What like renaming their ground to that of the owners Company....King Power....

I must have missed the part where we were relocated 60 miles away from Filbert Street. That's what I call drastic, not a silly name change.

So for money?

Wow. You blew me away there with your incisive insight into the information in the wikipedia article, pointing out its glaring faults.

I'm gonna step out of this one now because I've clearly met my intellectual superior.

I just can't see how you can stick up for Franchise F.C.

Everything that's wrong with football nowadays and you'll find it at MK Dons.

Everything that's wrong with football these days?

MK Dons are dubious over the whole location issue, but they're a team who play good football, a good academy that regularly produces first team players from it and extremely good ticket prices. They're hardly "everything that is wrong with football"

Before you start calling me a Winkleman sympathiser, I'm not. What he did wasn't acceptable.

Was at work but one question.

How come the AFC end was mental after they scored? What happened to none of them going? "Not lacing that cùnts pockets" etc.?

Fa cup so gate money is split so it was money in afc wimbledons pocket. They agreed not to spend anything in the ground.

Turned out they didn't care about the whole boycott thing after all. They were all buying plenty of stuff from the concessions stands etc. I'm glad that the game went off without too much of a hitch trouble-wise, although I've heard a few rumours. Not going to believe anything's happened unless there's proof though.

I don't know whether it's better than the first goal or not, it looks surprisingly intentional. All I know is that it made me happier than I've felt at a football match before. I found a selection of Gifs of the game which is pretty ayte.

It was unsurprisingly a tight and cagey affair, but played in the right spirit. I can only say thank you to AFC Wimbledon and those that did turn up for treating it the right way, as much animosity as there is there, there are ways of showing their distain for our club and support for theirs without it turning to violence against people barely involved. Hopefully the fact that this game is now in the past can go some way towards helping them focus more on taking their club further in the right direction. The fixture needed to be done with and for me, it's the best that could have come out of it and all parties are winners in this. I didn't expect us to completely take them apart, but I did expect a lot more trouble than there was.

To most neutrals watching the game probably wasn't that great, despite the special goals. But to me and most AFC or MK fans it was incredibly special and a day most of us won't forget.

Onwards to promotion now! 1354454317532.gif

Heard the AFC fans took a bit of a kicking afterwards as well, would have thought they would have been on top in that.

Don't really like either side tbh, MK for obvious reasons and AFC for thinking they are completely blameless for what happened to Wimbledon.

The only thing wrong with MK Dons is that they started too high up the league system. People with no association what so ever to Wimbledon or MK need to grow up and get the **** over themselves.

Nobody liked Wimbledon, even people from Wimbledon had no interest in Wimbledon. They were so tinpot they had to groundshare in Croydon and even though that's a piss easy commute via Clapham they still only got about five fans to watch home games even when they were "good."

A few wannabe "lads" wanking off over the crazy gang they aren't even old enough to have watched is just ****ing embarrassing. AFC are where they should be, lower leagues.

Winkelman is a nob but that doesn't mean the people of MK don't deserve a club and they currently have much better support than the Dons ever did so fair play to them.

When a club goes into admin and gets docked points we always say that's shit because its not the fans fault that the owners are crap. Well it's not the people of MK's fault their owner is a weapon.

Congratulations to them on their win and let them enjoy their football club without your bitter sniping over something that doesn't concern Leicester fans. Because, before we start preaching about modern football and the evils of money, let's remember that our recent success is all because we've become the posterboys of a Thai multi million duty free brand.

So many incorrect 'facts' in this thread.

The thing that annoyed me most about yesterdays game, apart from the late winner, was the MK Dons fans attitude. I don't blame them for supporting MK, but they should be aware of the circumstances of their clubs formation and accept Wimbledon's feelings on the matter. The banner at the end that read 'We're keeping 'DONS'...get over it' was out of order and only going to make tensions worse in the future.

I work for Wimbledon's sponsors SI and we have a very close relationship with them. They are brilliant club, fantastically run and with a great set of fans.

People in this thread should know the facts before spouting off.

because not every wimbledon fan thought that...and some who did boycotted.

I don't think anyone was by the looks of it, They only average a bit over 3,000 at home and they took 2,000 up to Milton Keynes on a Sunday lunchtime for a televised game.

All these wankers who have refused to go to MK the last few years in the form of solidarity with them must feel like right tits now lol

I live near Milton Keynes and reference the point in bold - the people of MK had plenty of clubs to choose from if they wanted a proper local club to back on its way through the pyramid. A lot of the dislike in the Beds/Bucks area comes fromt he fact that since they were transplanted here several local clubs have diminished. Yes my main gripe is the start in the pyramid - I would bet my house that if they started at the same level as AFC they wouldn't exist anymore.

Also ref support - attendances are ok but I know 3 ST holders, all of whom support other clubs in the main (this upsets me but its their choice) and one goes to Spurs when possible & gives MK ticket away. I think unless they get promoted interest will dwindle in the medium term, and hope it does.

I aslo think the 'keeping the dons' thing was a poor show. If Winkleman really was repentant he would remove the 'Dons'.

Anyway, this made me laugh;

What I heard was that there were some verbals before police horses moved in and led a load of AFC fans away from the front of the stadium, some of them then went over to Asda and started doing the same thing to people who weren't even at the match. A few things got bashed up etc but there's no official statement so I assume it's mostly rumour. All I heard from friends is that they actually got talking to a few AFC fans afterwards and had decent chats with them and it all went off in a very friendly manner, much as you would get at a normal match in the pub after a game.

About clubs in MK, the former incarnation of MK City, who did relatively well as a small club, were actually bought by Wimbledon FC many many years ago with view to a merger. They then dropped the idea and dropped the club after selling off it's assets and left it to die. The people behind the demise of Wimbledon were also behind the demise of the promising MK City FC.

With AFC pressuring us to drop the Dons I don't think it'll ever happen. I'd prefer if it did happen to be brutally honest, but I don't think anyone wants to be seen to be bowing to pressure from them. We gave the honours back to Merton Council and I think that's as far as we're every going to go.

They have definitely smashed the toilets in the away end and defaced some seats though. Shame really.

Hard bastards.
