Lamby Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Who are they playing on Saturday? we need several favours off em til the last game Birmingham
Babylon Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 How far are they going to fall? They won't go down this year short of a spectacular collapse in form but clueless owners, little investment, managerial merry-go-round and an unsettled team are hardly a recipe for success. I'd imagine they have invested quite a bit when you look at the summer transfers, but it's looking like the pot is empty now !
damolcfc Posted 1 February 2013 Author Posted 1 February 2013 Playing Birmingham ....... Could be feisty :-)
Vlad the Fox Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 They pulled the plug when they realised he wasn't Kuwaiti.
goose2010 Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 George Boyd's move to Forest has fallen through because of a failed eye test. Rumour is he managed to wrestle his blindfold off last minute, realised where he was, and got the hell oughta there
Guest shearfox Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 This is how bad things can be with certain owners, they don't have a clue. At least our owners just allow Pearson to get on with things and sign his own players. George Boyd's move to Forest has fallen through because of a failed eye test. KFS Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Apparently a "bigger club with better promotion credentials" want to sign Boyd and are looking to set up the deal on the 9th (loan window?) -Posh Chairman on SSN.

To be fair there are plenty clubs bigger than Forest with better promotion credentials. League One is very competitive this season.

MooseBreath Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 They are a shambles from top to bottom. Embarrassing to see. Think they need to drop a couple of divisions and spend a few seasons collecting their thoughts before they attempt to exist sensibly in the championship again, they're well out of their depth in every way. Laughable.
MrSpaM Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 They told George Boyd they were signing him and left it til the last minute to tell him he'd failed his medical, even though they knew at about midday the deal was off. And after he failed his medical they tried to get him on loan again instead?!? Why would you try and get someone on loan after failing a medical?!? joke of a club, id be fuming!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Bet boyd didnt see this coming In fairness to Forest, I heard Boyd turned up at Notts County with his shirt on inside out... I bet people could come up with these all night.
Guest Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 I heard that Boyd walked into the Forest ground....... ......literally.
MC Prussian Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 Playing Birmingham ....... Could be feisty :-) The battle of who can pay less.
MooseBreath Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 I heard that Boyd walked into the Forest ground....... ......literally. Well that soon killed off the jokes. What a stinker. Deary me.
Alf Bentley Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 My Forest-supporting mate (I'm sorry) reckons that it might be an act of revenge. He reckons that Forest tried to tap up Darren Ferguson (before O'Driscoll) as their new manager during the close season, but that Posh got wind of it and blew it by going public - and that Forest were pissed off. Hence the "act of revenge" theory... Could be a credible theory to judge from this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18888108 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2167087/Nottingham-Forest-approach-Darren-Ferguson-angers-Peterborough.html
MC Prussian Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 More detailied info here (third-hand by now). Looks like the Kuwaiti owners know little to nothing about football and are undermining the club's structure on purpose or by sheer incompetence/naïve behaviour. Tampering with scouting reports, forcing the club to sign unknown players from the Middle East, approaching players they had never seen play before, ... Why else would they get rid of Lee Camp and go after some dodgy Kuwaiti goalkeeper? Feel really sorry for O'Driscoll after all of this - it seems he was not giving in to short-term results, but at one point simply had to.

If even half of this crap is accurate (and it does sound fairly credible), it is complete madness - and leaves me feeling sorry for decent Forest fans, and even for McLeish...not least as we all know that it could happen to any club, given the way money is often more important than sense in football these days... Would be interesting to hear from any Forest fans (Red Hux?) how likely this all sounds, and how much credibility this Wolf bloke has in Forest circles. The comments from others suggest that he's not just some complete maverick producing tall stories to wind people up (though 1 or 2 seem to think he might have an axe to grind through being too close to the Doughty regime)...
Leicesterpool Posted 1 February 2013 Posted 1 February 2013 McLeish is a terrible manager and in some ways better of without him but if he left now they'd have problems finding a replacement probably down to the owners!

This Wolf chap has about a 60% hit rate with ITK stuff. Although this stuff does have a ring of truth to it I've no idea what's true and what isn't. I am however certain that our owners treat people like shit and I don't care for it one bit.
