I blame Wellens Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Great day. Proud to be a city fan. Some lovely interplay between the midfield. Do worry about are strikers though. I know it seems an obvious thing to say but I do worry about them. Ah well top off the league, for now who gives a fcuk. Don't shoot my down but I can't help thinking releasing Beckford is going to come back and bite us on the arse. Knocky some of your passing was sublime. Jesus, I've just used sublime to describe my football club. Can't wait for Tuesday.
Weller in Tights Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Some lovely football today, especially in the first half, shame we couldn't convert our possession into goals. I know its early days for Knocky, but who was the last Leicester player with as much skill??? Oh yeah, and well done to the City Faithful, great atmosphere, maybe even those Leeds fans that were on this site last night might have thought we made a bit of a noise today!!!!!! Blue Army
Happy Fox Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 F**king ecstatic words cannot describe how I am feeling absolutely buzzing fantastic atmosphere, Marshall made the difference and likewise Vardy when they came on, 2 very winnable home games coming up to cement our position at the top of the league.

Vardy was awful when he came on. I know he's been ill, so I'm not having a go, but the only way he was changing the game was in their favour.
Happy Fox Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Vardy was awful when he came on. I know he's been ill, so I'm not having a go, but the only way he was changing the game was in their favour. I thought he had very positive impact certainly not what he was capable of but he did a better job than Waghorn imo.
isaidno Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Birmingham should have been down to 9 men before halftime. There right back ( who was awful) should have had a second booking for chopping dyer down in the box, blatant penalty. Spector should have gone in the first half. Butland made some decent saves, the one in the first half was excellent. If waghorn had scored in the first half , Birmingham would have been rolled over easy.
Dylan Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Thought we were absolutely dominant in that first half... despite being behind at the break, if we play like that 1st half every game we will walk this league, was just one of those days where the goal didn't come, but could've been 3 or 4 up. Quietened down in the second half, game became more scrappy, but managed to grab a great goal to get a point. Also kept out by 3 world class saves by Butland, especially that late Marshall free-kick... most other keepers in this league and they're goals. All in all, a decent point, top of the league, can't really complain!
dedlock Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Some lovely football. The signs were there at Blackburn, since then, with the exception of defensive errors at Wolves we've got better, had control of games and played good football. All with a youngish motivated squad. MON was a pragmatist,we got results. NP is essentially pragmatic, too, but appears willing to accomodate flair.Knocky is more a Jimmy B player! I am sure Vardy & Nuge will score consistently but we will need a third goalscorer.Schlupp may be the answer but I doubt Waggy or Futacs are.Onward and ,hopefully, upward.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 You're entitled to your opinion, but I thought he was excellent - won absolutely everything in the air and was composed on the ball. Really pleased with his full debut in the Championship. MOM according to Radio Leicester. Totally agree
Jaspa Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Not like Foxestalk not to have a wank topic over our grey/white kit Quite like it, probably my fave of the 3 On the result, its very good to land down well after the break, positivity about and a decent performance. Let's roll on and continue the hard work
acooling08 Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Dominant first half. Poor second half. Good atmosphere - especially at 1-1 till the end!!
J.Lisemore Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Just got back, we absolutely annihilated Birmingham, Butland was on top form and if we could make more of our dangerous attacks, we would have walked it. I think they had 1 shot on goal? we were brilliant today, really do look like a team now.
Bert Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 We deserved to win today but failing to take out chances has cost us. Their goal was a right sucker punch an tool the steam out of us. Pleased with the lads and how they kept on going. Was very disappointed with dyer today. Often too far in field and had the beating of their full back yet very rarely attacked him. Especially when he was on a booking!
Soar Fox Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 First half how we weren't 2 or 3 up i'll never know. Spector and Hurst(?) Could have been sent off in the first half. Dyer should have had a blatant penalty where the player took his standing leg. How Waghorn missed that sitter i'll never know, it was harder to miss. The only thing I'd say is I thought Pearson's subs could have been on the hour mark. I thought we left it a bit late. Waghorn shouldn't be starting on Tuesday after that performance. Dyer is better as an impact player in my opinion when defences are tiring and he can use his pace. The only real concern I have is if Drinkwater or Morgan got injured as I don't think we'd have a replacement who are as good as them. Especially Morgan who is a beast and I love that man.
Happy Fox Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Whitbread did alright imo, certainly will get better the more games he plays you can tell he is still a bit rusty.
