Leicester Piggott Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Sorry to change the subject, but who the hell needs 40 virgins? 2 or 3, yeah maybe. 40? Not so much. You'd spend all of 'heavenly eternity' with a headache doing random chores.

Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 There's a reason they're virgins too. Susan Boyle x 40. Presumably they are all wearing Burkhas though so looks are less of an issue.
Leicester Piggott Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I wonder if there's a Burkha King. Bet they've not seen anything like my Whopper! Etc.
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Sometimes I really don't have a clue what planet you're living on. I can see what he's saying, although I'm not saying it's relevant to this specific guy. Many people are highly influenced by different sorts of media, music, films and other entertainment in some way or another. I can imagine a tiny minority of youngsters being influenced by games like Ken said. When I was younger I've known violent people to copy stuff they've seen on tele in a fight for example.

Rincewind Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Look at the ads for the army. They make it look so exciting. For a bored young man with no future and unhappy home life it is an attraction and a way out. That is not to say others do not join for the career opportunities. I was not connecting the games to the guy specifically. It was sort of tongue in cheek.
Kitchandro Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I've got no problem with him for doing his job. I don't even have a problem with him saying he has no remorse for it. But the reasons he has no remorse don't sit right with me. Justifying killing because you judge people as bad is one of the worst reasons. It's seems strange he talks about god on his 'judgement day', yet he's decided to judge others before their time. He killed because he got paid for it, once you try to bring 'right and wrong' into things you lose all credibility. Also, I'm not sure how brave or heroic you have to be to shoot someone dead from a safe distance. Which is why I've never liked the term 'hero' to describe anyone in the army. Heroism is specific to individuals, not occupations.
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Where the poor buggers who dropped the H bomb on Japan psychopaths? I doubt it, I expect they beleieve like everyone else in their chain of command that it was the best way to stop the war. No they most likely weren't, but I think the people at the top who were striving to design and build it were. I forget the name of that guy who did the video after they'd finally done it. He seemed like a reet psycho to me!
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Ideas for implementing your violence I can believe. The desire not. I've known non-violent people become very violent over time in my younger days. They weren't born with the desire for violence. Not the ones I knew at least.
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Give me a pair of talented overly sexual slappers over fourty virgins any day of the week. And if it's my heaven who gives a **** how unsatisfactory my performance?!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I've known non-violent people become very violent over time in my younger days. They weren't born with the desire for violence. Finnegan Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Unsatisfactory for whom? Them, obviously. I'm not claiming to be stallion enough to make a Playboy model squeal but it's my heaven so they can lump it!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Them, obviously. I'm not claiming to be stallion enough to make a Playboy model squeal but it's my heaven so they can lump it! 95% of the time I'd probably just get them to suck me off while I sat back and smoked a bowl anyway, thereby completely removing the possibility of disappointment through a unfavourable self assessment.
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I like you, BlueBrett, you're a thinking man's pervert.
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 That will be frustrations and disappointments that has done that to them. Not computer games or tv. I'm not saying computer games are bad. I play them myself and have done for 20 years. But I have personally known people to copy violence from tv. All I was saying was that I don't think Ken's talking crap, and that a tiny percentage of kids will get a thirst for blood spilling from what they see in their entertainment. It's not all down to having had a hard life.

Carl the Llama Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Here's the video I was thinking of. Stone cold psycho if you arx me. Or was he upset and wished he never worked on the project? Ah Oppenheimer. Probably the best example of man's pursuit of knowledge gone terribly wrong. In answer to your question: A bit from column a, a bit from column b.

Sorry, but if our behaviour was influenced by video games a lot of people my age would have spent the last decade imprisoning animals in small balls and making them fight each other. Teenagers in the 80's would spend their life listening to repetitive electronic music while running round dark rooms, munching pills and fleeing from ghosts. This idea that video games cause violent behaviour is ridiculous.

Webbo Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 From what I hear that's exactly what they did. From personal memory I can assure you it was more squeezing spots and excessive masturbating.
Captain... Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 It is unusual for a man to be dragged from his car and shot and then get called a psychopath. Nobody here seems to have the slightest bit of sadness, pity or grief or even shock that 2 men were killed. Still it is better than an RIP thread. If he felt remorse for what he had done then he probably would have killed himself by now, he has to keep that cast iron belief that he did no wrong otherwise he would lose it. Believing in god probably helped him maintain that shield, that and rigorous army conditioning, probably not dissimilar to what Anders Breivik did to himself. I am intrigued by the circumstances of his death. It seems unlikely that it wasn't related to his reputation as a sniper, but I am more concerned by the guy who killed this 'psychopath' if I'm honest.
sphericalfox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I wouldn't call him a psychopath at all. Just doing his job. Then you clearly do not know the definition of psychopath.
