Burton Post Match Debacle

Been really impressed with some of your comments in the last couple of days, wish I could talk sense like that.

Well Babs is Babs, and that is...nah I won't bother.

Oh please bother, I would love the attention seeking Kingfox to make me his next "victim". You could start a new thread about it perhaps?

****ing hell guys chill out, the amount of unfit players in there made this practically a preseason game. The minnows upped their game and we got beat, it happens.

I hope we win on Saturday but, if we don't I guess it's down to how we lose. If we out play Blackpool and get they a dodgy 93 rd minute penalty, then most will leave not too disgruntled. Lose 4-0 and play poorly, and the boo boys will be on form.

Shite Performance, Well played Burton but have to admit I am getting fed up with hearing from Pearson that " that performance was not good enough" or " that was not what I expect from one of my teams" how many times have we heard that now. I would like radio Leicester to go back over the interviews since Pearson returned and count how many times he has said the same thing at some point Pearson will need to look at himself and ask... is it me! irresepective of the team we still should beat Burton.... mind you totally fed up with radio Leicester having people on who have not been to the game or a obvioulsy either drunk or have brain limitations.

Not a particularly constructive post here I know and maybe slightly off topic re the actual competition but we lost to Harlow Town in 1980's FA Cup 3rd round (I think) as a respectable second tier team at the time, one who yo-yo'ed between the top two divisions at the time. Jock Wallace lived to fight another day in style and went down as a LCFC managerial legend ! Will Pearson be able to do the same in time? Only time will tell but tonight's shock defeat won't help matters a great deal in an already questionnable second spell for him here.......

You think right. 1-0. Shocker of a game on a very cold night with a sub-standard pitch and Gary Lineker looking like a park player (not to mention all the Spurs fans that turned out to have a go at us). Slightly different kettle of fish last night, apart from SSL looking like a park player (actually, not even that good), but point taken.

Well it weren't me as I don't think SSL is up to much and have never seen whitbread, although he does come highly rated by Narrrch fans.

Didn't for one instance think it was, I would never have taken it seriously if it had......

Think it was one of the 'foxes', King or Happy or Dopey, one of those......

Personally I don't think we played particularly well against Peterbrough especially in the first half... I didn't go against Charlton or Blackburn but by all accounts we played well (even though the beeb website said we only had 41% possession in the latter) and now we get a tonking by lowly Burton.

I fear for Pearson if we lose on Saturday and fear a volley of abuse if I give an opinion on this so I'll keep my council.

What does disgust me is the pointless tripe spouted on this site by so called City fans shouting down others opinions if they don't match their own... It seems to me that the same that slag off the phone in are the ones that won't accept any others views if they don't agree... Needless to say they are also the ones who can't see any wrong with there beloved football club rather than try and see the underlying issues that need resolution.

In my opinion the buck stops with the manager. After scrolling through the latest single minded unwavering abuse levied at any poster who dares suggest Pearson may be the problem not the solution i have decided that some may never be able to put together a constructive argument and decided to leave Foxes talk.

Thanks for the amusement over the past couple of years and thanks for the thought provoking debates I've had with a few who've actually provided a well reasoned, balanced view even if they didn't agree with my own,Thrac, Kitch, Flowwolf, raynard to name a few.

Up the city.... A

If that was supposed to be a 'flounce', you really need to work at it...... ;)

Anyway, the only way you can tell if you are right about anything is when all the 'established' posters try and put you down......

You should not confuse them with the simple minded ******, though I accept that can be very difficult on occasions.

I believe it was Happy Fox... Another of his 'if we play so and so we'll be fine' type posts.

I apologise if I'm wrong.

I cant even be bothered to look through all of these pages and the rest of this forum as i can guess what the reaction has been. I have also waited until this morning to come on here as it would of been very predictable i'd imagine.

From my point of view (I WAS at the game last night) it was a poor performance, FACT.

The changes made were a good decision as they was still a strong side and those players were more than good enough, we should NOT be blaming NP for that. The players let him, themselves and the fans down, FACT. The Midfield 4 last night was as good as the midfield we had last season so defo no excuse.

However, these cup shocks happen and they will continue to happen so its how we bounce back now.

In terms of player performances, yes it was very disappointing but to hear people slating Whitbread and SSL is a disgrace. Granted, both looked very rusty last night but Whitbread is a PROVEN defender at this level so give him time Really dont know why some fans judge players after 1 game! SSL was in his 1st game back to so cut some slack, we need these boys fit and we need them to get back to their best for the rest of the season.

Talk of Pearson leaving on the phone in last night was really annoying me. When will people realise that if we swap our manager YET AGAIN, it will be a massive LOW point for this club and will make us look silly. We are already the laughing stock at present until we at least play another game so last thing we need is to sack a manager after a few games and start all over again! Pearson is building a good young team that needs time, please can we just give it that time and not keep talking about new managers!!!! Whether your a Pearson fan or not, surely even his haters can see that changing management AGAIN is not the answer at this stage!!

On a brighter note, credit to Burton Albion and good luck to them.

Credit to our fans that stayed till the end as well and gave the Burton players a standing ovation, thats what football is all about

Last nights performance was pretty bad, but we had plenty of posession and plenty of chances, the midfield played ok and Knocky was pretty good but we were let down by stupid mistakes and they managed to finish pretty much all there chances, their second and last goals were excellent finishes. I think pearson under estimated how well they were going to play but they probably wont play that well again all season, im not a big fan of pearson but I slated him for playing a full strength squad against Palace a few years ago when Tunch got injured so cant complain if he plays second team in a tin pot cup we wont be winning. If last nights performance is a wake call to the squad and we beat Blackpool on saturday and challenge for promotion no one will care. Yes the team should have beaten Burton last night but IT DOES NOT MATTER

Posted

Unfortunately we appear to be in the position already of making excuses. At least we're consistent. Three defeats on the bounce and one victory against a team who are obviously shite in the league.

I think we've got the players. I think NP is ok. But my concern is that IF we don't start winning, NP will be gone and we'll be back to square one and worse.

The excuses have to end and the results have to come.

That's the key for me, the owners won't really give to sh!ts about what people think on this forum, whether there's still support for Pearson or not, they'll get rid if the results don't start to come. A defeat on Saturday would make it 4 defeats on the spin, and with the international break after that they might think that is the time to make the move.

Then we're back to the situation of new manager, needing 'his players', more changes, no continuity and another wasted season.

We'll probably win on Saturday and wonder what we were worried about though........

I really don't care what competition it is, our squad and back up players, not to mention three/four first team players getting stuffed (not beat, stuffed) by a bottom half League Two team at home is very worrying.

You are writing of Whitbread after one game?

I was merely stating when fit Whitbread would be first choice alongside Morgan and the defensive unit would be strengthened ,whether we concede goals or not is merely due to the defense collectively as a team.

Thank ****, someone else who was at the same game as me. Personally I thought Whitbread was clearly not at 100% and out of match practice but, especially early in the game, I thought the way he read the game and other players movement was clearly top quality. Once he is at full throttle and providing he stays injury free he will be our best defender by a mile and a great influence on the team.

AS A LIFE LONG SURRPORTER IT IS HUMILIATING

You can analize it all you want but a team of first squad players lost 4-2 at home and by all accounts we were poor. And I have to face the world knowing this.

Don't take it too seriously....... ;)

I have given up giving clear, well organised views of how we are playing along with proper, thought out suggestions of how we can do better.

It's a waste of time, just inviting abuse from the keyboard warriors and the under 5's.......

Snide and sarky comments are the way forward..... :)