Guy Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Superb to come back in the manner that we did, despite conceding first at that deadly time to do so, namely on the stroke of half time! It sounded like it was 40/60 in favour of us. re possession and so if we are to "walk this league" then we need to be more clinical in keeping out sucker punches and convertiing more of our chances up front - quoting the obvious really! That said, this sounded precisely like the type of game we'd have lost last season. Brum will be more pleased with a point than us I reckon. It will be interesting to see how our next two home games go against arch rivals - Brighton hate Palace!
marbelladave Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Evening all, Well that was interesting...... After 70 or so minutes I really could not see us getting anything out of this game, we seemed to take a big step backwards, back to our opening away games of the season. In the end it took an outstanding strike from Marshall to get us a point. Had we played poorly and got the point I could have rationalised that, but we didn't, we actually played pretty well, as individuals anyway. First half we looked pretty good but Waghorn's miss was really the only clear chance created, sure half chances fell to King, Nugent, Dyer etc but the more clear cut opportunities of recent weeks were not to be seen. We set up 4-4-2, with Knockaert clearly under instruction to play a conservative wide role, yes he did come inside on occasion but the creative spark that makes all the difference to our play was rarely visible. King tried to fill the gap but a playmaker he is not. We simply lacked the energy of Knockaert dropping off to pick up the ball deep and drive at the opposition and for some reason reverted to chipped, floated balls into the box instead of the low driven crosses that have been a feature of our play in recent weeks. It's great to be top of the league but we really should be 2 points clear, a bit disappointing really.
Corky Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Disappointed we didn't win, dominated the first half and should've put our chances away. Their keeper had a fine game, probably man-of-the-match, and it took something special to beat him. The midfield had a good game, especially in the centre, and by and large the defence was on top. Nugent and Waghorn were offside too much for my liking, although the referee had a poor match all round. Pleased we recovered a point, a shame we didn't collect all three, but it's another game unbeaten, another game in which we showed plenty of attacking intent and great to be top. Now the key is to stay there.
indierich06 Posted 20 October 2012 Posted 20 October 2012 Funny but if this had happened before our good run, people would be saying not good enough and calling for Pearson to be sacked. Yaaaaaaaawn. No. ****ing rational people wouldn't have done.
Dan Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Knew we'd draw Another very encouraging performance but just not the result to match, it happens I guess, yet another away game we've gone away and absolutely bossed the home side. I'll be amazed if we're not in the top 6. Had a top class day, great laugh, loads of drink and a great atmosphere too - THAT is why standing is far better. Goal celebration was superb too. For a draw that was quality. Can't wait for Watford.
Dan Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Yaaaaaaaawn. No. ****ing rational people wouldn't have done. I actually think he raises a fair point, if this had happened at Middlesbrough there'd have been a lot more moaning. Fact is we're on form and we're showing more and more positive signs every week.
Matt Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Just sobered up. Great day and night, I think. Shame we couldn't get the win, we deserved the win but delighted with a point, especially as it puts us top and that in itself breeds even more confidence. We've got two home games coming up now and I don't want to tempt fate, I don't want to look to far ahead but you should be looking at win your home games if we are serious about a promotion push, get 6 points and we'll be flying. Come on City.
LCFC FOX Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Video of the end of the game if anyones interested

It's great to be top of the league but we really should be 2 points clear, a bit disappointing really. Glass half empty again MD? I actually thought some of the creative build up play in 1st half was excellent but see your points! I feel that the main contributing factor was we missed Vardy's tireless endeavour and the partnership he's striking up with Nuge. Them 2 harrassing and closing down defenders creates pressure further up field and frees Knocky up to roam more, sadly Waggy does not fit the bil in that role despite his undoubted effort.
marbelladave Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 I simply do not see why anything else needs to happen to get Knockaert into the game. He is the pivot of our attacking game, without his constant involvement our defensive players do not have anyone to hit and our attacking play lacks invention. NFP needs to get him into the central attacking role and needs to do whatever it takes to make it happen, if that means playing just one up, then so be it. Yesterday virtually all our best play came through him, but he was not involved anything like enough for my liking, after the break he was even less involved which is why I was thinking we were going to struggle to come back. I know I go on about it a lot, but we need to sort out our attacking play, I think all our front 4, whoever starts are doing really well as individuals but we are not getting the best out of them as a group. NFP has done exceptionally well to generate such a good footballing side from the dross of last season, but he needs to go all the way, drop his insistance on 4-4-2, the rigid deployment of 2 men up and men wide and truly bring us, as a team fully into the 21st century.
