MGLCFC Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 we are not promoted and Hull are and IF Pearson is still here, anyone think that Fryatt (to partner Wood, similar to the Howard/Fryatt partnership) and Hobbs will be signed again? I'm not suggesting that I want this to happen, but can see it happening as Fryatt amd maybe Hobbs won't be good enough for the Prem and therefore surplus to requirements at Hull!.
Buzzell Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Could be a possibility. We all know Pearson likes the both of them. Out of the two I'd like to see Hobbs back.
MGLCFC Posted 19 April 2013 Author Posted 19 April 2013 Fryatt did score 16 goals in his first season at Hull and Pearson likes him when partnering a big centre forward. I can see Nugent (and Konchesky) leaving in the Summer in a drive to get wages down and I've just got a feeling Pearson (if still here) really rates Fryatt as a striker. (He can hardly be any worse than Vardy or Waghorn)
goose2010 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Hasn't be been injured all season? sounds like an injury that could easily finish his career or at least drive him down to league 1 to be honest. Would be a massive risk and I don't think NP would do it. Personally i wouldn't want him back after the way he reacted when he scored against us.
indierich06 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I'd take both back to be honest, especially if Hull flog them on the cheap. Fryatt's easily better than Waghorn, Vardy, Futacs and Schlupp. When Pearson was here the first time around, Hobbs was much better than SSL or Whitbread have been for us.
MGLCFC Posted 19 April 2013 Author Posted 19 April 2013 According to BBC website Fryatt has had a bad ankle injury, but played a part on Tuesday - not sure Pearson would go in for him again, but he's better than our current crop of back up strikers.
yorkie1999 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 You can keep your head while all about you are losing theirs.
bluesbrothers Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Well Hobbs is about comparable to Morgan and Keane, but with a head like a 50p that inevitably sends the ball over the bar when he goes up for corners. That said, yes, I'd put in a bid if we can't hold on to Keane in the summer, because he's defensively sound - you have to be to be a regular in a defence nailed on for promotion! Fryatt, not for me. Still rate the guy, but he's blighted by injury these days and it could cost us.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Will leave our glorious leader to decide these things

Completely agree Fryatt's injury could see him return as a lesser player though? He was never quick anyway and if he's lost any more pace he'll maybe struggle.
Babylon Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Well they have been better than anyone we signed to replace them. Never go back and all that though.

I'm sure Pearson and his staff would do a full assessment and medical if they were going to sign him anyway and they know his game well enough by now to judge whether the injuries would affect him.

You would hope so, of course.

Maybe Hobbs if Keane doesn’t stay. But Fryatt….for the love of god no! Would be a step back and he offers nothing that we don’t have already have. 0 pace and is also blighted by injury
dmayne7 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Can't see Hobbs dropping down because I reckon Bruce will keep him. Even Fryatt, got thrusted back in pretty early and they reckon he might start tonight so again seems unlikely that either would be available, let alone us making an approach.
Roger Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I study in Hull and there's a double page spread in today's edition of the local rag on Fryatt. Very highly rated up here and Bruce often says that Hull would be top if they had him fit from the start of the season. Interesting to see the difference of opinion. Personally, I'd have him back.
Fox92 Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Can't see Hobbs leaving, still think he could be a decent Premier League defender. Like McAuley. Would take Hobbs back though, very good defender at this level. Hated it when we sold him, especially with how much we got for him. Way better defender than Mills and Bamba.
kingfox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 I flaming well hope not. Never rated Jack Hoobs, overrated to the core, he was like Matt Mills, but had more quality, but I still didn't rate him. Fryatt lol

Hobbs and Wayne Brown were the bedrock of a defence that leaked very very few goals. Look back and see just how tight we were that season.
