purpleronnie Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/article/play-off-semi-final-away-leg-801736.aspx In the event of playing Crystal Palace in the semi-finals, the following conditions of sale have been agreed by the two clubs, the Metropolitan Police and Sussex Police: 1. You must be a season ticket holder to purchase a ticket and only one ticket will be available per season ticket holder. 2. Your details and seat number will be made available to Crystal Palace FC, the Metropolitan Police and Sussex Police. 3. The ticket may only be used by the purchaser. 4. All away fans must carry a separate document which confirms their identity. 5. You agree to hand over your ticket and identity document for examination by a police officer or steward at the stadium or en route to or from the stadium. 6. Failure to produce the ticket and an identity document for examination will result in refusal of entry to the match and any future matches this season. 7. There will be a one year exclusion for anyone who is found to have handed over or sold a ticket to any other person. 8. There will be a one year exclusion for anyone who is found in possession of a ticket issued to another person. OTT or reasonable considering recent trouble between fans?
Guest MattP Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Completely OTT and a outrageous infringement on a persons liberty.
Captain... Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Can somebody remind me why these 2 small clubs miles apart give a shit about each other.

Floating Fox Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Well over the top!! Their rivalry isn't even that intense! Probably a sign of things to come.....I wouldn't be able to go forest if we imposed the same restictions for this weekend!
Jon the Hat Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 No one has to attend, they have a choice. Personally I would boycott with that sort of draconian rule set in place. What will they do if Season tickets holders dont buy all the tickets?

I share your sentiment, but it's difficult to have such principles in a play-off semi final against your big rivals, you must admit. Same with ticket prices.
Floating Fox Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Have the same draconian rules for non-st? ITs tough because a boycott is the right thing BUT its the biggest game of the season and could be epic for them.
purpleronnie Posted 2 May 2013 Author Posted 2 May 2013 I wouldn't go under those circumstances whether it was the biggest game for years or not. I guess it depends on how much those restrictions bother you.
Captain... Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 http://www.guardian....-palace-rivalry Bloody hell, that is some intense stuff, I mean a retaken penalty and a piss poor ref, men have gone to war for less... *cough* tinpot *cough*
Super_horns Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Seems harsh but maybe the police just think every football fan is a potential thug?
Haydos Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 While I think it's OTT is there that much of a problem taking some ID with you. I doubt they'll be stopping every other person. Don't agree with the details being made available to club and police though.
Lamby Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Doesn't virtually everyone carry ID anyway? Not OTT in the slightest
purpleronnie Posted 2 May 2013 Author Posted 2 May 2013 Doesn't virtually everyone carry ID anyway? Not OTT in the slightest I guess you live up to your name. Baaaaaaaaaaaa
Lamby Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 I guess you live up to your name. Baaaaaaaaaaaa This makes no sense to me what so ever
Guest MattP Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 This makes no sense to me what so ever It means you are a sheep who will do and act however the authorities want you too providing you can see your team. Anyoen who would go to a game with these restrictions on them deserves to be treated as sub-human.
ScouseFox Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Hardly that stressful for any visiting fan. You have a wallet with a license in it, when you give in your ticket (like every game ever) you might be asked "is that really you" and you go "yeah here's my id mate" and you go in. Seriously is that a massive task? Is it worth boycotting your biggest game in God knows how many years? Because you don't want to flash your driving license at someone who's already stopped you to check your ticket?

Not if you value your freedom of movement and the right to support your football club without harrassment, no.
LanguedocFox Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Not if you value your freedom of movement and the right to support your football club without harrassment, no. I'm with you. It pisses me off when I get a video camera shoved in my face when I go to matches: FFS, I'm 67 and never had more than a speeding ticket. The only game I have seen this season was the 1-1 draw against Brighton at the Amex, and it was one of the best days out I have had in years: great fans, lots of chat, and no trouble at all. And when I lived in Sarf Lahdahn I went to Selhurst Park loads of times and never had a hint of trouble. Seems to me it's more demonisation of football fans by willy puller politicians and the police. If they did that to us, I'd hope we would boycott the match.
