ozleicester Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Saw the Jurassic Park topic and thought to myself.. ive never really seen it (the Mrs had it on telly once but i fell asleep). So which movies have you been told and told about... but just never bothered with? My first couple... Jurassic Park (zzzzzzzzz) Star Wars
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Star wars, star trek, harry potters, lord of the rings pretty much every film you could name i haven't seen it.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 The Great Escape. NEVER on at Christmas dispite what everyone says.
Bayfox Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Refuse to watch harry potter and lord of the rings. Never seen shawshank redemption.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Bayfox - I only saw Shawshank last year for the first time, it really is brilliant, give it a go I don't think I've seen a Star Wars in its entirety. Same goes for most sci fi or fantasy films, not interested. A lot of films I "should have seen" I probably haven't
Rocket-Ron Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 The Great Escape. NEVER on at Christmas dispite what everyone says. It's not that great an escape. Most of them die
Bettsj2 Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Top Gun. Dont think i'll ever watch it either.
pSinatra Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 I thought Jurassic Park was pretty crap & I've never bothered with the sequels. The same goes for Raiders of the Lost Ark. They were both 'ok'........ but there's no need to piss your pants. Refuse to watch Harry Potter & I've only seen the first Lord of the Rings. Apparently, I need to see A Clockwork Orange.......& I don't know why I haven't already?
Amin Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 The Godfather. It was on the TV not long back but I fell asleep near the start of the film (because I was knackered, not because it was boring).
Zingari Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 I've seen hardly any sci-fi ,super hero, sword and scorcery , fantasy, biblical epic type films , they just don't appeal to me , and I'm not likely to bother with them much now . "Gone with the wind" is a film i really ought to watch, but it's a bit long for my liking . EVERYONE should see JFK ( director's cut} , 12 Angry Men and Life of Brian ( there ought to be a law about this)
RobHawk Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Thanks for sharing information. Actually I had also the same question in mind for a long time anyways you started this thread & I am so happy. Never seen either of those 3! they any good? Douche!
SystonFox Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Jurassic Park was the first film i ever saw at a cinema. Fact for you there. As above i only saw Shawshank last year for the firsttime and its worth the hype. incredible. never seen any Harry Potter and never will. still not seen The Godfather or Scarface

It's on Sky movies all the while if you've got that. As for me: Reservoir Dogs (can never find it on TV) Fight Club Schindler's List (on my planner now) Forrest Gump (also on planner) The Longest Day The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Full Metal Jacket 2001: A Space Odyseey Snatch Downfall Inglorious Basterds The Sixth Sense Coll Hand Luke The Thing Trainspotting Star Wars (I can't say I'm overly interested but I have to see them just because they're so famous. Shockingly I've seen all 3 of the new ones, but not the old) ET (was terrified of him when I was younger, but that's not why I'm putting it off now ) The first third of Casino
BHAFC Braders Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Never seen any of the Indiana Jones or Star Wars , apparently I'm weird for not seeing them.
Finnegan Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Kitchensink needs to get himself LoveFilm asap.

Some fantastic stuff in that batch.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 I saw Flesh Gordon 2 at the Curzon cinema in Loughborough 23 years ago and STILL haven't got round to watching the original Flesh Gordon. It's no wonder I've got a to-do list as long as a baby's arm
Guest Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Too much snobbism in this thread. If you haven't watched a film then you can't say it's no good probably better just to STFU. I've seen every one of those sci-fi/fantasy films ridiculed above and I enjoyed every one of them.

Haydos Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 Shawshank is a genuine must watch. Probably my favourite film ever. Jurassic Park is a fantastic kids movie but has obviously aged. I haven't seen Pulp Fiction.

I didn't mean to imply that those genres of film are rubbish, just that they don't appeal to me personally
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 February 2013 Posted 19 February 2013 me neither, can't stand those sort of films........except star wars.....not sure why. Because you might like some of them if you gave them a try? To lump ALL fantasy/sci-fi as being the same is the same as saying all songs/tunes in certain genres of music are rubbish. This is clearly not true for either medium. Let's see... The Forbidden Planet is Shakespeare (and an awesome film) Alien is a horror movie with a more believeable premise than most in the horror genre. Aliens is a war movie with an immensese sense of impending doom throughout. Serenity is a clever blend of cowboy movie and piracy swashbuckling, with a great sense of humour. (As is its predecessor TV series Firefly.) Blade Runner is a detective film noir. Silent Running is a ecological morality tale. To say you wouldn't watch any Sci-fi/fantasy is to deny yourself some of the finest examples of other genres. Never judge a book by its cover, or films and music by their genres. It's just plain dumb to make sweeping generalisations and smacks of -ism.
