norfolkfox222 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Just a bit of fun to take our minds of the depressing run we currently find ourselves in, me and my mate (norwich city fan) have been arguing to see which club has produced the better players over the years from their own youth acadamies, its got to the point where we have to list a starting 11 from our youth players. Who would be in yours?

Who would be in yours? Arguing? Norwich fan? Never. I bet he thinks they are the bigger club out of them and Ipswich too? Have the best fans in the country John Ruddy is England's number 1 and in the top five Prem keepers? I could go on all day.

Theres deluded fans then theres Norwich fans
TrentFox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Heskey and Lineker up top I presume? With Shilts in goal, that should already be enough to send your canary friend away to reconsider !
indierich06 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 It gets a little bit depressing after Shilts, Lineker and Heskey though. I suppose Piper, Gradel, Schlupp, Stearman and King would make the team too.
foxfanazer Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 It gets a little bit depressing after Shilts, Lineker and Heskey though. I suppose Piper, Gradel, Schlupp, Stearman and King would make the team too. loved Matty Piper!
AyewJoking Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 was joachim a product? he was mint! Thinking back, have we even produced 11 players??
Bugg Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 If we are going back a long time, didnt players like Graham Cross and David Nish come from Leicester's youth as well?
cc_star Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 gradel? One of my favourites is Joachim. Yes, his career didn't reach the heights for other clubs that he did for us... but this guy was bloody amazing for us, unplayable. A star for England U18's, U20's and played for U21s too. JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULIAN
norfolkfox222 Posted 19 March 2013 Author Posted 19 March 2013 so far ive got P Shilton R Stearman D Nish L Moore J Schluup J Joachim D Revie A King F Mcklintok G Lineker E Heskey bit desperate in some areas. not much research done tho
Zingari Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Looks pretty good norfolk I'd probably have Graham Cross in defence, move Nish to LB , drop Stearman
mikey54 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Steve Whitworth, Larry May - two good defenders imo
dynamark Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Mick Duffy,Steve Whitworth,Nish,Gary L,Martin and Graham Capewell,(WHO!)Dave TomlinThe lad whos dad was in Showwaddywaddy,Few names from the past for you
okie fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 McLintock was signed from a Scottish club when he was about 19.
okie fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 When did Leicester City first have a youth academy?
dynamark Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I think citys main feeder was called Blaby Boys club.Seemed to have all the lads who did well .Lineker was Alyestone Park.
kingfox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Surprised nobody hasn't mentioned Levi Porter yet. You should all be ashamed.
DontSellKnockaert Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 so far ive got P Shilton R Stearman D Nish L Moore J Schluup J Joachim D Revie A King F Mcklintok G Lineker E Heskey bit desperate in some areas. not much research done tho Andy King didn't come through our academy he came through Chelsea's.
Narborough_fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Probably get shot down for this but... Joe Mattock? I know what he's done since he left has left a very bitter taste in the mouth, and he's a bit of a thug BUT when he played for his he really was quite good and I, personally, thought he could become a very good left-back. Waste of talent, and an example as to why you shouldn't leave the club you know at to young an age.
evs_the_fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Nish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (add infinitum) Mattock.
ScoutMan Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Stefan Oakes was decent and O'Neill really rated him.
Narborough_fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Nish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (add infinitum) Mattock. I wasn't around when Nish played. He's certainly better than Schlupp, for left back, though.
