Guest Col city fan Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Does anyone think that the coming season could be the one in which Jermaine Beckford turns his 'potential' into goals for the club? Will he be played? Will he stay? An in-form Beckford, utilised correctly, could surprise us all.... How Wood finished last season (yes I know he got twenty goals) worried me. Is Pearson going to try to get the best out of Beckford? Or is it too late? Opinions please....
LCFC FOX Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Will not happen, Beckford and Mills are on the same level to Pearson
Dan Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Wouldn't even be surprised if he ended up forcing his way back into the side due to lack of options but I fully expect the same lack of effort, poor control etc... that we got before. Liability and paid to be a star. I'd be as excited selling him as I would by any signing.
leicesterisme Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Deserves another chance certainly On what basis may I ask?

I'll crack open my limited edition anniversary pack of Werther's Originals the day he leaves City.
Fox92 Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Can't see him leaving because of the wage issue. I think a confident Beckford could score a few for us. I watched last years season review dvd again yesterday, and when he plays to his best ability, like at Norwich away, he looks like a decent player. He's certainly worth another go if the likes of Waghorn and Futacs are.
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 I'd rather not. We're better off without him here IMO, just don't think he'll play to his maximum here.
GorlestonFox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Probably deserves another chance. But having said that has it not already been said that the incoming DOF's main task is to shift the big earners... surely he'd be first to go without a sound from
Lasty Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Sell him, sell Waghorn, sell Vardy, sell Futacs. Amen to that, Brother.
Captain... Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Please can we sign someone, I can't take any more Beckford threads, unless there is any news or an actual statement from the club, or Beckford is there really any point going over old ground.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Hope he stays, but can't see it happening. High wage earner, with ability that Pearson can't harness. Pearson can't handle him anyway, so sadly I think he will go.
Kitchandro Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 I feel like when I'm about to die and my life flashes before my eyes, it will just be images of Col's Beckford threads going through my mind.
GingerrrFox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Two choices. 1) Play him incur the extra fee we have to pay Everton and give him another chance. 2) Sell him to whoever is willing to meet our fee but pay off compensation on his loss of wages because nobody is gonna pay him what he's on here. Personally I'd rather go with the first option.

theessexfox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 If we have to pay Everton extra for one more appearance, no. If we can't shift him and we don't have to pay extra, worth a go.
GorlestonFox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 He could STILL be the top striker? Or could he? Whaddya ya reckon? I agree. He's not that bad once he gets going. Just can not for the life of me seeing him doing it in a Leicester shirt

Don't shoot me down, but I really don't think we're going to sign anyone. And I'm not saying that because I'm getting impatient or desperate for (ANY) news like a lot on here. That's not the case at all. I honestly believe nobody will be brought in during this window.
Happy Fox Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 Has Robinson ever got rid of high earning players before? seems a bit pointless to appoint him if he hasn't got a record of bringing in players or getting rid of high earning players. If not just appoint Alan Sugar and be done with it!
Guest MattP Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 No, no and no. Hopefully someone out there will be stupid enough to take him off us and we can see the end of these threads for good.
Monsell1976 Posted 20 June 2013 Posted 20 June 2013 If we can't sell him, and have to pay the reported wages, or even pay some of his wages if he's loaned, surely with the new financial constraints it would make sense to play him, as he isn't the worst striker we have. The only problem is he allegedly wants regular first team football, but with nugent and wood that aint gonna happen.
