Brum 1-1 Leicester Post Match

Just got home from the game. Sat in with the blues fans behind there goal with a mate who has a season ticket.

Found it hard not to jump up when Marshall scored.

Thought we played well first half and created lots of chances. Konchesky was lucky not to give a pen away. It was def in the box and the ref gave the foul till the linesman ruled it out.

Marshall free kick at the end was going in the top corner but for a fine save by Butland.

Scrapy game at times but pleased with the point and WERE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

Hopefully three more points on Tuesday.

We're we loud from that end? Thought we were great 1st half and towards the end if the second.

Yeah very loud especially when we scored. The fans did they club proud today with a great turn out. Got a great pic of you all.

What is with the BBC stats service? It's such a crock of shit.

3 shots on target?!

Off the top of my head, Knockaert had at least 3, De Laet had a goal-bound shot blocked, Marshall scored and had a great free kick saved. I'm sure there were others.

Good result considering we all thought it wasn't going to be our day

Completely dominated the game, top of the table, two home games coming up, onwards and upwards :scarf:

Hoping this season is League 1 all over again and dominate top now were there. I really dont feel bothered or worried about any team we play this year with the good form were in , Just hope we can keep it up. I think we need to use the loan market for a Striker and cover for Cb. Are we featured game on FLS? Cant wait for Tuesday Bring it on!! COYB!!!!!!!!!"

Not long back :chant: if it was a boxing match it would've been stopped! great support, some excellent creative play some poor finishing and Butland was quality! We still got a result and most of all WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE :D:scarf:

Decent match. Brum fans claimed a freekick whenever we won the ball.

Should of had a peno. Dyer got destroyed from the tackle.

Those girls doing the signing pissed my off though. They're coming to the KP soon. Fvck sake

Yep a tremendous standing vocal support apart from about 15 min spell 2nd half when nerves were jangling about losing to the heap of shite that were Birmingham. A very dominant and one sided 1-1 but happens in football ! There should have been a pen and another day Waggy doing well to meet a hard driven ball would have gone in by just hitting him. In the end pleased with draw like look of Whitbread, Captain, Morgan immense again but Drinky gets my MOM again!

That free kick from Marshall at the end was brilliant.

I doubt I'll see a better save this season than Butlamd getting across to that. No idea how he saved it.

Agree with "Peterborough" we should have made our changes earlier. We'd lost impetus, some of the players had run out of energy and ideas and we needed a different approach.

At least the changes, when they came, were positive but if we'd made em earlier we might have had time to win the game.

That said our first half performance was a delight to watch from box to box with some really slick passing threatening to carve Birmingham apart.

I'm still not sure Dyer was offside for his goal - or that the linesman was right for a lot of his offside calls - and the same player should definitely have had a penalty even if we give accept that a blatant Birmingham handball in the box was accidental.

What was missing first half was the finishing. Butland wasn't unduly troubled by the few shots we had on target but, as ever, Waghorn wasted a glorious tap-in opportunity and you really wonder if the guy should play rugby for the times he shoots over the bar.

Others frustrated as well either by shooting too late, too tamely or by putting an extra pass into the build up when a shot might have been more productive.

In the end you somehow knew that Birmingham were going to break away and score - and they did so courtesy of Dyer slipping over when trying to turn on the watered surface when under pressure next to their penalty area. Somehow the breakdown left us completely exposed and Birmingham swiftly took advantage.

Second half we lost some of our business and belief but at least in the end our management went for three strikers plus Marshall and it was Marshall who did what others had too often failed to do by having a go from a bit of distance. It seemed the ball got a deflection but whethever it was a deserved goal and it would just have been nice to have left us a bit more time to chase a winner.

No matter - there was compensation in going top and adding another game to our unbeaten run - but much more in the fact that our team was barely recognisable style-wise from the labouring group which visited St Andrews last season and committed hari-kari courtesy of Mills getting sent off.

In the end it was a creditable point on another day when we played some excellent football. But for all our eyecatching ability to pass and move there's lots more we can do to make our pressure produce goals.

If we keep dominating like that, I'm 100% confident we will go up. Think we need a week of training on how to score. So many chances.

Any Birmingham fans reading this forum can someone please explain to me how you 'deserved to win' like a few of your fans have said? lol

How unfit were Brum's players today? Fazackerley doing as good a job there as he did here. Top of the league and a fans fixture on Tuesday, i'll be very disappointed if we don't manage 30000

I think you're going to end up very dissapointed! i'd guess at 27,000 ish?

The Brum forum is embarrasing. Apparently we're nothing better than average and they deserved the point. To top it off theyre going on about their support today being good and ours being crap, only heard their lot once.

Never seen such a one sided 1-1 draw we played them of the park But at the end of the day we are Top of the League so lets hope we can stay there .The fans were a credit too didnt see anyone sitting down :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Train going down was chaos, i was due to get on the 10:40 from Nuneaton, two coaches! the train was packed, couldn't get on! Asked the conductor why there was only two coaches replied very rudely. Got on next one okay, but once again we stood.

The match itself, never seen an away team dominate an home team so much and still didn't win! Left the ground feeling happy, but disappointed we didn't take all three points, The quietest home crowd I've ever heard, our support was terrific even when we were one-down. I wasn't keen on Whitbread thought he was poor, to be honest, a little too clumsy.

Did the birmingham fans go to a another match?

It was a great performance, particularly the first half which was a joy to watch. No doubt with that approach to football, we will continue to reap the rewards. It was great to see so many Leicester fans all standing, but vocally it was disappointing. We were generally muted, although we were loud when abusing Marlon and towards the end. Brum fans were ridiculously quiet and the only noise they made was to groan at the referee or their own players-pathetic support!

You're entitled to your opinion, but I thought he was excellent - won absolutely everything in the air and was composed on the ball. Really pleased with his full debut in the Championship. MOM according to Radio Leicester.
