ScouseFox Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 I think we're all ignoring the main talking point here. Croatia?!?!?! What the fúck have they done recently? Why the hell were they ever 4th!!
Leicesterpool Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 I think we're all ignoring the main talking point here. Croatia?!?!?! What the fúck have they done recently? Why the hell were they ever 4th!! I know they even lost to Scotland recently?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Harsh, Colombia are a fine side. Definitely top 5 I'd say now along with Spain, Argentina, Germany and Brazil. Can't think of many better attacking sides in the World with Falcao and Jackson Martinez up front and James Rodriguez behind. centre back pairing of Parea and Yepes is quality as well. Make no mistake about it they are huge contenders for the World Cup next year with it being in South America. I watched them play the Argies off the pitch last month in Buenos Aires. Cer Worth a punt at 33/1. Yepes is still around?! Christ. They have some real quality throughout. I'm not sure if it was you talking about them in another thread, but Sanchez, Rodriguez & Perea and very good players. They have a few good players playing in Serie A and a young forward called Quintero who plays somewhere in the Mexican league(Laguna rings a bell) who looks very promising. Not sure whether he's broken through yet mind. Don't forget Jackson Martinez from Porto - an absolute beast.
Guest shearfox Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 I think 15th flatters us tbh. We have a long way to go, we have played well but only in the friendlies, we seem to not play the same way in the competitive matches. I think we would struggle against a lot of the sides in the top 30. Drawing games just isn't good enough, with the backing, momey and support we have we should be expecting a lot better. The FA needs to really sort it out
ScouseFox Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Top 15 is exactly right. We get to the last 16 of every competition every fúcking time. Usually last 8 too.* *All stats ignoring McClaren reign because the man is clearly a waste of oxygen

We may have to take backwards steps to start making the improvements needed.
Leicesterpool Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Here's one to thing about, since 2000 who would you have as the best to worst England manager. BEST: Fabio Capello (qualified for both euro's and world cup in style, world cup 2010 we we're dreadful but too many players let him down, i do believe we would have won the euro's if he stayed) Sven (Turned us around after a dark period, we're okay in the tournements under him) Roy Hodgson (We we're okay in the euro's, but at the moment it's 50/50 for us to qualify for the world cup at the moment, playing defensive negative football) Kevin Keegan (Not great) Steve McClaren (Just simply worst time to be an England fan), (took him two games to beat an non league team while at Middlesbrough)

He messed it up if anything, I could have got us to the last 8 with the team he had. Plus Scholes wouldn't have retired as I would have played him in his proper position

All I said was at the moment we are comfortably a top 15 side in the world and some of you need to give it a pissing rest with the "it's cool to hate England and go on about how bad we are" shite. We're not Brazil, Spain or Germany good, no. But we're not Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland bad either. Some of you need a reality check in the opposite direction to Leicesterpool. We're just a decent, quarter final team. Why is that so hard for everyone in this stupid country to understand?!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 CAPELLO - ( i do believe we would have won the euro's if he stayed) lolololol Funniest thing I've ever read on this forum

Capello, similar situation but a slighty better squad Sven, consistent in tournaments but had the best squad of players to work with by a country mile. Keegan - horrific Wally with the Brolley - to be below Keegan just says it all.
Kitchandro Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 We haven't had a decent England manager since Hoddle.
HEGGSY Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 England are shit. Get over it. We were over it along time ago. Well, I was.
Wymsey Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Not really Hodgson's fault, is it? He is picking the best team out of a rather small limited selection.
HEGGSY Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Not really Hodgson's fault, is it? Not at all. We were shit way before he came in.
Super_horns Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 Apparently if we stay where we are in the ranking we won't be in the top seeds for a potential World Cup and quite frankly we wouldn't deserve to be.
Finnegan Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vfqXR82u0E Lego Becks. Bafflingly missing the Sullivan lob but still funny, especially for the Argie red card and Owen's dive.
Aus Fox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 I think 15th flatters us tbh. Really? We're not at our best at the minute but who outside the top 15 is better than us?
Aus Fox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Apparently if we stay where we are in the ranking we won't be in the top seeds for a potential World Cup and quite frankly we wouldn't deserve to be. At least 2 if the teams above us won't even qualify for the World Cup. Greece and Croatia are in real danger of missing out
Guest shearfox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Rankings are always all over the place. They are no indication of quality that is for sure.
Finnegan Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 They are no indication of quality that is for sure. Yeah or you'd never be that high.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Yeah or you'd never be that high. Wales can only dream of being ranked in the top 15.
