TommyB Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Hi all! Fleetwood Town fan coming in peace here. I'm simply wandering, how is he doing? I've heard a lot from different websites that he's doing ok, but what do the fans think? He always worked his hardest for us, and put 100% in each game, so i hope hes doing the same for you guys! Cheers.

Cheers. Hi Tommy, Hope your season is going well. Vardy. His effort and work-rate is absolutely spot on. Always tries hard, chases down, gives 100% every game. However, it is apparent that against some defenders he can be easily pushed off the ball and sometimes his positioning isn't great. Having said that, I think he is doing very well - he's learning and I think most people forget that he's jumped 2 divisions. He has took his goals well, and I believe he will only get better!

glenny_fox Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 In my opinion he is doing great, hes puts everything he has got into every game, gets into the positions to score and seems to have a good partnership wit Nugent. He just seems to eager to score and has a tendancy to snap at shots.
Legend fox Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Vardy done well in my eyes and is getting better don't think he will be far off 20 lge goals if he gets on a run. Hope fleetwood have a great season bud.
cc_star Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Doing very well, contributing to the team enormously, linking up well with the wide-men & forming a good partnership with Nugent. Bagged a few too, hope he gets more his work ethic deserves it.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Been up and down. His workrate will reward goals, but he does miss a lot of chances at this level. You can see that he often wants one more touch or one more second and will lose the ball or the time to shoot, purely for the fact you get that time in the lower leages and conference, not in the Championship. But he is righty in the team, and his attitude and hard working approach rightly gets him ahead of people like Beckford, as he will contribute more to the team becuase of his all round game.
lovelcfc Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 His workrate and effort is amazing, he just misses a lot of chances that you would expect him to put away whether he's been lower league or not, but improving all the time
NewquayFox Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Great player and a real grafter, just needs to compose himself a bit more in front of goal (reminds me of a certain Gary Lineker when he first broke into the team) and the goals will come, good understanding with Nugent and would get even more chances as the season goes on...... ;0)
Mack Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Hard worker that will please a lot of Foxes fans. So far has lacked the clinical edge in front of goal. Jury is out for me.

This hard work and 'passhun' goes a long way with being a crowd pleaser here at LCFC. Just look at Hume. For me he is doing well, he working hard like I have said - Something we all slated Beckford for not being, Vardy just needs to be more clinical in front of goal and he'll be the finished product, hopefully in time that will come. He certainly deserves his place in the team.

Personally I couldn't give a monkeys as long as a striker finds the net, that is the important bit after all?

Personally I couldn't give a monkeys as long as a striker finds the net, that is the important bit after all? Exactly, like Yakubu, 'He did nothing, except score'...who gives a fuck if he does nothing, aslong as he's scoring. Like I say i'm willing to stick with Vardy, hopefully in time the finishing will come - and lets be honest although he doesn't seem prolific yet, he's scored a few. Unlike Beckford who offered nothing - Didn't look like he wanted to play, didn't look like he was working very hard, didn't add anything to the team apart from the odd game - Atleast Vardy adds something to the team. (I really fear I may have turned this into another Beckford discussion thread now )
MGLCFC Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 I've come to learn that many of our fans will accept a complete donkey as long as he ploughs an endless furrow for the cause. Personally I couldn't give a monkeys as long as a striker finds the net, that is the important bit after all? But does it matter who finds the net as long as we are winning? He makes defences uncomfortable with his no stop work rate. Yes he should have scored a few more goals, but Fryatt had runs where he hardly scored, yet many fans thought he was good enough at this level. I hope a few goals in the next 5 games will deliver the confidence he is lacking at the moment to be really clinical in front of goal.
Number 6 Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Real grafter, building a good partnership with Nuge and is on course for 10-15 goals in his first Champ season. Needs to be a touch greedier though as he's sometimes to eager to look for a pass when the shot is on. He's continued to improve though and if he can get near 15 goals this season then that's a great achievement.
Fox92 Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 His work off of the ball for the team is fantastic. It's always great to see a player that really works hard, it's all you ask for really, and Vardy does just that. He has missed a couple of chances, but he is new to this level and still learning, eventually I'm sure he will score these chances but I think his finishing is ok anyway; as proved against Blackburn, for example, when he was one on one and scored. Good luck for the rest of the season to Fleetwood as well.

Cheers. Hello fellow cod head! I watch Fleetwood when Im not watching Leicester and can say that his performances for us this season have been similar to how he played for fleetwood last season - which is remarkable considering the step up he has had to make. Obviously hes not been scoring as many due to playing against better quality opposition and I think hes lost a bit of confidence recently - he seems a bit reluctant to shoot and ends up making one too many passes. But all in all, hes keeping up with the pack and has retained his quality from last season, a real grafter too.
dannyboy Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Doesn't work hard enough of the ball for me would rather see Schulup start
MooseBreath Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 He has been decent but will need to improve if he's going to make a difference in big matches, and will need to improve vastly if he is to make it in the prem if we get there
ealingfox Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Works hard, needs more tekkers to be honest. First touch and distance shooting need improvement.
MrSpaM Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Vardy is doing well all things considering, a lot of our fans on here were expecting him to instantly be scoring hat-tricks week in week out, which was never going to happen. He's had some stick off some fans for missing some absolute sitters, but his work rate has been spot on and he's an asset to the squad. Personally I’m glad we signed him.
Leicester_Numan Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Can't really add much to what has already been said except that he's also been denied by a dodgy offside decision and some excellent keeping so he could have been on 6 or 7 goals
Ric Flair Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 He's a hat-trick away from finding his feet, what I mean by that is that one game where he totally detroys a team and his confidence will be sky high and he'll settle down. His work rate is superb and Nugent must love playing alongside him, but his decision making needs working on, which is fair enough given the step up. I think he'll still score 12-15 goals this season, which isn't bad at all. I think we were hoping he'd be prolific like we was for Fleetwood, irrespective of the different levels.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Great kid - really hard working, honest player who makes some excellent breakaways and is forming a good partnership with Nugent. Scored a few, but I think he'll score at a higher rate when playing at this level "clicks" for him. I think his and Knockaert's enthusiasm seems to be rubbing off on the whole squad (and even some of the fans)

Agree - I hope this is the case as has missed a few sitters vs great saves so hope it is more nerves/confidence which I think it is. Love his dogged nature and some of the hard tackles he puts in when he tracks back! Doesnt shy away at all
