Voll Blau Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 I remember the abuse and the video they did when we got relegated, and the endless messages and threats I was getting on facebook from a 6 fingered disabled. Any other club apart from Forest i'd feel for them. Let them burn Yeah, coz we've got no fans who are complete wands have we? This is bigger than "rivalry" or whatever. Sadly, it's a reflection on the state of football.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 4 July 2013 Posted 4 July 2013 I honestly have no clue why the bloke in charge hasn't sold it.

Any other club apart from Forest i'd feel for them. Let them burn I'm sure you just forgot to mention MK Dons rather than deliberately missed them out. Nottingham Forest and Coventry City have been established in the FL for over a hundred years. It concerns me when people want respectable clubs like these two to be extinguished purely because they dislike them rather than for any valid reason. In addition, did you not enjoy beating Forest recently? And do you not get excited whenever the fixture approaches? Well with them gone you'll never have that pleasure again, think about it, as much as you dislike them surely you want them to exist just so you can have the pleasure of beating them. Lecture over. I hope you'll withdraw Forest and Cov from your list given what I've said.
GingerrrFox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 When we sang we'll never play you again when they were heading down I didn't think it would end up literally. Anyone who remembers the troubles our club went through in the not so long ago will feel for the Coventry fans. Even if they are inbred, rat infested wankers.

I don't have a club death list you know? I couldn't give two ****s about MK Dons. Christ. To make you all happy ill go and buy a "I really <3 coventry " tshirt. And post it on here so you can all feel better about yourselves.
Fox92 Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Christ. To make you all happy ill go and buy a "I really <3 coventry " tshirt. And post it on here so you can all feel better about yourselves. I'm not saying that. Just that, from my point of view, as a football fan, I don't want to see any club go. They made a video, and someone abused you when Leicester got relegated. Wow. The state Coventry are in now, isn't the same as our relegation to League One.
RonnieTodger Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 I hate Coventry more than Forest, but this is one of the most ridiculous scenarios ever. I just pity them now, rather than laugh. Sad times for a once proud club.
MrSpaM Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Where the hell are they going to get the money to build a new stadium from? thats what I dont get. It's alright them saying they are looking for a place to build a new ground but who's going to fund that?
Leicesterpool Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 I think Cov will be lucky to get 900 going to sixfields, all i can say is "going bust, going bust" in some ways i feel sorry for them, but why should I. There our rivals and they'd probably wish it on us!
wurmer Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 This is pure brinksmanship. Bet it doesn't last for long - or at all.

I still don't understand your reasoning, why on earth would you want a rival to be removed from the league? So you can never play them again and never get the pleasure of beating them again, what's the point? I thought people liked rivalries, they seem to be something to look forward to.

marko Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 Just been granted permission by the Football League to play home games at Sixfields for the next three seasons.

Corky Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 That's surely the end of them as the current club, no way will the gate receipts, sponsorship deals be enough to pay staff, especially the players. What a mess, and a sobering time. Can't stand the club but don't want them to die completely, they have decent, committed fans the same way we do. Used to enjoy the Premiership games against them, far more edge than the Championship matches.
C-man Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 I should be utterly disgusted with this scandal but I simply cannot bring myself to care about the state these utter plebs are in. Serves them right for being the first commercially orientated club in England... (Coventry 'Talbot' FC, changing kit colour, Jimmy Hill, first all-seater etc)
The Year Of The Fox Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 Wonder if theyll protest the day of our friendly at Northampton
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 . There's nothing worse than being patronised. Wind your neck in. As arrogant as I know I'll sound saying this, I'm right. How can you want your rivals to go out of business? I just find it baffling. It's almost as if people don't want a Knocky moment like the one we had. It's almost as if people don't want to see games like the 3-0 win in 09/10 season. Explain it to me please because I just don't understand. When people make comments like that then it's difficult not to sound a little condescending when I respond. I've seen you do it a few times, patronise people when explaining something to them. Sometimes you just can't help it, people say stuff that you just find odd.

You make a fair point but we do have 3 rivalries. It's not the end of the world that we don't play Coventry anymore, it's the Forest game I'd miss; but even so I'd be happy to see them rot in a lower league for a while if that meant we couldn't play them for a bit. I can't say I'm bothered either way what happens to Coventry, they're not a threat to us anymore. It will be strange if they cease to exist, although all that really means is they'll play football about 8 leagues lower than us rather than 1. They'd almost be better calling it a day now. The sooner they do the sooner they can move forward. They need to be playing in Coventry in a stadium far smaller than the Ricoh.

Because everyone has their right to their own opinion and certainly shouldn't be being belittled by someone who still has a lot to learn in life. To be honest I actually agree with you on the matter but everyone has a right to their opinion and you need to realise that.

I think the last away match at Cov I went to was the game where Andy Impey made his debut for us at Highfield Road in the Prem. It'll be a shame if they go out of business.

To be honest I actually agree with you on the matter but everyone has a right to their opinion and you need to realise that. I don't want to point the finger too much but it isn't just me who responds in the way I did. Anyway, I feel I'm fairly good at respecting the opinions of others mostly, it's just this case where I couldn't see how someone could hold that view. You know, it seems every time I have a chat with you you feel the need to tell me that I'm young, I'm 18 not some child that's just learnt to walk, I know enough about the world to to form a view on what I see. Maybe I'm getting the wrong idea but I get the impression that you feel less inclined to respect what I have to say purely because of my age.
