accurately. He can also play as a CAM and shift Marshall to the LWM which he can play from that position and all his Leicester goals have come from the left and cut in centre mid and Judge is the exact opposite and most of his County goals have come from cutting in from the right. No more midfielders and strikers, please.
Leicester_Numan Posted 10 July 2012 Share Posted 10 July 2012 I think defensive midfielder and target man are as vital as each other but I went for target man as I believe our problems all stem from failing to hold the ball up front. We lose it and it just keeps coming straight back at us all the time. Our strikers are also all too similar for my liking. They're all second strikers that would be better alongside a big man up front. I can see why most people voted central defence though as we only have 2 at the moment and some people think that's where our defensive problems stem from
