K1FOX Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I'd love to see a video of what it was like after the game. Was much better at that point. But thanks for uploading. I've got a video of that Aswell mate, will upload soon
Smudge Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Sometimes I wonder what MooseBreath is on all the time. Milk of Magnesia, it's good for getting the wind up
dmayne7 Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 This is Bang on i would not even sell him for £15m he is as good as Tarrat from QPR and i beleive will be even better the longer he stays with us. SO PREM CLUBS FIND YOUR OWN. He is MUCH better than Taarabt. He works hard in both attack and defence and his decision making is a lot better. The season when QPR got promoted, I think that King was a better player than Taarabt because he contributed more to the team effort and scored a similar amount of goals. Taarabt is as much of a hindrance as he is a Wizard and whilst Knocky has his faults, he still isn't a liability to the team.

onecapwonder Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Knockaert obviously has the skill and flair, but sometimes shows too much of it. I went yesterday and after he'd skinned two players, and had an opportunity to shoot/square it, he decided to try a 360 turn, and was quickly taken down by fairly the keeper. For a young player that has been in the English game for such a short time he's done exceptional, and I think he has the quality to be right up there at Newcastle and Liverpool, but first we need Pearson to help him calm it down a bit. A quality player who just needs a little restriction to become the top of his game. I saw this and have to disagree with you, the 360 turn was the correct thing for him to try because the shot was on his right foot and at a very tight angle. Knockaert has a lot of things in his locker but he doesn't seem to be particularly confident when using his right foot, given this the 360 would have but him on his left foot with a huge area of the goal at the far post to aim at, it was the correct decision in that respect and it almost worked. We have to acknowledge that Knockaert knows his own game and abilities better than we do thus if he tries something like this, or the drag back and shot with his left foot when he should have socred near the end of the match, its because he thinks it has the best chance of achieving what he wants to do. Watching him live for the first time yesterday I was very impressed, offensively he is excellent, the time and space he gets in this league compared to our other players tells you about his ability and he uses the free role that Pearson gave him very well, he regularly moved to the centre, drifted deeper in the second half when he moved into a no 10 role, and popped up on the left at times in the first half to overload the flank with Dyer. He also seemed pretty commited to tracking back and although at times his defending wasn't very effective he certainly put the effort in. One problem we might have with him playing as a nominal right winger is that he moves about so much that it leaves a lot space on that flank, this shouldn't be a problem defensively, one of the central midfielders (generally DD) should cover because they know Knockaert has a free role. However, offensively it creates a large pocket of space on the right and with Moore or De Leat playing we don't really have a full back to exploit this, neither seem particularly keen to get forward and when they do it tends to be full back play by numbers, i.e run until you come up against a challenge, stop before it and whip in an average cross, nothing wrong with that if you aren't an attacking fullback but if Knochesky was on the right I think this space would be much better utilised. Overall he seems to be a real find, I can't think of any player I've seen turning out for us or the opposition that looks as superior to everyone else on the pitch as he did yesterday, maybe Kyle Naughton or Wes Hoolahan, but beyond those two I'm struggling. It would be excellent to keep him but unless we get promoted next year I can't see a club not coming in for him, he has more talent and potential than most Premier League youngsters I've seen on loan in this divison and a lot of then, Ramsey, Cleverly, Naughton, Mchecran (not that hes as good as everyone seems to think) e.t.c should have bright futures in the PL.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 To even contemplate selling this lad at any time this season would be crackers! For about 75 million reasons.

MattyFromLE Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 At first I thought it sounded like "Tony Knockaert, Anthony Knockaert..." - sounded wicked, and original. I'm loving these new songs! L1 were on form on Saturday.
Jagdinho Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 How shoould his name be pronounced then? Ker-knock-art
ealingfox Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Ker-knock-art Well can't we just allow for a tiny bit of poetic licence? Plus on the pronunciation, I asked my flatmate (who is French) how he would pronounce it, and after saying its a really obscure surname that he's never seen before, he suggested the T should be silent, and the first syllable Ka- rather than Ker-.

I understand your criticisms of him but at this level he was winning some games on his own. He doesn't do anything defensively but he's not really supposed to, he's an attacking creative midfielder. And lets not forget, King has had plenty of games where he's gone missing, hence his nickname. Even in that season he had a few really good months but showed his old self either side of that period. Taarabt tore the championship to pieces for most of that season and I don't think QPR would have gone up without him.

Taarabt tore the championship to pieces for most of that season and I don't think QPR would have gone up without him. Taarabt is more gifted of course BUT the point I am making is that King is a more balanced player contributing more to the overall team performance. Taarabt was the hub of everything QPR did so obviously he was going to score lots of goals so the fact that he only got a couple more than King in a team that finished 9 places above us shows that he wasn't as consistent as everybody made out. King has and never will be the playmaker in our team so not everything will go through him so his influence on the game is likely to be less that Taarabt's so matching him in the stats says a lot about how he performed. I agree that without Taarabt QPR wouldn't have got promoted but where would we have finished without King? I don't agree with the King goes missing theory; he is unspectacular in what he does which is why that perception of him exists. Anyway, that is all in the past and the point I was making is that I think Knockaert has a lot more to offer than Taarabt because he isn't as much a luxury player but has as much ability.
BstarFox Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 Anyone got a video of how he celebrated after the bristol game? Was quality he's got so much passion <3 him
