Danizen Posted 16 October 2012 Posted 16 October 2012 Must mean he's shit. Yeah, let's disregard the 160 goals in 155 games and focus on tonight. He's overrated....
kingfox Posted 16 October 2012 Posted 16 October 2012 Ryan McGivern will be massive after tonight, Konchesky can do one I want McGivern back in an instant. But then again Peltier did well against Ronaldo when we played Real Madrid, and look how he turned out
Jordan Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Does it start with H and have 15 m's in the middle?
AlphaMaleFox Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 http://youtu.be/5-Wqh_SHx5g Check from 1:00 and further
Unabomber Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Anyone know if the england game will be played in front of fans tonight?
kingfox Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 http://youtu.be/5-Wqh_SHx5g Check from 1:00 and further OMG quality, his celebration was absolutely hilarious. Like I said last night they should of got hold of Gabriel Clarke's legs and slide him across the pitch.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 http://youtu.be/5-Wqh_SHx5g Check from 1:00 and further I can imagine that bloke is probably still laughing his arse off seeing the official go down like that - wonderful moment!
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 The USA got through (shock horror ). Didn't play that well, dempsey is still class though. Nice to see US Soccer taking the national matches around various stadiums including small ones like kansas, I wish we did that but its all about the money with our FA, so no chance.

purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 We did do that. when wembley was being rebuilt?
MooseBreath Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 If you want a national stadium like Wembley you need to have matches there to pay for it unfortunately. It was great when we were going round the houses, but I think I'd rather have Wembley.

MooseBreath Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Really? Have you been? I thought it was dull, souless and had 0 atmopshere. No never been. I can imagine it is like that for friendly or not particularly competitive England matches, but it will all be worth it for the day Leicester get there for a cup final again.
Haydos Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Really? Have you been? I thought it was dull, souless and had 0 atmopshere. Do you get many international matches in 90,000 seaters that have atmosphere?
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Really? Have you been? I thought it was dull, souless and had 0 atmopshere. For football it is. I went to the Rugby League Cup Final and the atmosphere was electric. The NFL when it's there is pretty good as well.
Kitchandro Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 I don't like the new Wembley but I'd rather have a national stadium, it's what makes the club cup competitions worthwhile.
BlueSi13 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Really? Have you been? I thought it was dull, souless and had 0 atmopshere. In fairness, have England ever played a "glamour" competitive game at the new Wembley to get the fans riled up? Hasn't it just been games that we'd be surprised if we didn't win? I honestly don't remember If so that would go a heck of a long way to explain why Wembley's usual atmosphere is very much similar to that of Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 There has just been a groundsman on the pitch The fork he was using looked like a hand fork on a pole

It was a qualifier and a very important game, if that cant get the fans riled up then all hope is lost. I bet if that game had been played at villa park or stadium of light the atmopshere would have been a lot better despite less fans.
davieG Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 We'll get nothing from this game if the mid-field keep giving the ball away.
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2012 Posted 17 October 2012 Do you get many international matches in 90,000 seaters that have atmosphere? yes. not sure what the numbers have to do with it though. Suely 20,000 making more noise than 90,000 makes that point irrelevant anyway.

Not really, the stadiums huge and its very likely that a lot of people there aren't die hard football fans or even supporters at all (corporate). I really don't buy into the whole 'stadium lacks atmosphere' thing, people generate atmosphere not stadiums. With smaller stadia theres a lot higher concentration of fans who make noise.

But surely 20,000 fans amking noise would still generate an atmopshere, how many fans who go to wembley try and make an atmosphere....certainly not close to 20,000.
