Guest MattP Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 Don't bother with Giles, give him £5 million a year and get Lehmann in. The man appears to be a genius doesnt he? Mitchell Johnson has become the best bowler in the World and no one seems to know how its happened.
Corky Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 The man appears to be a genius doesnt he? Mitchell Johnson has become the best bowler in the World and no one seems to know how its happened. If he wins this series I can't imagine how high their confidence (and arrogance) will be.
Guest MattP Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 If he wins this series I can't imagine how high their confidence (and arrogance) will be. Unbearable. That said Boof is still in a honeymoon period, maintaining being a top side is often harder than becoming one as we found out.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 February 2014 Posted 15 February 2014 Johnson Man of the Match again. Really did bowl brilliantly and had the Saffas jumping around. Was good to see Doolan and Marsh come in and make some runs.
CKB Posted 15 February 2014 Posted 15 February 2014 Can't lie i was very impressed with the Aussies, but now i need a shower as i feel dirty because i praised the Australians....
Finnegan Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 So are the Aussies still a shit team and the Saffers are making them look good? Or is it okay to admit the Aussies have improved now?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 So are the Aussies still a shit team and the Saffers are making them look good? Or is it okay to admit the Aussies have improved now? Just throwing a grenade on the fire haha
Bobby Hundreds Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Johnson is the best bowler in the world currently (good job he'll be 34 next Ashes series), he's definitely got his mojo back. Cricket is an easy sport when you have a guy who can run through a specialist batting line up for less than 80 runs.
Captain... Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Just showing that you can make plans, and have everything organised to the tiniest detail, but it means jack shit if you can't get the mental side right. It was clear under Arthur that there were divisions in the Aussie squad and they were a side low on confidence, since Lehman came in the difference has been attitude. Even in England, there was a fight and determination despite the conditions and a captain and Coach working in harmony, but still figuring things out. When we got to Australia they knew what to do to beat us. There are still problems in their batting line-up, but in this day and age of "sport science" and meticulous attention to detail, nothing beats a group of lads playing and working together, for each other and for their management team. We can fill the backroom staff with plenty of technical coached, but our new head coach needs to be a motivator and bring what will be an inexperienced dressing room together.
Finnegan Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Just throwing a grenade on the fire haha Just for you that was, pal. From one Wilson to another.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Just for you that was, pal. From one Wilson to another. Got to stick together against these Englishmen
Guest MattP Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Got to stick together against these Englishmen Feel free to take the Welsh off us.
leicsmac Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Feel free to take the Welsh off us. They've already got one country nearby to make sheep jokes about, I don't reckon they need another.
James. Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Great Joy of Six article in the Guardian about KP. He really wil be missed. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2014/feb/21/joy-of-six-kevin-pietersen
Guest MattP Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Saffers totally dominant second test, expect them to finish the Aussies off now.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Cracking day's play yesterday, from 126-1 to 216 all out! Good to see Rogers walk when he knocked the skin off one too.

Under 19's out the World Cup, no idea how they threw that away. Rob Sayer really does look a prospect though, looking forward to seeing him for Leicestershire this season.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 Great ton from Root tonight, players look a happier bunch already.
chrishlcfc Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Under 19's out the World Cup, no idea how they threw that away. Rob Sayer really does look a prospect though, looking forward to seeing him for Leicestershire this season. he won't play in the 1st team this year with naik/sykes there, anyway he looked ok but nothing special, barely spun a ball all tournament with most of his wickets coming from lbw's which were straight balls with batsmen playing across the line. Don't get me wrong he looked ok but I wouldn't go over the top because if he plays 1st team cricket I dont think he will do that well, but I suppose being an lccc young player with even a tiny bit of potential it has to be fairly exciting. Heres hoping I will be proved wrong.

marko Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Anyone been watching the ODI against the Windies? Absolutely appalling to lose this from the position we were in.
Brooksy Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Only England could lose from that position. Couldn't even hit a boundary towards the end
