Father Ted Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Pearson's post match comments worry me even more. I think he may be deluded. I can officially confirm this if he starts Gallagher on Saturday.
adam Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 It's because Dyer has been doing it for years and people are fed up. People will turn to him because 1) he's yet again missed a huge chance when it's mattered and 2) because he's blatantly a weak link. It's frustrating to see us fail time and again because we keep playing the same shit players time and again. This, same shit players same shit results
Burmesefox Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 To be fair to Drinkwater he doesn't require multiple touches before playing the ball forward. We are playing in the Championship. Players who never give the ball away won't be playing in this league. I wasnt criticising Drinky or Wellens - just making the observation that those midfielders that take responsibility to turn defence into attack get criticised when they lose out. It's like at my work - some people take responsibility and others hide and wait to point the finger.
Burmesefox Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 I can officially confirm this if he starts Gallagher on Saturday. Gally will not start - no way. if he does I will weep tears of despair
lcfcsnow Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Just seen Kings goal, another class finish hope hes back now.
foxsake123 Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 That's what training and friendlies are for. Vardy looked our brightest striker against boro and I can only presume was looking brighter today also considering he stayed on the pitch over Beckford! err no its called justifying a 1.7 million spend on a non league player. He stayed on the pitch over Becford becuase he was Nigels buy. Or is it the same awful attitude and lack of desire from our own creeping in again, support can win games, we all know that. If we start getting on the teams back now, after this, we can kiss goodbye to promotion. We were unlucky, we will be lucky at some point in the next 44 games! Yeah no amount of drum beating can improve players on a pitch, and neither can it inspire a manager. Anyone would think the management team hadn't seen them both all close season and in training... FFS But oh no, you know more... because you heard the two crappest commentators on the planet on the radio for one game? Right Nope i said all along why are we signing non league garbage.
Babylon Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Just seen Kings goal, another class finish hope hes back now. Trademark King run.

First off he wasn't £1.7m, secondly have you even seen him play? Considering I've seen him twice and he looked better than Beckford both times now?

Are you bitterley disappointed or were you actually waiting in anticipation for our 1st loss of the season!? Get a life pal, you are going to look a very silly boy when we're in contention for promotion come May.
Guest safetosurfthisbeach Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Apart from the most recent recruits, who deserve to be cut a little bit of slack, it's time to stop making excuses for people. Pearson has had more thanenough time.

Considering I've seen him twice and he looked better than Beckford both times now? and we know beckford was crap last season. I wasnt expecting anything to change. Whatever Vardy cost. It was a lot for someone with no experience in this division. I've not seen him play so far. However, we needed someone for this division not a Junior Lewis type who 'might' make it. Bottom line is that he's 25 if he was a kid you might think hes one for the future, and why do we all of a sudden think our scouts have seen something when a, our scouts dont have a great track record and b, he has something which other teams have missed over the past several years ?

Turtles Head Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 I blame Wellens Was funny a few months ago. Move on.

Get a life pal, you are going to look a very silly boy when we're in contention for promotion come May. Yeah, i heard it all before. The last time it was when we were going to Wembley just as soon as we beat Chelsea. I am bitterly disappointed that nothing seems to have changed on the pitch. Either all the players are to blame (yet again???) or its the management? until the blackburn debacle then, goodnight

So you haven't seen him play and Steve Walsh doesn't have a good track record? Hmmmm.
martyn Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Beckford and Vardy both played "ok" this evening. Vardy missed a great chance, Beckford sliced a 20 yard volley miles wide and curled an 18 yarded harmlessly over. Certainly no evidence to favour one over the other if taking this game in isolation.
whitlock Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 If we lose by the same scoreline on Saturday, people will be suicidal. Got to remember these are the first home games for Charlton and Blackburn, always extra tough i think to get results. Home teams will want to start on a positive. Draw would be very doesn't on Sat.

Guest shearfox Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 2 league games!! 1 loss?? Really?? Do people just expect us never to lose all season? HankMarvin Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Anyone actually go? Yes 1st half was terrible Charlton pressed and City were limited to route one Beckford played to deep and looked poor, Marshall was non existent, Drinkwater poor 1st half but look good once King come on, Dyer was like a headless chicken and missed a sitter in the second half. Knockaert looked good when he came on and had a bit of flair about him which was nice to see after such a poor 1st half. De Laet look solid. Charlton looked poor the second half but i guess the job was jone. Could person be giving Beckford a chance to prove himself before the end of the transfer window? I wasnt impressed with his performance although he was chasing down balls
Babylon Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Well we are far too behind the front runners now and only have 44 games to make up the difference. After some of the comments tonight I wasn't sure if you were serious!!!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Yet again I think this makes a good argument for us needing a defensive midfield stopper in the squad. How many times, away from home last season did we hear the words 'the midfield is being overrun'.. Today, we hear it again. Are people again going to say that our defense isn't good enough? Aren't Morgan, DeLaet good enough for instance? Or could it just be that they still are not receiving enough defensive help from the team as a whole? At home it's not such a problem. But if Nigel doesn't sort this problem out, that he inherited from Sven last season, he may well lose his job. We have Blackburn on Saturday. Murphy and Etuhu will run rings around us if the midfield is not up to the challenge. Is James a defensive midfielder? I don't really know.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Not posted all evening - been cleaning the bathroom (seems less effort when listening to the match) - obviously gutted we didn't take a point from that. However - we were what sounded like an inch from completely turning the game around. What's important is when we're behind, we do everything we can to take the game back and we almost achieved it. Almost. Hopefully we will have learnt from today and use it to our advantage on Saturday. A bit off-topic but I was lucky enough to hear an old chump on the phone-in saying Vardy is a conference player and shouldn't be playing, Beckford and Nugent are the best. When asked, it turns out he wasn't at the game, and didn't go to the Peterborough game either. Hasn't even seen Vardy play and already saying he shouldn't play. Penis.
