Corky Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Same old same old from Roy Hodgson. Welbeck over Agbonlahor. Oxlade-Chamberlain over McManaman. Who recently went a year without scoring. Hardly a goal machine that's been overlooked.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Who recently went a year without scoring. Hardly a goal machine that's been overlooked. He has 9 in the Premier League this season. Welbeck has 1.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 That Jake Livermore has played for England and Kevin Nolan hasn't is truly tragic.
Fox in the North Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 That Jake Livermore has played for England and Kevin Nolan hasn't is truly tragic. Agreed especially when considering the shift Nolan puts in every season.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Carroll pulls out of the squad. No replacement called up.WTF is wrong with Roy Hodgson.
Fox92 Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Down to 15th in the latest FIFA rankings. Worst ranking since failing to qualify in 2008. Least they get it right for once. ___ Top 10: 1 - Spain (1) 2 - Germany (2) 3 - Colombia (7) 4 - Argentina (3) 5 - Netherlands (5) 6 - Italy (8) 7 - Portugal (6) 8 - Croatia (4) 9 - Brazil (22) 10 - Belgium (12)
Dan Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 The world rankings are the biggest pile of shite going and anyone who actually gives a crap about them needs their head checking. Literally as much use as my FM world rankings.
HEGGSY Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Surely Brazil should be higher after their Confederations Cup win?
Jimothy Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Colombia 3rd best, just because of Falcao. Don't tell me you fancy him too!?!?
Bert Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 We all know they're a farce and don't really make a difference to anything.
Guest MattP Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Colombia 3rd best, just because of Falcao. Harsh, Colombia are a fine side. Definitely top 5 I'd say now along with Spain, Argentina, Germany and Brazil. Can't think of many better attacking sides in the World with Falcao and Jackson Martinez up front and James Rodriguez behind. centre back pairing of Parea and Yepes is quality as well. Make no mistake about it they are huge contenders for the World Cup next year with it being in South America. I watched them play the Argies off the pitch last month in Buenos Aires. Cer Worth a punt at 33/1.

They have a few good players playing in Serie A and a young forward called Quintero who plays somewhere in the Mexican league(Laguna rings a bell) who looks very promising. Not sure whether he's broken through yet mind.

Leicesterpool Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 There's no way teams like Belgium or Columbia are betting than England, they couldn't been watching the England and Brazil friendly. Draw 2-2 against them and then Brazil hammer Spain 3-0! Even though we haven't been great we should still be in the top ten, though i suppose that's roy hodgson for yer.
Corky Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Yeah but we drew with Montenegro and Ireland, which should push us behind Burkina Faso in all honesty.
purpleronnie Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 This sort of thing can only be a good thing:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OH3Onee9PU#at=54

I think they'd be underdogs against the Dutch & French too even if them pair did have a terrible Euros. Belgium are about to top a group with Croatia in. Colombia are about to top a South American qualifying group that contains Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. We are sat behind Montenegro and in a tight four way battle with them Ukraine and Poland. No wonder people think we are arrogant.
Leicesterpool Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Even though Brazil won the confederations cup, how can you move up from 22nd to 10th so fast. They caught Spain on there day off, another day Spain would have took them to bits, plus Brazil were at home. Despite that result i still think Brazil are at a low and better than England my arse! I'm not saying we're great, purely down to Hodgson's negative tactics and he doesn't convince me we can win the world cup with him, but I don't believe we being rated as poor as we we're under McClaren.
Corky Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Brazil have just won 5 competitive matches in a row, their points tally will have jumped quite a bit.

Think its 50-50 with the Dutch and Italy. I think they beat France. People need to remember the South America factor as well. It's huge. Most Europeans have never played there and a European side has never won a World Cup there.
Leicesterpool Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Spain proved that even the best european sides will struggle in south america.
