Fox92 Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25998021 The head games from Mourinho continue . He's annoying. Also said no other clubs can keep up with Manchester City without FFP (suggesting they buy every player). While I do agree, Mourinho doesn't exactly use a tight budget does he.

While I do agree, Mourinho doesn't exactly use a tight budget does he. He's great value . In the past no although can't really say that since he's rejoined Chelsea the sale of Mata has sort of balanced his books. Whilst Roman liked to splash the cash I think City have taken it to another level. And Mourinho did win things with his big budget as he's pointed out one prem title and a FA cup isn't much of a return on their investment.
Uncle Albert Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Shocking from Toure yesterday, schoolboy defending. Hard to be to harsh on him, been brilliant the majority of the season and we literally have nobody else to play centre back. Makes the decision to go for Konoplyanka even more ridiculous. We should have killed the game in the first half yesterday, when West Brom were truly awful. No chance were they going to be that bad for the whole 90 minutes. Another missed chance, could of gone 1 point behind Chelsea and 4 ahead of Everton and Spurs but now we're only 2 points clear of Everton, 3 behind Chelsea and playing Arsenal on Saturday.
One Legged Beaver Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26000458 If what has been reported here is legit then it is truly odd that; a) He signed him the first place. b) He'd say these things to the media and possibly demotivate the players.

Is that home or away? I think at Anfield you'll be alright. Emirates, not so sure. Nullify Giroud and Cazorla, though, and Arsenal struggle.

StanSP Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 At Anfield on Saturday mate. Easier said than done regarding Cazorla. Need Sakho back ASAP. Need to get shot of Cissokho, too. Strikes me as a liability down that left-side. Pretty sure Pepe Mel saw and took note at HT, must have told his players to target him in the second half cos they created so much by giving little 1-2's around Cissokho. Kelly fully-fit now? Better off playing him RB and sending Flanagan back to LB I think.
AKCJ Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Looking forward to Chelsea's 19th century football tonight.

Yeah damn right, Rodgers said in his press conference last week he is not happy with the rate that it is taking for Enrique to return, Cissokho is a liability. Kelly is alright, not mobile enough for the way we play to be a full back. Honestly don't think he will ever make it with us after this recent injury, looks to have declined his potential massively.
Leicesterpool Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 So it's the big game tonight! come on Man City , 2-0 City i think. Going to be really tight.

Leicesterpool Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 To be fair, they aren't title contenders. Yeah, I'd like to see them win it but at the minute their priority should be finishing in that top 4. It's step by step for Liverpool, I seriously think though they need to spend big in the summer to stand any chance of getting any success in the champions league, looking at that squad a tough draw in the qualifying round and they could be straight out, they've got a good squad at the moment but it doesn't look good enough for the champions league.
Unabomber Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Looks like Hypocritinho has named a defensive side as expected, I hope City get an earlyish goal to at least go some way in opening the game up a bit.
ScouseFox Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 It's hardly revoltingly defensive. 4 at the back, 3 central midfielders and 3 attacking players. Pretty standard. Not sure why everyone expects him to go to a place that everyone gets battered and try and play like 4 up top and take the game to City, because he knows if he does that they'll probably get twatted. Hoping for a Chelsea win. Edit to add - Demichelis is playing centre mid for Man City, that's more defensive than anything Jose has picked.

Jimothy Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Demichelis in midfield?!? I know Fernandinho is out, but surely as the richest club in the world, they have another midfielder to fill in. Javi Garcia? James Milner? Demichelis is a crap centre back, let alone midfield!

Javi Garcia? James Milner? Demichelis is a crap centre back, let alone midfield! He did well at Man City when he moved into midfield so that could have something to do with it. He will also sit deeper than other possible players and allow Yaya to push on.
Jimothy Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 He did well at Man City when he moved into midfield so that could have something to do with it. He will also sit deeper than other possible players and allow Yaya to push on. Still I would rather see more mobile players in there. Mr Versatile James Milner would be perfect to fill in there, it's just the job for him.
Unabomber Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Still I would rather see more mobile players in there. Mr Versatile James Milner would be perfect to fill in there, it's just the job for him. Yeah it is pretty surprising, but Pellegrini seems to know what he is doing.
Unabomber Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 "Man City looking for a ninth consecutive win" Pfffft only looking?
Jimothy Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Yeah it is pretty surprising, but Pellegrini seems to know what he is doing. Hmmmm I think Negredo, Aguero and Dzeko scoring a bucket full have got Demichelis out of jail a few times. He's been shocking at the back at times and when you've got Nastasic available and Lescott too who's never let City down, it's madness letting that liability play at the back. That's the only saving grace having him out of the back 4.
One Legged Beaver Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 That's not a massively defensive line up from Mourinho, the most defensive part of it is having Eto'o up front, United game aside he's been pretty dire all season and personally think Torres offers a lot more than him. I have a feeling that Aguero missing is going to have such a negative effect on Man City, just can't see Dzeko worrying that Chelsea defence in the slightest. Chelsea to nick a goal on the break and win it in a true smash and grab style.
AKCJ Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Man City are irresistible at the moment. That passage of play was just too good.
Unabomber Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 David Silva has been on another level this season.
