Collymore Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Kasper Keane James Wood It's titanium. We've not got bad ribs either. When you look at that spine, you realise the work Nige has done quietly and now its starting to hit us in the face. Thank you Nige.
Lcfc_Shug Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Gotta include big Wes in that. Mr consistent and an ever present this year.

When you look at that spine, you realise the work Nige has done quietly and now its starting to hit us in the face. Thank you Nige. Surely Morgan? Best player this season so far.
Johnny Cash Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 You've included 2 players who have played about 3 games each for us and suddenly they're the spine of the team? Are you one of those who claim Wood to be a legend and Knockeart ball greedy? Fool
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 The spine seems to be Kasper Morgan Drinkwater Nugent as they seem to be the players who, when fit, will play every game.
Harry - LCFC Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 No Nugent, Morgan, Knockaert? Tends to play out wide, not really in the "spine" of the team as such. Still a key player of course but I don't think that's what he's getting at.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 I took the OP as Kaspers Keane on James's Wood
chrishlcfc Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Morgan is our key player, he has carried our defence for large parts of the season. nice to see keane playing well though.
absolutelegend Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Our spine has been; Kasper, Wes, DD, Nugent.

Are you one of those who claim Wood to be a legend and Knockeart ball greedy? Fool Well I could agree with you, but we would then be both wrong.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Isn't he talking about the future of LCFC? Having said that DD certainly fits that bill, and youd hope Nugent and Morgan should be here for a while in our first team
smelly-pooface1 Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 You've included 2 players who have played about 3 games each for us and suddenly they're the spine of the team? Are you one of those who claim Wood to be a legend and Knockeart ball greedy? Fool wow you are a freak. the players he has stated have been the spine over the last 3 or 4 games, the only thing id say is morgan instead of keane, other than that he is spot on
Fox92 Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 We were never going to make the play offs last season, just because Nigel was back. It was going to take time, he needed a summer as most of us pointed out. But to get rid of the players that weren't good enough, and to bring in players with quality for a reasonable price - I knew Nigel was always going to do that. You can link this to the January thread, just look at the quality of players and their prices, for Leicester and Hull. Nigel isn't a fool. He won't pay over the top, and he won't pay the player over the top. That's the way I like it. Hardworking, hungry, determined, strong. Pearson's attributes flow through the great team he is slowly building us.
brockmyster Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 How can you leave Morgan out he is our best player by miles, most consistant and is basically the spine of the team by himself!
Grey Fox Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 I think the reason we have done well over the last few games is because we now effectively have a double spine. What I mean is before we only had one CB (Morgan), one CM (DD), and one striker (Nuge) who you would say is a master of their own position (not forgetting KS in goal). Now we have Keane (CB), James (CM) and Wood (striker) to go along side the already strong spine, creating a twin spine, so to speak. For me it's no coincidence that since this happened we are looking so good (although still early days). All three of these new starters are making a positive difference to us in their areas of the field (IMO), which when added together is making us a very decent side. Long may it continue!
Grewks Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 I think when you look at our first eleven they are something else. Kasper - Best keeper at this level, considering his age aswell. De laet - quick, tall, strong, young, another great signing by NP morgan - Best center back in this league by a long way keane - can see why he is so highly rated by united, been more impressive for us than even cleverley was, am I right in saying we have only conceded 1 when he has played? And that was a consolation. Konch - No more expeirenced defender at this level, may not have been as good as last season, but his expeirence to de laet and keane is crucial. marshall - England u21, great winger, underrated because he is no longer scoring 40 yarders against chelsea every game. drinky - always finds space in the middle of the park, and often controls the game with ease. james - last few games have reminded me of michael carrick, great passer and reader of the game. knocky - The guy who can create something from nothing, the player which every team wants but cannot always get. nuge - every team has a player like him, not the greatest technically but will always give his all. wood - our holt/lambert. mobile target man who can finish, and has that bit of luck shown by his goals against brizzle.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes Shoulders, knees, HANDS and toes buddy.. C'mon..
TheUltimateWinner Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 If we're talking about who will always be on the team sheet, it would be: Kasper De Laet - Morgan Konchesky (In recent games) Knockaert Drinkwater James - Nugent Wood But the spine is... Kasper Wes DD Knockaert Wood Nuge
fleckneymike Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 If we're talking about who will always be on the team sheet, it would be: Kasper De Laet - Morgan Konchesky (In recent games) Knockaert Drinkwater James - Nugent Wood But the spine is... Kasper Wes DD Knockaert Wood Nuge Forrest Gump would be proud of that spine.
ACF Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 But Kingy has had a decent season as well, so it's harsh to leave him out
Grewks Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 But Kingy has had a decent season as well, so it's harsh to leave him out Not on current form. I think kingy was the reason we had a lot of inconsistency at times. We all know his nickname (the invisible man) and at times the midfield struggles when he plays. But James gets much more involved, and has a better passing range and can read the game better than king, at this moment in time.
