and we know beckford was crap last season. I wasnt expecting anything to change.

Whatever Vardy cost. It was a lot for someone with no experience in this division. I've not seen him play so far. However, we needed someone for this division not a Junior Lewis type who 'might' make it.

Bottom line is that he's 25 if he was a kid you might think hes one for the future, and why do we all of a sudden think our scouts have seen something when a, our scouts dont have a great track record and b, he has something which other teams have missed over the past several years ?

Ok, a lot of players come into the Championship without experience, Junior Lewis was a midfielder who proved he could do it whilst on loan and then failed, Vardy is a gamble, granted, but he has been scouted by a team who DO have a great track record! My father-in-law is a Luton fan and even before we signed him he said Vardy was far too good for that level........you seem the type of person to question pashhhhhun! He has that doesn't he!? Oh thats right....you havn't actually watched him yet.

Just wasn't our night, our wounds are full of salt thanks to Yann, but we made it worse for ourselves by missing all of those guilt edged chances, however it's what we do next that will decide if we have "champions" stuff inside of us, forget it, move on and grab the headlines at Blackburn, get all of the bad touches and misses out of the way now, I think we all agreed if we came out of this opening passage unscaved it would be a miracle!

Well maybe you should wait till you have seen him, because while he hasn't scored he has looked pretty good in the games I've been to (Didn't go today, but was at Posh and a few of the pre-season games). One bad game doesn't make him an awful player, and you can't judge how good he is until you've watched him play.

I think people are going a little overboard based on one defeat. I always thought the best we would get from this game is a draw so im not really shocked. Hell I think we'll be in for the same result on Saturday but its still no reason to panic.

We were rusty for the first 45 against the Posh and we were rusty for the first 45 today. The difference is is that today cost us because of the better standard of opposition.

I firmly believe these slow starts will be ironed out when the season properly kicks in maybe 4-5 games down the line. Other than that I think we look pretty good. Yes, we were guilty today of missing clear cut chances but again, this will improve over the coming weeks as players hit their stride more.

Im no more worried about our promotion credentials now than before we kicked off. We'll be fine

same sort of performance as last season. not got much hope. and as for Vardy, i think we know why he has been in the lower leagues all his career. Andy King is looking fairly good though.

Were you at the game? I'll take that performance from Vardy over Beckfords every time. He worked tirelessly and got into good positions. He should have buried his header in injury time but it'll come good for him if he continues to work that hard.

Drinkwater was bright, breaking up play and putting a foot in. King looks good again, De Leat was good as was Konch. Loads of positives for me, but we need to start better, and defend set pieces strongly. Cracking game tonight, we were unlucky not to get something out of it in the end.

Oh, and Knokaert (?) was exciting ;-)

Yeah, i heard it all before. The last time it was when we were going to Wembley just as soon as we beat Chelsea.

I am bitterly disappointed that nothing seems to have changed on the pitch. Either all the players are to blame (yet again???) or its the management?

until the blackburn debacle then, goodnight :(

ONE GAME!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! Actually, just tie your noose and get on with it mate.........

Nothings changed. Its just same old same old, mark my words.

Maybe it is maybe it isn't, how about actually watching us play and deciding. Rather than seemingly making your mind up before we kick a ball.

Did you think we'd go all season not losing? Only one team has won both games.

Oh well as long as we win back to back league games before some time in May we have made progress.

No reason to panic yet the same supposed promotion challengers i.e Wolves, Bolton, Middlesborough and Leeds all have 3 points likewise us.

What I would like to see is whether we can bounce back from this loss and beat Blackburn to see if we can deal with the difficulties that overcome LCFC throughout the season.

No way near enough shots on target tonight. French lad looked great when he came on and we needed someone who could make some space and try some through balls. It would have been nice to see Danns get on as well.

When did the sit down brigade start going to away matches!!!

I agree, I had us making the play offs before the season started, and I still do now. A win tonight and I would have maybe upgraded that to top 2, so that's what disappoints me most about tonight. I was really hoping we could be one of this seasons early pace setters, even though I didn't expect it. Still Blackpool are the only team to have played 2 games with a 100% record left. That sums this league up pretty well I think. Always very tight and unpredictable.

We dominated the first 20 minutes then Charlton were well worth their two goal half time lead. We struggled with high balls into the box and were bossed about physically. Beckford played some good touches but lacks physical strength and poor body language is frustrating to watch.

Second half we showed great urgency and trickery and had a host of good chances. Marshall was pedestrian and Knockaert showed some stunning creative moves which bodes well for the season. Dyer should have scored one on one and Vardy headed straight at their keeper. We had them on the rack right up to the final minute but chances must be taken. Overall a positve feel about the performance despite the loss.

Went to the game.

Schoolboy defending led to both goals. Couldn't cope with kermit or BWP for that matter. Powell did his homework and exploited the weakness. Charlton offered precious little else but it was enough. Will be surprised if Moore gets another game anytime soon, was bullied sadly.

We were good first 15 and dominated the 2nd half from start to finish. Missed 3 or 4 gilt edged chances, Dyer and Vardy particularly.

Knockaert's cameo was great, created all sorts of havoc. Also impressed with De Laet, very solid and very quick.

Based on that, King in for James, knocky for Dyer or Marshall (anonymous save for kings goal) and Nugent for Beckford.

Got to agree there sadly, massively out of his depth at CB

Two out of two score predictions for me ... No one really expected anything out of this fixture surely?

Winning streaks depend as much on the fixture list as anything else!

I thought he looked slow on Saturday - was it pace / strength or reading of the game that let him down tonight?
