hbkkids Posted 21 July 2012 Share Posted 21 July 2012 Hi. This is going to be my first long distance away game and I am going on fox travel to the ground? Can someone tell me is it safe? E.g drop you outside away end and pick up at same point. Just don't want to go Blackburn and get lost. Please reply if you use fox travel and know about it. Many thanks

They line up all the local rapists, murders and paedos and you have to run the gauntlet en masse to the turnstiles without getting caught. It's a frightening experience!!! On a serious note, they normally park/drop you right outside the ground and the buses get a police escort in and out of the place. They only negative about Fox Travel is some of the clientele are a bit funny!!! You normally arrive ages before as well.
Fox92 Posted 21 July 2012 Share Posted 21 July 2012 You can't miss a load of buses lined up outside a building. You'll be suspicious when you see a massive Swiss Roll parked outside Ewood Park. I've been to Blackburn once (2003/04 ) and only been on FoxTravel once (2005/06) so I'm not a great person to answer this question, but I highly doubt you will get lost. Don't be scared either, you'll be fine. It's not as if you're going to walk around Blackburn's centre with the full Leicester kit on, is it? Jagdinho Posted 21 July 2012 Share Posted 21 July 2012 Its safe, been going on it for a few years now. Never been a spot of trouble, always drop you right outside the ground but as Marko says you could be there an hour and half before kick off. Anywhere more than 2 hours away they usually have a 45 minute stop at a service station but I wouldn't advise relying on it to get food as its ridiculously expensive. No alcohol either, other than that its all good.

Fox92 Posted 21 July 2012 Share Posted 21 July 2012 Will 14 years old need to fill in a medical form? No.. I was about your age when I went to a game with FoxTravel and it was all ok. Just got on the bus and off again, no medical forms required.

They only negative about Fox Travel is some of the clientele are a bit funny!!! You normally arrive ages before as well. I agree with clientele being funny, experienced that every time i've been on Fox Travel, very cliquey, so much so I actually got asked to move from where I was sitting as the person who asked me to move said 'We sit here, normally'. I disagree with arriving ages before though - I've never arrived early enough to find a good boozer and have a good drink, the fact you can't drink on the coach adds insult to injury - A few pre-mixed vodka and cokes haven't stopped that though. I've stopped using Fox Travel due to these reasons and other reasons - I'd only use Fox Travel as a last resort.

Agree that the people are a little odd and wouldn't use it again unless I had to. However we got there at 6 for a 7.45 kick off
Maybes Posted 21 July 2012 Share Posted 21 July 2012 You will arrive about 1pm. Probably leave at 9-9.30am. Fox Travel clientele is very clicky. If you sit in one of their usual seats, expect to have a filbert the fox teddy flying towards you.

Foxy Bingo Posted 23 July 2012 Share Posted 23 July 2012 Safest thing going mate. I go to most away games on Fox Travel because it's the most convenient option for me and never had a problem. My first without an adult was Southend away and I was only 13 so don't worry

Chairman of the Bored Posted 25 July 2012 Share Posted 25 July 2012 Don't get dragged into one of them grimey textile factories they have up north, you could be making romper suits for years. Best to stay in Leicester and make socks instead.
