We have conceded exactly HALF the number of goals this season compared to the season these people were in the team... think I'll stick with this lot that most people don't seem to rate, but don't concede. ;)

I agree.

I did like Vitor though.

I can remember Vitor, liked him a lot, and for a foreign player he was very much committed and willing to graft at the smaller ground such as scunthorpe, when so many of our other players wouldn't.

I would still like us to go out and make a big signing and make a put other top sides in panic mode, some may say wood is this but IMO he is not.

Becchio has handed in a transfer request, while milwall have lost another one of their main players as henderson has joined forest.

Signing the likes of Becchio or trotter, especially becchio, would send a huge message out to cardiff etc. And if we were promoted, it would be one less signing we would need to make last season.

Becchio is vaguely above average and nearly thirty.

Never going to be much impact in the Prem, I'd be pissed if we spent much - or owt at all - on him.

I mean he'd be tidy backup if he were free but meh.

Vaguely above average?

He has a better record at leeds, than nugent and wood have at this level, and plays for a shocking leeds side.

Averaging better than 1 in 3, he would be a great signing. Always a real handful in every game he plays, always looks good against the top sides, and its always nice to have this type of player in your squad which most opposition fans shout abuse at.

Has an amazing work rate which people also look past, would be a great signing, and 3 options of nugent, wood and becchio would be incredible.

Good work rate but in my opinion, not a great player, especially considering we are looking upward now.

If we get rid of Futacs I wouldn't be adverse to signing Becchio but I think priority is signing a central midfielder that is if Wellens leave but NP is remaining tight lipped on that front

http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Transfer-news-Leicester-City-refuse-drawn-Richie/story-17951376-detail/story.html

But Pearson refused to be drawn on his plans for Wellens, other than to say he was now fully fitlb_icon1.png.

"Richie is fit and comes back into contention (for Huddersfield)," he said.

"We are not running on a massive squad. You will have to wait and see on that one."

By better you mean worse?

Becchio 15

Wood 16

Some of your posts remind me of that Stewart Lee sketch about the taxi driver argument 'well you can prove anything with facts can't you?' :D

Hes highest earner at Leeds, getting on a bit. Never played in the Prem. Half his goals are penalties. Hes gonna cost £2 mill plus surely. Chris Wood is a better all round striker. Just wouldnt be worthwhile paying him £20 - £25k a week. If we were to replace Futacs for any reason, Gary Madine would fit the bill. Doesnt play much at Sheff Wed, but with service im sure he'd stick a few in.

We don't need Becchio we have Wood and Nugent, we can't be throwing money on players who we don’t need.

We also have Futcus, Waghorn, Vardy, Beckford, Schlupp on the books, thats 7 forwards! We need to offload not buy more!!!!

yeah typical fans thinking something in the past is better than now.

The guy can't even get on the bench for his own first team.

Neither could Chris Wood....

He's starting for his own team.

If you take pennos off the top scorer charts, they look like this (includes cup goals as i can't find league stats for goals from pennos).

Austin 20

Wood 16

Murray 16

Rhodes 14

Vydra 14

Nugent 12

Becchio 13

If I could find whether the pennos were in the league Chris Wood could be one goal away from being the top scorer from open play in the league (if Austin scored his three in the league that is).

** Just noticed the stats on the this site seem wrong for Rhodes. I think he has more than what the amount they have him down.

Did chris wood get on the bench for his own team when contracted to WBA?

No. Because he was on loan to Millwall, starting in their first team.

I think you are missing my point.

FIF was saying Vitor isn't even getting on the bench at his current team, which I presume he means he's not good enough to play for us then.

I used Wood as an example. He wasn't even getting a look in at WBA, that doesn't mean he's not good enough for us.

The difference between the two is we know that Wood was on form and scoring goals in the league we are currently in. Vitor could be in terrible form for all we know, so you can't really compare the two
