An Idiot Abroad I really can't understand why so many people watch Not Going Out. I think it's so so painfully unfunny. Can't even try and laugh at it. I do like Lee Mack in Would I Lie to you? though.

I do like Lee Mack in Would I Lie to you? though. I've liked it ever since I first saw it. I don't really no many people that watch it. There aren't many (English) comedies on that much, they even stopped recording My Family. I love Fawlty Towers (the best for me), Only Fools, Frank Spencer, Good Life etc though from that era. Yeah he's on Would I Lie To You, although I don't really watch that.

I do enjoy some of the channel 4 stuff though- Fresh Meat and Frdiay Night Dinner are particularly good.

I do like Lee Mack in Would I Lie to you? though. Not Going Out is hardly highbrow comedy, but it's not awful. It's a series of oneliners, and word play in a sitcom, with the odd bit of slapstick thrown in. You can tell Mack is influenced by the likes of Eric Morecambe. It's not the best comedy ever written, but it's prolific, I've never known a comedy show have me laugh for pretty much the whole half hour like I have watching this at times.
