The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 May 2013 Author Posted 7 May 2013 Prices start at £60 per ticket and go up to £330 for the top category, a shock for German fans used to much lower prices for Bundesliga matches. Fans could end up paying more for a ticket for the Wembley final than they do for a season ticket in Germany where modern stadiums have low-cost standing areas.

Even though I agree with their method, something inside of me smiled at the fact they have to pay more. There's a sort of irony about their fans paying the prices while their respective Chairmen are banging on to the media about their superior method. Maybe they can afford it with all the savings they've made this year from the dirt cheap season tickets!

Maybe they can afford it with all the savings they've made this year from the dirt cheap season tickets! I don't really see the connection - German teams have German ticket prices. The fact that Wembley's huge building and maintenance costs need to be covered and made a return upon, have little to do with their pricing policy. The fact that they do ticket prices for standing areas for a lot less money compared to the prices in the UK makes their policy very likeable. It's a rip-off, although I doubt it would've cost considerably less at a different venue for the final.
Bert Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Spoke to a Dortmund fan that was at our game Saturday. He is a season ticket holder and has a 5% chance of getting a ticket. Members who possibly haven't made a game all season stand the same chance as him of getting a ticket.

I didn't realise it untill looking up on it all, but German football has got everything right. The owners care about the fans, they understand the importance of that, and 70% of Bundesliga footballers are German (as apose to our 35% - or whatever it was).

Thats because the owners are the fans. 51% rule.
Kitchandro Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 36,000 neutrals is a disgrace. There's more neutrals than fans of each team.

Guest BlueBrett Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 36,000 neutrals is a disgrace. There's more neutrals than fans of each team. It's the sole reason they wanted to have the final at Wembley again. Nice and convenient for all the corporates and 'celebrities'
ScouseFox Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Glad to see glory hunters exist in German football too.
ScouseFox Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Also surely this is more expensive than they want? Why aren't they boycotting?
AdamN Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Also surely this is more expensive than they want? Why aren't they boycotting? What would a boycott achieve? It's going to sell out, regardless, and there's no guarantee that either team will ever reach the Champions League final again (however unlikely), so if I was a fan, I'd be desperate to go. I wouldn't be up for passing up a possible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity just to give UEFA a middle finger that they'll never notice. 24,000 allocation for each side is horrendous, though. I'll admit that as a neutral (albeit, with a soft spot for Dortmund) I'd love to go, but I'd feel incredibly guilty if I was denying a die hard fan the opportunity to go. Such shameful disregard for the fans of both sides.
C-man Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 There was a Dortmund fan in the Leicester end on Saturday? Was he lost? To quote said Dortmund fan: 'The glory isn't in getting to a CL final. It's about beating your rivals away in a full stadium in the second league where you can't feel your legs until you get home'
