Coventry to play in Northampton

I don't want to point the finger too much but it isn't just me who responds in the way I did. Anyway, I feel I'm fairly good at respecting the opinions of others mostly, it's just this case where I couldn't see how someone could hold that view.

You know, it seems every time I have a chat with you you feel the need to tell me that I'm young, I'm 18 not some child that's just learnt to walk, I know enough about the world to to form a view on what I see. Maybe I'm getting the wrong idea but I get the impression that you feel less inclined to respect what I have to say purely because of my age.

I can tell you're intelligent don't get me wrong. But that still doesn't mean that you've not got a lot to learn. Hey, I've still got a lot to learn in life too. Maybe you don't see it like I do, probably like I don't see things about myself how others do. But that's life.

That point that I originally brought up, you certainly wasn't respectful of others opinion. You'd made yours and pretty much tried to tell Kyle that his was wrong. You can't tell someone to change their opinion because it doesn't match yours.

This whole situation stinks of Wimbledon FC. The fans are absolutely spitting feathers over this and crowds are going to be horrendous, even the owners' predictions of 5,000 look wildly optimistic.

Attendances could take on a decidely League Two or even BSP appearance if they're having a poor season. A half empty League Two ground 34 miles from Coventry would be a sad visual represnetation of what they've become.

Short of a big cash injection from somewhere, this could well be the death knell for Coventry City. Laugh as much as you like but don't for a second think we're immune from a similar fate.

Frightening stuff really.

Yeah and? Shit happens and ill lose no sleep over it tonight

But you lost sleep over them 'making a video' singing about their rivals getting relegated lol

Well ok, perhaps I was a little rash to say what I said. But it's not easy to accept the view of those who actively want a club to go out of business, we wouldn't have a football league if clubs collapsed whenever someone wanted them to. There are two sides to every argument of course but it's difficult to see how going down the route that chap suggested would be in any way a good idea.

I take on board what you've said, he can have his opinion but it would be a total disaster if he were to have his way.

Why would it be a disaster? Would it be so bad it'll bring a year to your eye?

They are a nothing club with cretin supporters who I can now laugh at.

Life goes on, they don't... lol!

It'd be a disaster if every fan who wanted clubs to go out of business had their way as we wouldn't have football at all. That's why I'm so massively against what you're saying.

If it was just Coventry it wouldn't be a disaster but as I've already explained you would of course miss the fixture - surely there's more joy in beating them 3-0 than never playing them at all? Plus it's just wrong to want a club to collapse, like 'em or not they have fans who have been part of the club a long time and would sorely miss it if Coventry City fell apart.

I don't expect your counter argument to be particularly convincing, all you've done is try to say I like Coventry when quite the opposite is true. They're who I view as my main rival (which is partly why I want them to stay afloat, so we can beat them). While I respect what Bert has said ultimately I still don't tolerate your view at all, you haven't been able to justify it and undoubtedly won't be able to in your next post.

As arrogant as I know I'll sound saying this, I'm right.

How can you want your rivals to go out of business? I just find it baffling. It's almost as if people don't want a Knocky moment like the one we had. It's almost as if people don't want to see games like the 3-0 win in 09/10 season. Explain it to me please because I just don't understand.

When people make comments like that then it's difficult not to sound a little condescending when I respond. I've seen you do it a few times, patronise people when explaining something to them. Sometimes you just can't help it, people say stuff that you just find odd.

Go on then, explain what is so special about our rivalry with Coventry? Such fantastic trips to the Ricoh NOT. Coventry always brought so many down here NOT. Greatest 'M69 Derby' moment was Geoff Horsfield scoring a controversial goal that never crossed the line, wonderful moment.

What are you talking about? I've stated that I'm not going to lose sleep of cov go out of business, and I'm glad our local rivals have truly ****ed it.

They are cretins, and I couldn't care if I played them again or not. I've plenty other games to look forward to winning

And you don't tolerate my view? I feel like I'm at school being spoken to for having a dislike against what someone has said lol!

**** coventry city and their fans. I'm glad we'll never play them again.

Now go and cry yourself to sleep because I have a opinion that you don't understand . Writing an essay doesn't make you look intelligent or make your points any more valid.

Goodnight and god bless

Regardless of what you think of the fixture there's no good reason to want another club to go out of business which is what this is all about.

No but giving a full explanation helps which was what I was doing. Giving detail requires more words.

In any case you did exactly as I expected, no effort to justify your opinion, just childish insults. It shows how weak your argument is - just to sum it up: "I don't like them so I want them to go out of business." Disliking a club is not a good enough reason to want them to collapse. It's a bit like wanting someone to die because they've been rude to you.

Think about it another way, Cov fans certainly won't like you if they read what you've said so they then take Leicester City off the map. That's fair isn't it?

When we played Cov at home before they got relegated there was more of a derby feel to the match than Forest and Derby, the Forest rivalry has been dwindling for years were as the Cov rivalry looked like it was taking off.

How did I lose sleep you absolute disabled?

Well you seemed to care about them making a video.

Thanks for the insult though. Haven't been called a 'disabled' since I was at school many years ago.

I can't remember the last game with a proper derby feel at home. Forest when we won 3-0 probably.

Yeah, and?

They were singing about their rivals relegation, every team in the world does it. Doesn't justify the sad position they are in now.

I'm a football fan and don't like to see any club go, especially a club the size of Coventry who are fairly big. They should never have left Highfield Road though, Richo never matched that anyway.

This justifies it though doesn't it?

The atmosphere was shit that day. We scored early, we knew they were going down, it should have been great to rub their noses in it, but it was crap. I agree with Dan, the 3-0 against Forest was a real derby atmosphere, I don't think another home game against one of those 3 (or nearly anyone; Man City and Watford may be comparable) has come close to that since I've been going.

Not for me, not in my opinion, no.

I mean, rivalry is a big thing to some people and they will go further than burning a shirt or making a video singing about relegation. Look at the fights when teams like Watford/Luton, Birmingham/Villa, Millwall/West Ham. People actually get hurt, and during the last cup meeting between West Ham and Millwall, someone got stabbed.

It's a passionate thing isn't it. But would I want to see a rivalry disolve because of a club going bust? No. I would love to see Leicester, Nottingham Forest, Derby and Coventry all back in the Premier League again (as long as we're above them all!).

It's different for everyone, but as a football fan, I don't want to see any club go bust.

I do hope this does signal a clear warning to the Football League that their 'fit and proper' tests, or whatever they brand them as, are clearly weak and not nearly interrogative enough. What SISU have done to them is piss poor in every sense.

A town the size of Coventry will always have a football side in some shape or form, be it the current club or a phoenix club. Therefore, I personally think it's funny as **** because I'm an insensitive twat with a chip on my shoulder.

I'm not buying into this stuff really. I find it absolutely ****ing hilarious. If we went bust, oh well, life goes on, start up in the lower leagues and I'll still be there. Life goes on, don't sob over CCFC going out of business, won't be the first or the last.
