ousefox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Wouldn't want Fryatt back at all. Not as good as Nugent or Wood.
Burbage Fox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Not for me. Fyratt has lost any pace he had and Hobbs is no better than what we have.. its irrelevent as if we dont get promoted then Pearson wont be here anyway
dmayne7 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I study in Hull and there's a double page spread in today's edition of the local rag on Fryatt. Very highly rated up here and Bruce often says that Hull would be top if they had him fit from the start of the season. Interesting to see the difference of opinion. Personally, I'd have him back. Yeah same here and I saw that. Giving away free tickets today so might go and cry at watching Hull getting promoted
Jace Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Yeah same here and I saw that. Giving away free tickets today so might go and cry at watching Hull getting promoted Sad that Hull have to give away free tickets to people to get a crowd to watch them get promoted
kingfox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Utter tosh! Hobbs and Wayne Brown were the bedrock of a defence that leaked very very few goals. Look back and see just how tight we were that season. Yep we were good that season. But of the way he played, he was similar to Mills, and I don't like defenders who play that style of football. Was too no nonsense for me, and was keen to play hoof ball.

Fryatt was decent when he was down here, good hold up play but would never want him back, Wood, Nugent and Schluup would be ahead of him any how.

Wood, Nugent, Schlupp and Fryatt, is surely better than Wood, Nugent, Schlupp and Vardy/Waghorn/Futacs. I still think Pearson likes a big centre foward and a man playing off of him, Hence the Wood/Schlupp combination at the moment. Personally I don't think Nugent (or Konchesky) will be here next season as they are massive earners (along with Danns, St Ledger and Beckford, who will all go)

Im sure there are better players out there.
kingfox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 There is only one central defender I would like to see back, and that is Miguel Vitor. As I have said many times before, this lad was a cut above that season.

As I have said many times before, this lad was a cut above that season. Have to agree there. Seems such a shame that (according to Wiki) he doesn't seem to be getting a look in at Benfica. I know it's highly unlikely given that he wasn't one of Pearson's players, but if we can't keep Michael Keane then I'd absolutely love to see a CB partnership of Morgan and Vitor. A man can dream!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Do do do do Matty Fryatt is a very intelligent footballer in the football sense at least and Hobbsy isn't a bad player either
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I f we get promoted I will kiss Pearson's arse!
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Hobbs was the player of the season of a team who finished 5th. Struggle to see how he couldn't be viewed as a good player. I was fairly upset when he was transferred to Hull.
Happy Fox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 No thanks to either player we have got better options now.

I was fairly upset when he was transferred to Hull. Another Sven calamity. Hobbs was replaced by Mills because the latter was a 'footballing defender' apparently.. Of course, many on here, swept up by the Sven Revolution, hardly batted an eyelid. IMO we sold our best young defender in years for what? A million ish? And signed Mills for 4.5 million? Good bit of business there eh? It's come back to bite us on the arse good and proper.

Still only 24 and seems to have much to offer. People commented at the time that he didn't seem as good when Sven came in. Perhaps Pearson would be able to get more out of him, they do seem like two personalities who would get on well together. I'd certainly give him a chance if he returned.
Dan Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I'd take both depending on their wage. We definitely need a centre half to replace Keane next year and I think Hobbs could actually be the man.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Both Hobbs and Fryatt in the starting 11 for the team who look like they are going up automatically. And people still yearn for the fookin Swede.
Lcfc Jordan Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 shocking how uneducated people are on here, both these players would make us a better team stop being so silly!
oxford blue Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 We definitely need a centre half to replace Keane next year and I think Hobbs could actually be the man. I'd prefer Ben Mee from Burnley - could improve so much next to Morgan. However, if we get at least a point tomorrow, no reason why we can't get promoted, so the whole thread is IF....
