mr pearson should stop being so bloody arrogent and try to sort any problems out with the likes of beckford and danns ,just to name a couple of players that dont suit,st ledger is another weather you like him or not,if he would just get down to talks ,draw a line under any arguments ((((there gone now)).im sure we would have a good side to start the season.pearson has to stop being a mardy arse and thats just sums the guy up .if he cant handle big name players he should to put it bluntly piss off.

Has Robinson ever got rid of high earning players before? seems a bit pointless to appoint him if he hasn't got a record of bringing in players or getting rid of high earning players.

If not just appoint Alan Sugar and be done with it! lol

Nothing has been said about him bringing players in, only that he is "to move on the players Pearson has identified as surplus to requirements in order that the club can adhere to the new Financial Fair Play rules"

A lot of people should not even be allowed to use the internet.

Don't shoot me down, but I really don't think we're going to sign anyone.

And I'm not saying that because I'm getting impatient or desperate for (ANY) news like a lot on here. That's not the case at all.

I honestly believe nobody will be brought in during this window.

That depends on whether any bids come in for others players over the coming weeks, Kas for instant there must be other clubs sniffing around him.

Its early days yet. Still plenty of time!

Maybe beckford has reliesed he could reach premier league again with us after seeing how close we came in playoffs and wants to stay and has/having talks with Pearson?

I don't know full reason of the fall out last year as maybe it was poor attitude or just had to clear some of his wages off for a year!

Pre season training and who plays the first few games will be interesting

First and foremost Sean St Ledger, Neil Danns, Matt Mills and anyone else he has "fallen out with" are not big names. The only one remotely being a "big name" is Beckford (on the back of doing well in league one... he hasn't scored 9 league goals above that level so big name is stretching it still). He certainly isn't as big a name as Konchesky, or Nugent and probably not Kasper thanks to his Dad. So lets stop this nonsense that he can't handle big names.

Secondly, Beckford asked to leave as he was not prepared to sit on the bench. That's his choice, I am ok with that, but lets not make out he was forced out.

Lastly, unless you have been living under a rock (it's possible) you will know we cannot afford to keep average players on huge wages. That's what these players are, it's not arguments that need sorting out, it's their removal from this club. Whether it be Pearson in charge or another manager.

It was an impression of Beckfords car as he ****s off to another club.

Does anyone think that the coming season could be the one in which Jermaine Beckford turns his 'potential' into goals for the club?

Will he be played? Will he stay?

An in-form Beckford, utilised correctly, could surprise us all....

How Wood finished last season (yes I know he got twenty goals) worried me.

Is Pearson going to try to get the best out of Beckford? Or is it too late?

Opinions please....

You make me want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon.

How is this any different to any Beckford threads? Did a new one seriously have to be started? He'll be sold this transfer window. Really cannot see him being here after deadline day.

The annoying thing is that that these so called "dead wood" players are only that because the current manager can't work with or utilise them. Personally I think Beckford is a prat of the first order. However, Martin O'Neill rescued Stan Collymore when nobody would touch him with a barge pole, made Frank Sinclair (and others) an asset to the team and revitalised a (finished) Tony Cottee.

If the owners don't have the money to offload  these players Pearson is unable to use then perhaps it is he that needs offloading for someone who can. Just a thought!!

Well that's the alternative argument isn't it..

Not that you'll get any change on here with having that thought...

He wont play under Pearson. Same goes for Danns.

other than Kasper we won't get rid of any top earners.

As only prem clubs could afford the wages and none are good enough.

If the DoF's remit is to get rid he will be gone before most of them are.

You should all face it we are stuck with them like I was saying we would be last year.

never thought he was all that at leeds, just good at feeding off a target man which we dont have. I dont understand where this whole "beckfords a great player but bloody, useless pearson is making him play crap!!!!!" thing came from, he had a handful of good games but not nearly enough, a fully fit wood will be much more effective as we saw when he first signed.

The difference is Collymore had talent, Beckford has never scored more than 9 league goals in a season in the top two divisions....

People that think Becford, Danns etc are big names, show their limited football knowledge. Average to lower championship players at best and past their prime.

This.

Logan will be the replacement between the sticks & we'll promote a few of the (more ready) academy players to fill the holes & toe the FFP line.

I remember how excited I was when I first heard we were signing him...certainly not lived up to the hype and think he should be gotten rid of.

I'm really not too fussed either way, however, if we can't get rid he could be like a new signing, meaning that the season before last when he was getting slated he was playing poorly in a team that weren't creating a lot of chances, if he had been played last year when we were my opinion is that he could have got a few goals, increased in confidence and gone on to be one of the top scorers in the league.
