Burton Post Match Debacle

As I said earlier Carlito's, for you to say that (usually an optimistic, neutral sort of guy) makes me believe you are spot on.

I've not heard such dispondency from you ever before I don't think.

He's only just come off the medication they put him on after league one relegation, give him time!

Will the pharmacy give him a repeat prescription and can I have some?

i went tonight Col, genuinely thinking we would scrape though 2-1, but wanted just to see how Vardy, Drinky, Knocky etc played. Vardy and Drinky werent even in the squad. Knocky was the best player (Leicester) by a mile. Otherwise we were dreadful, no urgency, it was like a pre-season friendly in terms of tempo.

I remain optimistic that big Nige can turn it around, but i think he will only get so long with performances like that

I didn't go tonight but do you think the club will offer something for the fans that paid good money to watch that match.. Fair enough there are winners and losers and its just a game. To be embarrassed by a team which by all rights we should have destroyed is however beyond acceptable.

Fair play to Burton... You brought a game to us, hope you get a big draw and smash them too.

I think I'm gonna get some real tasty odds from the bookies soon :D:chant::trumpet::scarf:

I did advise you to keep hold of your money for the meantime buddy...

Atleast we played well....

Thank-god I decided not to go tonight.

Don't think i'll be going Saturday either...Wow my season ticket is looking a waste of money at this very moment, I missed loads of games last season because I couldn't be bothered towards the end of the season, I wasn't going to renew for this season but got talked round to 'give it one more season'...Oh dear.

I fear my time as a 'die-hard fan' is coming to an end, over the last year I have mentioned how i've struggled to get as excited as I used to I thought it might come back and I might get the buzz again over time but i'm not, i'm really stuggling, as I said I was talked into 'giving it one more year' but i'm still finding it a chore to go to games - A few wins and it might come back - I may just be fickle, although I don't fickleness goes on for this long, if I was fickle after one win i'd be getting excited again, i'll just have to see how it goes over this season, i've bought a season ticket I may aswell use it now and again...

If this is actually serious then I'd say you're the kind of person I don't want to be surrounded by at games. I think it might be better for all concerned if you don't bother going then if/when we get promoted you can just buy the one-off ticket for the game that we clinch promotion.

It'll be like that Scunthorpe game where we were presented with the League One trophy and suddenly 30,000 people appeared. You could be one of them, others might sing "where were you when we were shit?" at you, you'll have to take that one on the chin, but surely it will be better than putting yourself through this torture you so reasonably depict in your post?

If you go to see them winning week in, week out. To expect not to be disappointed every so often. If you can't help knee-jerk reactions, then this isn't the club for you. I hear they get 'that buzz' and 'that excitement' at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford - and there's even the Etihad Stadium for the innovative these days. Maybe you could consider one/all of these options?

Don't give a fook about the result, though shipping 4 is a tad embarrassing...... :o

Much more concerned about how Whitbread and SSL played...... :dunno:

Judging by the result I would guess not to well. Anyone who went care to fill in the details.......

The ref blew his whistle and we were shit, he blew it again and everyone went home. Pearson cracked a few skulls.

We were shit tonight but to put in it perspective (and makes me feel better) eight championship and two premiership teams went out to lower league opposition tonight. Must have been one of them nights.

NP got it ridiculously wrong tonight.

He should not have played Whitbread and St Ledger together. Firstly, both are coming back from lay-offs, unfit and secondly its the first time they've played with each other. Should have played Morgan + Whitbread or St Ledger.

I was nearly going to ask for a refund when I heard that Gallagher was starting - wish I did now. And if he starts on Saturday, I WILL return my season ticket. Fed up of watching a 6ft 2 player pussying out of tackles and providing jack shit to the team other than bog standard corners.

Waghorn is so off the pace its unreal, he needs to go.

4 shots on target, 4 goals.

I think the scoreline makes it sound a lot more terrible than it actually is.

It happens to a few teams each year and this year we're one of them. We played a lot of fringe players.

It's embarrassing and the starting 11 should be held responsible and hold their hands up to a performance not worthy of beating lower league opposition.

However, Knockaert and Futacs scored and we'll be right up for Blackpool. I'm betting on a Leicester win.

Where are you getting that stat from?? They shot at least ten times.

I'll edit that to 7 or 8 .... but it certainly wasn't 4!

To be honest we should have won this game we were really unlucky. the only reason Burton won was because Waghorn played like a pantomime oaf, schlupp likewise, Danns was just a headless chicken, Kasper still thinks good distribution is kicking the ball from one end of the pitch out for a goal kick at the other end, NP got his tactics wrong, Whitbread went mental after half time, Gally thinks that 1 decent corner a game warrants his inclusion in the side, our fans think that refs are always against us, my seat was too hard, I had a bad day today, my missus is shagging some one else (and it's a bird with a 12 inch dildo), british forces are true role models not people in celebrity big brother, when i was young we did't have x boxes - we played with dog shit on the end of a stick, what happened to white dog shit?, we wore grey flannel shorts to school even in the snow, school bus? no thanks we walked 3 miles to school and 3 miles back, computers? we had fooking fingers to count on, school - we got bummed...and said thank you to the teacher afterwards or else we then got caned.

I'm not a Leicester fan, i've never really had any positive or negative feeling towards them outside of a betting slip. I, like many people, had a rock-solid gold-plated locked-in go-faster-stripe of an accumulator this evening, and, like most, all the other teams on my accumulator won. Except Leicester.

I'll be honest, I was upset. I thought it must have been a misprint. I started to scour the Internet for confirmation that it had all been a massive mistake and Leicester actually won, and in turn I had actually won that £372 that looked so assured earlier. Inevitably, I found that it wasn't a joke, it wasn't a misprint, Burton had actually won 4-2.

I became more upset. I Googled 'Leicester fan forum' to find somewhere to vent my spleen. I wanted to find a site where people were saying 'League Cup? Pah! Who cares?'. 'I care', that's what I would have told them, I care. As fate would have it, this is the first site I found. The first thread I read was the 'Burton Match Thread'. I read it, and it made me happy. It made me happy that everyone was sad. I was sad because I didn't have any winning pennies, you were sad that you got a shoeing, and in a way those 2 negatives made a positive. It wasn't part of the plan, it wasn't an exercise for the kids, it was a stone cold shocker.

So thank you, people of FoxesTalk, the desperation, resignation & utter futility that you feel has assured a small piece of my heart stays with your club.

Having said this, I will never bet on Leicester again. Ever ever. Ever never.

Please don't hurt me.
