EnderbyFox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Just interested to see. I'd say i'm in a minority, I was much more confident last season before the campaign begun Look where that got us eh.. Are you more confident of achieving promotion this year?
Guest MattP Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 More, never liked Sven from the start and always said you couldn't throw money at things and expect success.
Grewks Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 more. Squad will work hard. The manager will work hard. The fans will respond to this, and will result in the best atmosphere we have had for years.
marty78 Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 More, as I think Pearson has a better grasp of Championship football than Sven.
Fox42 Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Not gonna lie, after all the hype, big names, expectations of last season I cannot be more confident than I was last season. So same confidence it is then.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Less confident than last season (although I never believed the buying the league hype I thought we'd at least make the play-offs), but only because of the lessons learned from last season. The quiet confidence of someone that has been fooled too many times by mass-hype and expectation.
Harry - LCFC Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I'm less confident than I was season. I must admit I did partly believe the hype and genuinely thought top 4 was definitely going to happen. This season I don't know, I strongly believe we'll do better than last time out but not sure where in the top third we'll finish
foxesfan1989 Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I'm less confident than I was this time last season. I had us down for automatics last season but i'll be overjoyed with playoff this year. This is not a bad thing either, I have learnt lessons from last season about over-confidence. This is a tough tough league.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 More, was not confident last season despite my optimistic nature. Squad feels varied and threatening with injection of blistering pace, tenacity and raw talent!
Manc Fox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Feel more confident this season as we're gonna win the league!!
Foxfromburbage Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Nothing against NP or his team. Last years expectation was at an all time high due to all the hype and circus activities.
MattyFromLE Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Extremely doubtful we will do well. Based on...?
indierich06 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Based on...? The fact that he's a mardy arse who hates Pearson.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 More, purely based on the fact I think Pearson knows how to build a championship team better than sven.
GLC Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 More confident, We've managed to keep hold of 4 of the better performers from last season, Kasper, Nugent, Marshall & Konchesky. We've also added strength to the back line in Whitbread and De Laet, Signed what looks like a decent winger in Knockaert and added an unproven but exciting striker in Vardy. Yeah we had a stronger team last year, but let's face it i'd rather have a team of decent players who'll play for each other over good players who don't gel and get paid way to much
Carter The Boss Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 More this season that last. I started off last pre-season ridiculously excited, but did get a bit worried the closer we got to the season starting. This year NP has added to the squad where we needed to, trimmed the fat where we had too much, and bought in some young pacey players. The 'strong' team we had last year were permanently hyped up and couldn't come up with the goods, versus someone like Reading or Southampton who quietly went about their business, and they went up while we struggled against teams we should have been pounding, partly because everyone, including the players, believed their own hype and thought we would walk the league. Different mentality this season, and I cannot wait to see it in action. BRING IT ON!
Fox92 Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 I'm more confident. Went into last season knowing we had an unbalanced side, only one natural winger (Dyer). It's more balanced this year, we should be better in defence and we have a smaller squad. Pleased with everything we've done so far. I have more confidence in Nigel Pearson than I ever was with Sven in charge.
gingerlcfc Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 more now we have 2 brillant wingers 3 great strickers and we have kasper who is amazing and we kept hold of konch think is looking good. UP THE CITY :scarf:
Deucalion Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 I've voted less confident not because I think we are worse this year, but because I was sucked in by the hype last season. There were reasons to be confident last season though. Apart from all the money spent, Sven had created an attacking and fluid team the season before which had charged from bottom of the table to the fringe of the play-offs. We probably say this about someone every year, but just think what Sven could achieve if he had a summer to prepare? Unfortunately, Sven's purchases could not match up to his loanees and the rest is history. This season, we look like having the makings of a solid defence (when fit), a manageable squad and flair in all forward positions. So I am confident, but it's confidence tempered by a bit of realism.
Babylon Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 I Don't know if I'm more confident, but I feel more excited about the season ahead than I did last year. Can't wait for tomorrow.
Kitchandro Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 More confident, We've managed to keep hold of 4 of the better performers from last season, Kasper, Nugent, Marshall & Konchesky. We've also added strength to the back line in Whitbread and De Laet, Signed what looks like a decent winger in Knockaert and added an unproven but exciting striker in Vardy. Yeah we had a stronger team last year, but let's face it i'd rather have a team of decent players who'll play for each other over good players who don't gel and get paid way to much Did we? I can't think of a player we've lost that I'd rather have kept (maybe Bamba, but he was a liability at times last season). Most of us thought we had a strong team at the start of last season but it became clear it was average. I'm less confident than I was at the start of last season but in hindsight we've probably got a better chance of promotion this season. Having said that, I don't think we'll go up.
