morris1234 Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Hahahahha dan on the radio what have you been smoking my friend? Chilled out to the max!
Mark_w Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Can people maybe now please see why I've been 'banging my drum' about getting the defence sorted out. If it isn't soon, I'm afraid Nige will probably lose his job. And I like him and don't want that to happen. Genuinely. Well for the first few games we had an inexperienced RB slotting in at CB and against Burton we had two players coming back from injury at the back and a midfield that is unlikely to be starting games, I don't think it needs sorting out as much as us being patient for the pieces to fall into place.
Dames Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Wonder if Danns was more focused on the game or on what type of night he will have in Rockafellas tonight.
ADK Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Sounds like we might have a problem where the players who are not regular first teamers are disgruntled and not playing for the team. At least thats what i gathered from Kaspers interview. For instance Gallagher having a go at Schlupp for trying a shot and then going and doing the same thing 2 minutes later. I have to say Danns Schlupp Waghorn Gallagher StLedger Whitbread All sounded poor. Kasper didn't seem to do very well as Captain, lacks composure and seems to wind people up in the wrong way. Can't help but feel it led to his loss of concentration for their 4th goal. Pearson gave a whole load of players a chance and only Futacs looked worth putting in the squad.
BoneDog Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 I'm so annoyed I didn't put £10 on tonight, they had 2/1 on tonight's result bringing about the End of Days. Damn. I'd have told you to wait 7 months!
Bert Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Where do you start after that? What a spineless, pathetic and embarassing performance. Let's not take anything away from Burton because they fully deserved their win tonight. Bar Knockaert not one of our players can stand up and be counted tonight. Lazy, lacklustre, bottlers. This wasn't just a poor performance. A lot of it was schoolboy. I've never seen so many half hearted tackles, so many poor passes. Too many players jumping out of the way in case they might get a knock. Fooking get stuck in. I never slag the manager, but his selection and substitutions were appalling tonight. He's taken off our two most creative players off and left the most ineffective (Waghorn - doesn't deserve to be in our team, you're a striker, hit the target) on. Fair enough our centre backs needed a game and this should've been a decent game to bed them in. But they both got mugged off by a league 2 striker. Defenders with international caps too, not just championship defenders. The central midfielders couldn't pass wind, they were bullied and out-played tonight, didn't seem arsed about the battle. There was no bite, grit or determination from two lads who should've been proving a point to show why they should be picked. Let's move on to the goals. Their first, a free kick (which was harsh) tool a huge deflection. Fair enough, deal with it. We should be able to come from behind. Their second - At schoolboy you're told do not let the ball bounce. Feck me Whitbreac, you've got a head. Use it. Instead of just sticking out your foot which was a common thing tonight by the way, show some guts and get rid of it. Their third. - I've never ever seen a penalty awarded when the attacking team has handled the ball. Enough said. Their fourth - A worldie. But if Kasper wasn't out of position he might have stood half a chance. Funnily enough, that was an ex Leicester trialist scoring. I hope on Saturday we get a response because that was nothing short of embarassing.

This ain't the night for excuses Mark. Four of the back five, I assume, would be first choice for Blackpool? James played in the first two games, Danns hovers in the wings. We've just conceded 4 goals at home to Burton. Not the night for any excuses. Take it on the chin and focus on the defence. And fast. The attack will be fine.

morris1234 Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 We can analyse and argue until our hearts content. It's football , it happens. We weren't good enough the team we put out should've been more than good enough but it happens. Doesn't mean the team or management are inept. You can spin anything to make it sound better or worse. How about we give our club a chance to build for once. Because although we have spent considerable money over the last few seasons, this expectation we must dominate each game has come from nowhere in my opinion. Fair enough this was burton and we should've easily won, on paper. But for me making remarks about tactics when the you only know what a 4-2-3-1 is due to football manager and saying in one breath we need stability and the defence needs to bed in followed swiftly by the opposite end of the spectrum by asking for pearsons head? Behave. This is aimed at the plebs that rang in tonight. Share your opinions, discuss them but I just can't be doing with people asking for pearsons head. Its ridiculous and a default response for something they cannot comprehend with reasonable understanding.
ibbosuk Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 A proven 20 goal Championship striker is whats missing (Simon Cox would of been perfect ) WE NEED GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............................

Bluetintedspecs Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 8 changes fringse, returning and recovering players. Some players have seriously and possibly fatally damaged their City careers tonight. If it were our starting 11 that have played excellently last two games without reward etc then the overreaction is justified. As they didn't it could hopefully see departure of players that simply aren't good enough! Certainly not the end of the world

Certainly not the end of the world This keeps popping up about the changes. To be honest before kick off we all thought its a good opportunity for those on the fringes to gain fitness and catch the eye. It is those players that have let themselves and the club down tonight. Pearson gave them the chance and it wasn't like he just closed his eyes and pointed at a team sheet and guessed a formation. We should've won, even with that team. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and saying we should've played vardy etc helps nobody. Again - aimed at the phone in mongholes!

whitwickfox Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Well it looks like our squad of twenty five seems to be more like fifteen. Still nige is happy with what we have got
nuttytimmy Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 I don't think we were that bad; certainly, we were very good in the first half and showed some spunk before the penalty. Anyway, here are my Conclusions.

No one thought we would lose... In fact, many thought we would thrash them ( me included). Make no bones, whatever side we put out should have been good enough to beat Burton.

Nobody wants to see big Nige get the sack but he needs to get a grip and quickly that was frankly the worst game ive been to since the pathetic Wycombe cup game shambles a decade plus ago
21st Century Fox Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Well Harry what you doing next week? Off to the bank to open a couple of new accounts.

Nobody wants to see big Nige get the sack but he needs to get a grip and quickly that was frankly the worst game ive been to since the pathetic Wycombe cup game shambles a decade plus ago As I said earlier Carlito's, for you to say that (usually an optimistic, neutral sort of guy) makes me believe you are spot on. I've not heard such dispondency from you ever before I don't think.
ADK Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Certianly don't want Pearson to get the sack. I'd rather we finished 10th in the league this season and got a new manager at the end of the season if thats how things work out. Another mid season sacking would be abyssmal. And for the record i though sacking Sven was wrong too.
Ashley Posted 28 August 2012 Posted 28 August 2012 Anyone still think its a good idea to play 4-3-3 with the players we have? When we went to what looked like a 4-3-3 we simply got HAMMERD by a league two side simple. The only reason I say what looked like a 4-3-3 is because we lost our shape big time at 2-0 down.
