Important Message to the Moaners

Good post I just hope we start winning games from now because if were not in the top 6 at christmas a fear Pearson wont have a job!

If last season with svens sacking is any guide, if we`re not in the top 6 after 13 games Pearson wont have a job!

Pearson might not last until November, let alone christmas, if we`re not in the top 6 by then!

It does not matter one little bit about how well we are playing if we don't start converting good performances into points, another good show but defeat on Saturday will mean 9 points off the pace 3 weeks into a new season! That would be worrying as all we seem to do these days is try to play "catch up"

When you put it like that it does look concerning, however take a look at Reading they had 11 points from 9 league games and were 8 points off the top with ironically Southampton 8 points ahead of them at that stage who they finished ahead of, so it isn't all doom and gloom we can pick up consistency in producing results as we progress through the season, but performances are their so we are half way their only 3 games with another 43 games to go plenty of time.

You've got a good memory OzFox! I can't remember off hand which thread exactly but otherwise 'yes'!

However, I have to take issue with your comment 'Easily carried away' - 'Eternal optimist' might be more appropriate.

But yes I do still hold the view we are a good 'Premier League' side but then doesn't everybody?????

If we are content to regard the team just as a 'Championship' side, then why do fans get so annoyed? Why are they so scathing in their criticism of the team and of individual players?

And so many fans could manage the team far better than Nigel Pearson! Why the hell didn't they apply for the job because if they had have done, we would have been top of the PL.?

Football is all about passion and belief. I try to be positive and look for the good. Having followed the City / Foxes for 62 years, I've had highs and lows. I've had superb times and bitter disappointments but I always try to come up smiling because there is always a 'next-time'!

I can't remember which thread either, but I remember saying you risked becoming "Egg on Face Fox". Unfortunately I was right (at the time).

62 years and still an eternal optimist? You've got me beat. My optimism ran out in about 1985. ;) These days I just go and hope to be entertained.

How, just how the hell did we lose that? On the bus going back to the station, all the Blackburn fans were wondering how they had won and they were all talking about 'that goal' - that is the goal that wasn't'.

'Vardy, they got him from Fleetwood you know, paid a million for him, Snip!'

The play was so far down the other end that binoculars would have been very useful. It was all Leicester -until they scored. After that,it was still all Leicester.

Important notice to the moaners. Your days for moaning, I am happy to tell you, are numbered because this is going to be a very good side. The movement, the passing, the movement off the ball, the creativity was a joy to behold. Then there was the tackling. the tenacity and the closing-down.

Forget the result today, because it will have very little significance at the end of the season.

Historically, we have never done well at either Charlton or Ewood Park. But now, just watch.......................

If I have to make comment about today, it is that we must convert that pressure into goals.

I still think Beckford should have partnered Vardy at the outset but that is in no way to be interpreted as a criticism of Nuge.

Bringing Beckford on with only seconds to go was ridiculous in ny opinion.

Similarly, Knockaet is going to be one of our legendary players. Sorry Lloyd, but as much as you richly deserved your ovation today, knockaert is in a rather more classy league.

The one little disappointment was probably Konch, not that he played badly. He just looked rather pedestrian at times in an otherwise fast moving, vibrant, entertaining and indeed exciting youthful side.

results win matches

not been good enough half a game in 3

get real pearson out

Agree. And people saying we are unlucky nearly every game is rubbish the truth is we hardly ever take our chances were not ruthless enough infront of goal!

I did say in my opening post to this thread, 'we must convert pressure into goals.

We spent the first 32 minutes camped not only in the Blackburn half but in or on the edge of their area. For those who were there, do you remember when we half jumped out of our seats and half shouted Go....and then sat down again and scratched our heads as to why we hadn't scored?

I remember a time when we were at Goodison Park - 72/73 I think it was. Everton spent 89 and a half minutes camped in our area. We won 1-0 and we didn't even score the goal. Wright put it through his own net. I wouldn't be surprised if Everton fans even today are wondering how the didn't win that by at least ten-nil.

And if you check on my posting in the Pre-Blacburn thread, i did say that on historical facts, blackburn should win 2-1.

And this is irrefutably incorrect.

If we use Boyles Law, which states e1b4e023a39c683b976281ff36bd0de4.png then we can see if pressure increases the volume of goals has to decrease. It means that the less pressure we create the number of goals will increase.

Having watched the Russian(?) stream and seen the highlights a couple of times on i-player I am still baffled as to how we got nothing from that game.We got a raw deal on the offside for their first goal and the contentious decision for Vardy's second. The better team lost. Robinson made several class saves and Blackburn made a number of blocks and goal line clearances.Had 1 or 2 of those chances gone City's way we would all be singing their praises. Yes,football is about results but if City continue playing as at Ewood the results will come and there are real grounds for optimism

As the report I read said. " Blackburn were awful, and made Leicester look good"

Say no more. No points equals no points. Just NOT good enough, unless you are wearing your blue tinted glasses.

Would you rather we lost playing well, meaning that we're more likely to pick up points in future games, or lost playing terribly, making it more likely that we'll keep oon losing?

You mean Leicester were good and made Blackburn look awful, not to bad at the home of a side just relegated from the Prem who were not doing to badly in the few games played thus far.

Unlike the start of last season we have not been outclassed yet, beaten yes but not outplayed and beaten.

The team needs tweaking, there is still work to do and things can go wrong but there are reasons for optimism.

I will see where we are after at least ten league games to see how we are doing.
