promised land Posted 20 December 2012 Posted 20 December 2012 You'd have to be a bit of a tit to get there the 90mins before ko, its as long as the actual match! Anyone who has a child as a mascot, shake the shirt, guard of honour etc have to be there around 1-1:30.
Saxondale Posted 20 December 2012 Posted 20 December 2012 Roughly first 10% to arrive - I don't fancy my chances. Would stuff my opportunity for a tactical last fag before going in, anyway.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 December 2012 Posted 20 December 2012 Roughly first 10% to arrive - I don't fancy my chances. Would stuff my opportunity for a tactical last fag before going in, anyway. Which type?
K1FOX Posted 20 December 2012 Posted 20 December 2012 Whether the club offers something to the fans or whether they don't nobody is ever happy ! In all honesty, they're giving out free drinks to people who want to come early! So what ? Good on them! At least they are doing something and if we support it maybe they'll do more for us hey
JonnyBoy Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 you've got to be really really keen to be getting inside the ground at half 1, is that worth a free bottle of beer? not for me no

The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 Anyone who has a child as a mascot, shake the shirt, guard of honour etc have to be there around 1-1:30. my comment mean within reason 130pm usually im still at home
K1FOX Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 maybe we could all through confetti too at 1:45? Personally I wouldn't be there at 1.30 mate but it's just the club saying to the fans that doors open from 1.30, encouraging people to get there earlier and let's face it if everyone was in the ground by 2.45 we could get the place rocking !
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 you've got to be really really keen to be getting inside the ground at half 1, is that worth a free bottle of beer? not for me no some fans want to get there to savour the atmosphere ffs
dmayne7 Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 I love it how the owners decide to do something nice and instantly people find a negative and pull it apart. Bet you lot are a right barrell of laughs on christmas morning when you open your presents. HEY! That's not fair. These people have been working very hard for a long time to be so negative. It takes real dedication.
foxile5 Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 **** the lot of you miserable *****. I'm usually there at half eleven, sat outside the north stand chanting on me lonesome. I usually get a bit bored and dip off for a pint or three about twelve, but I'm back in time for the opening of the turnstiles.
bluefox88 Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 Whoever get's there at 1.30 is a sad sad person. It will still be cold, soft drink isn't going to warm people up. Where is the hot chocolate or hot milk. What are you, sponsored by f****** actaris or something? Drinking at the ground funds the club, you get a chance to watch the kids faces light up as they see their heroes coming through the car park, and it's called soaking up the atmosphere you freak. You are exactly the type of person who we don't want at our club. I bet you're one of those tools who stroll in at 3.10 and make everyone stand up because you've been busy watching Man United play at 1pm on Sky.

Catering money doesn't go to the club, the gig is paid for by an outside franchise. 2. Try and get better heroes for your kids than overpaid footballers, it's doesn't do them good. 3.
Mark_w Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 Whoever get's there at 1.30 is a sad sad person. I often get in the ground 1:30-2:00, it's hardly empty.
JonnyBoy Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 some fans want to get there to savour the atmosphere ffs  some fans want to get there to savour the atmosphere ffs  were at the KP not Galatasary's ground mate!
Guest MattP Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 I often get in the ground 1:30-2:00, it's hardly empty. Not knocking you, but I really don't understand why? Surely there are a million things anyone would rather do than sit in the cold watching our players warm up? It's bad enough watching them in the actual match sometimes.

Surely there are a million things anyone would rather do than sit in the cold watching our players warm up? It's bad enough watching them in the actual match sometimes. Parking is a bloody nightmare, so I try and get there just after 2. Not sure how this thread has become so negative, it's a nice gesture from the owners. Okay it may not cost them a lot but who gives a crap, it's free beer? Maybe I'm just thinking like a student...
Captain... Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 Christ there some clueless folk on this thread. What time do the turnstiles normally open? Have they opened them early for this offer? Are they really trying to get more money out of us, when they don't get catering money? Or are they simply offering up 2000 free drinks on a first come first served basis, as there is no other way fair way of dividing 2000 by 20,000? Nobody will come early just for a free drink, but those that come early anyway will get one, as will some of the latercomers. There really are some ungrateful fans.
Mark_w Posted 21 December 2012 Posted 21 December 2012 Not knocking you, but I really don't understand why? I don't know really, I quite enjoy it. It's not like I'm of an age to legally go drinking or anything yet anyway, it gets you out the house early and I quite enjoy watching the warm up, though I can see why a lot of people would think that's sad.

Soaking up the atmosphere, what atmosphere, there is no atmosphere at 1.30. Do I stroll in at 3.10, no I don't usually get there at 2.45, 15 mins before kick off. I often get in the ground 1:30-2:00, it's hardly empty. But why get there that early, just to sit for 1 hour and 30 mins, makes no sense to me. All you will do is sit down and watch the players train which isn't exciting. 2.00 is more understandable but 1.30, those people are mad.

All you will do is sit down and watch the players train which isn't exciting. Get something to drink, watch the televised match downstairs and talk to whoever you go with or anyone else who's around. The only thing I'd be doing in the space of time I get there before someone like you is post on Foxes Talk, which is arguably a lot, lot more sad. It's also what I imagine you do. When I get there it probably is closer to 2:00 and sometimes after that, but I have on a few occasions got there before that and it really isn't that bad.

Get something to drink - go to the pub, drink at home for free, bring your own. Watch televised match downstairs - People do have Sky, watch football focus or yet again stay at the pub I stay on here until the lines ups are announced, give my view then leave for the football at about 2.25-2.30, then get there for 2.45 or 2.50. Easy!

Easy! I'll just refer back to my initial post on the first page, some people can't set off at that time. What Mark said, I agreed with, and I can relate to that. We arn't all the same, and I personally would rather be at the ground instead of sitting on here until half past two.
