I am Rod Hull Posted 11 September 2012 Author Posted 11 September 2012 When you compare it to how we defended against Belgium it's ridiculous. That said, I rate Serbia as a much better attacking side than the Belgians. You take Hazard out and the latter are very average but against a side like ours Tosic and Tadic are just brilliant. The Serbs looked pretty shite against the Jocks, maybe we should be giving Levein and Scotland more credit for the 0-0 they got against them?
Guest shearfox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 How does Cleverly not score that, seemed harder to not score...
Finnegan Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 The Serbs looked pretty shite against the Jocks, maybe we should be giving Levein and Scotland more credit for the 0-0 they got against them? I think there's always been a fair bit of talent in their side but it's young and inexperienced and has been on an awful run of form. They started a little poorly but once Kolarov scored it completely lifted the weight off their shoulders. Our defending has been absolutely shambolic but they deserve plaudits for the pace of their play. They're worth the three goals. Bale's free kick one of the best I can remember seeing in a long time, though.
Guest shearfox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 That had been coming How? It came against the run of play, sure they were looking to counter but totally out the blue...
Bluefoxtim Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 I just can't get excited by England matches. I'm on my laptop with the TV in the background, Ukraine scored and I barely battered an eyelid!
Guest shearfox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Hit the post this time... don't know how we ain't winning this one...
Guest MattP Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 I love how all of Scotlands games are "must win".
Matt Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Can't beleive we had the quality of Tom Cleverley at Leicester only a couple of years ago. Shame we couldn't have talked Fergie into selling him to us, saying that he wouldn't be playing for England right now if he had signed for us.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Is it me or did Hodgeson roll his eyes and say typical when cleverly hit the post
Guest ttfn Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Potential to be embarrassed not only today but in the future, but I really don't think Cleverley is good enough at this stage for United or England. Would far rather see Lallana.
foxesfan1989 Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 I may have to stop telling everybody Clev learnt everything he knows here. Akinbadbuy could have finished them
ScouseFox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Potential to be embarrassed not only today but in the future, but I really don't think Cleverley is good enough at this stage for United or England. Would far rather see Lallana. Completely agree. Said the same the other day. No idea why Fergie has bigged him up as much as he has, and it seems that because Sir Alex has previously said he's really good that everyone is just ignoring what's in front of them and taking his word for it. He's nowhere near England standard right now, not just based on a few pretty bad misses today, either.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Bale's free kick one of the best I can remember seeing in a long time, though. Can't argue with that. My stream is a bit shit so couldn't really tell if he meant to hit it quite like that but if he did it was amazing. Seemed to swerve about 6 feet!

BlueSi13 Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Hit the post this time... don't know how we ain't winning this one... Really? In 45 minutes the Ukrainian goalkeeper has been bothered how many times? Not many. Everytime Ukraine have come at us they have broken through, they deservedly lead in my opinion. Its hard to take but we are so far again highlighting that we are a good-to-decent footballing nation but nothing more than that. Ukraine have come with a very predictable game plan are loving watching us just pass it around conservatively in front of them whilst waiting for our inevitable mistakes thanks to our comical composure on the ball. Thats not to say this wouldn't be a total humiliation though, when was the last time England lost a competitive game at home? Against Croatia under McLaren i believe, and before that? I don't honestly remember.
Corky Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Defoe's goal should've stood, theirs was a cracker, Cleverley's finishing has been dreadful.
Corky Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 I love how all of Scotlands games are "must win". The reporter on Talksport said they had been outplayed by Macedonia. Levein's football as exciting as it was for us.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Too early to really say this I know but imagine if we didn't qualify for the world cup in BRAZIL! That would really **** up my plans for the trip of my life
