It's A Knockeart! Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 Does anybody else have any superstitions they have before a game, say a routine, a salute to a particular building or certain clothers they must wear to feel confident before a game? I, for example, wear the same shirt to every game until we lose, before swapping to another one. I've worn the full range a few times this year!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 I drink a minimum of 5 pints before and after every home game. Doesn't even bare thinking about what might happen if I didn't

Fatty Arbuckle Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 Doesn't it smell ????? Why would it smell? Even if this person went to every home and every away game, there's still more than enough time to wash it inbetween. I can't tell if you're just inventing extra bits to the story as you read it or are 'trying' to be funny!
Bugg Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 I always go through a certain turnstile, last time i went in a different one was Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and we all know how that turned out!

Deucalion Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 My first thoughts were that I don't do anything silly like this, until I realised that I do. I have one thing I must do and one thing I must not do to ensure Leicester will win a game. The thing I must do is, wait until I see the first Leicester player walk out of the tunnel before I start clapping before kickoff. If I don't do this, I could be clapping thin-air as no-one is there. Much worse than clapping thin air is clapping an opposition player or the referee. On occasion, I have seen blue and started clapping only to discover it is the mascot. This is always bad news and I have to be careful. My other superstition came about during the relegation to League One season. I managed to associate me wearing a replica top with Leicester not winning. These days I rarely wear a replica to to games, but if I do, we always fail to win. I cannot remember one instance of Leicester winning while I have been wearing a replica top, with one exception. I wore my Walkers Crisps top which I wore to the Palace playoff final to the Sunderland friendly in pre-season, and we won. So, errrmmm, no...no superstitions here !!
goose2010 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I always go through a certain turnstile, last time i went in a different one was Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and we all know how that turned out! same here even if there is a queue i will wait and go through that one! until we lose then i will try a different one sticking with that until we lose again. Crazy really and this one is strange if i see one magpie one the way to the game i will salute it
Fox in exile Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I always have to try and see a live Fox in the days before the game....and as we travel up from Dorset, whilst on route if my hubby sees a dead fox in the road or the roadside I have to cover my eyes so that I don't see it - as previously if I happened to see the dead fox we have lost! Sometimes I have to spend ages out in the evenings trying to see a fox, but just can't shake the superstition!!

Leicester_Numan Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I've never had a City superstition but I did have darts superstitions. To ensure we won the league, cups, tournaments etc, I had to wear a particular t-shirt on a particular night of the week. A flat full of trophies would suggest it worked but I know it's complete rubbish. Maybe I should try inventing a superstition for City games, you never know. T-shirts at the ready.
oli fox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 My dad is convinced that if we kick towards the kop first then we'll lose and its definitely a win if its the family stand first! Mental I know but he always maintains it
It's A Knockeart! Posted 14 March 2013 Author Posted 14 March 2013 Doesn't it smell ????? I wash it between games, civilised being that I am. Since doing this topic I've realised that when playing football, I have to put on my kit in a very particular order otherwise I feel uncomfortable. Maybe that's why I don't play for Leicester
StanSP Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Does anybody else have any superstitions they have before a game, say a routine, a salute to a particular building or certain clothers they must wear to feel confident before a game? I, for example, wear the same shirt to every game until we lose, before swapping to another one. I've worn the full range a few times this year! I wear an away shirt if we're playing at home, and a home shirt if we're playing away. Until it doesn't work and I'll mix it up a little. I always go through a certain turnstile, last time i went in a different one was Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and we all know how that turned out! Same. Sometimes I forget which one I have gone through previously and so I have to take a random guess. It's such a sad thing to do, such a sad thing anyway to think that we think it makes a difference! My dad is convinced that if we kick towards the kop first then we'll lose and its definitely a win if its the family stand first! Mental I know but he always maintains it Palace exploited that! And I think Forest did, too.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Everytime I go we get beat, home or away! Maybe I should avoid live city games for the sake of the team?
foxile5 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 When I turn out I always go and touch my named brick in the stadium wall.
TrentFox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 What I see when I read this thread is a) A whole heap of potential clients knocking at my door when their OCD gets out of hand and they can't leave the house without checking at least 5 times that they've turned the cooker off b) people who (if you believe it works) are aiding our club in continually being 'disappointing' by doing the superstitious stuff that perpetuates the crap results !! And yes, I always go through the same turnstile !!
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I always make sure I put my football socks (blue home socks) on before I do anything on Saturday morning.
EastNeukFox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 My dad is convinced that if we kick towards the kop first then we'll lose and its definitely a win if its the family stand first! Mental I know but he always maintains it Well that theory failed at the weekend, against Sheff Wed......!! Although I would agree we have had a number of poor performances when we don't get our way, and kick towards the family stand in the first half.
ReyAzarola Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 Not very superstitious usually and this does not really count as pre match but I refuse to throw this T-shirt out. It's pyjama material now.
Bayfox Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 I drink a minimum of 5 pints before and after every home game. Doesn't even bare thinking about what might happen if I didn't Have you tried watching us with no drink..... No you're right doesnt bare thinking about. For the record i have sex with my wife before every game. She thinks we win 6-1 every week are top of the league and dominating europe. Haha.
