Dan Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/look-coventry-city-agree-groundshare-4866094 Has this not been posted? Coventry City will play at Sixfields Stadium next year. Jesus Christ.
Tom17LCFC Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Genuinely feel for the fans, must be absolutely horrible that.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 This really highlights the farcical nature of the situation for Coventry fans. No exaggeration to say this could kill their club, especially given their attendances struggled past 10,000 anyway.
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Thats a shame. I really wanted to groundshare with them at the KP. Such lovely people those coventry fans. Nevermind

No exaggeration to say this could kill their club, especially given their attendances struggled past 10,000 anyway. In fairness Bilo there's a direct quick train route.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 This is really bad news, but so long as transport and tickets are priced sensibly they ought to get through this. 34 miles isn't that far.

Happy Fox Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Poor fans must be a right shitter to have those sort of owners they would probably hope for a Ken Bates right now.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 I'm surprised they haven't tapped up Northampton Saints for use of the substantially bigger Franklin's Gardens. I'm sure segregation could potentially be sorted.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 In fairness Bilo there's a direct quick train route. True, but the train ticket is likely to cost at least a tenner. A ticket that was therefore £25 at the Ricoh therefore becomes £25 plus a £10 train fare. Not to mention the fact that that 30-40 minute train time and last-train-of-the-night concerns will hurt midweek attendances. Unless they drastically cut prices; Coventry attendances could go the same way as Wimbledon's did when they announced the move to Milton Keynes, especially if they have another bad season.
Dan Posted 3 July 2013 Author Posted 3 July 2013 Literally think they'll liquidate eventually and they'll probably be the biggest club in England to my knowledge to do so.
Corky Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 More than likely now that the away followings the scummers take will increase highly, as they'll avoid the "home" games and will still want to watch the team somehow.
nickyboy Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 According to the legend Jeff Stelling Cov may have to ground share with Northampton Hahaha
Kitchandro Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 I don't really care these days. Used to laugh at their demise but they just don't register at all now. It's all become a bit sad and pathetic.
SystonFox Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 I actually feel for them now. A 60 odd mile round trip for home games for fans? How many of us would genuinely do that. Relegation fodder next term
Jace Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Thought a few weeks ago it was confirmed they would continue at the Ricoh now rent free? The story changes so often its getting boring even for Coventrys standards.
Super_horns Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 I presume they haven't sold the season tickets yet!
Guest ttfn Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 I actually feel for them now. A 60 odd mile round trip for home games for fans? How many of us would genuinely do that. Relegation fodder next term I reckon a good 5 thousand City fans make that trip (or longer) every home game. Could even be as much as 10k.
ScouseFox Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 For 4 or 5 seasons I regularly did a 250 mile round trip for a home game. The last of them seasons I paid for myself too, before any of you go on about that. If you want to support your club, you support your club. I get that some can't, I can't now cos of work and stuff, but if you were going to have Saturdays off to take a half hour trip to your local ground, you'll still take Saturdays off to travel an hour to support your team. Not many will tho. Because Coventry don't have many fans. Not a dig, I don't really care about Cov because I'm not local and my Dad never told me to hate them. But they genuinely don't have many fans at home, let alone in a different town. Edit: And that round trip was more often than not on my own before meeting my Dad in Leicester.
Jace Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 Personally I would love a 60 mile round trip per home game would finally be able to get a season ticket but would also imagine it would mean the end for CCFC
