MikeyT Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Don't care what anyone says, neither he or the other murdering scumbag should ever be let out. They get a chance at a new life. What does poor James get?! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10160961/Bulger-killer-set-free-and-taxpayers-pick-up-bill.html The Parole Board announced that Venables, now 30, will be released from jail just over three years after he was sent back to custody for distributing child pornography. But Ralph Bulger, James’ father, said the family was “filled with terror†by the “reckless†decision, and warned that allowing Venables to live freely under a false identity had already been shown to be deeply flawed. Venables and Robert Thompson were 10 years old when they abducted, tortured and killed two year-old James in Bootle, Merseyside, in February 1993, leaving his battered body on a railway line. The youngest convicted murderers in modern English history were released on licence in 2001 after being granted lifetime anonymity by the courts to protect them from vigilante attacks. A Ministry of Justice spokesman refused to comment on the arrangements that will now be put in place for Venables’ release. But to keep his true identity secret the killer will require full identity documents, training on his fake “backstory†and support from probation officers, as well as a new home funded from the public purse. It is estimated it costs the taxpayer £250,000 every time someone is given a new identity for their own protection. Venables has been rehomed and given a new identity on three previous occasions after his cover was blown. Venables had his parole revoked in March 2010 and was jailed for two years after admitting downloading and distributing indecent images of children. He appeared by video link at the Old Bailey and admitted possessing the child pornography, which showed girls as young as eight being raped and other abuse of children aged about two. The court heard he had posed online as a 35-year-old married woman called “Dawn†to trade images with another paedophile. Earlier this year James’s mother, Denise Fergus, and Mr Bulger both addressed Venables’ parole hearing and pushed for him to remain in prison. Robin Makin, Mr Bulger’s solicitor, said: “For Ralph and his family the living nightmare continues and is exacerbated by the problems now created by the reckless decision to free Jon Venables without any publicly disclosed safeguards. “The authorities have already experimented with Jon Venables living a lie and it did not work. The decision to release Jon Venables is misguided and fills Ralph with terror.†Mrs Fergus said: “Venables has shown time and again that he cannot be trusted and that he is a danger to the public and himself. “He lies and manipulates people for his own sick ends and I believe the Parole Board have made the wrong decision. “He is still a huge risk and they should not let him out after just three years. “I doubt it will ever be safe to be let him out under another false identity. They should keep him locked-up for a long time yet.†A spokesman for the Parole Board said: “We’ve had confirmation that all parties have been told and we can confirm that it was a release decision. He will be released.â€
Guest MattP Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Good to see the words trotted out when he originally came out of 'If he re-offends he will be back in for a long long time' were proven to be complete bullshit as usual. (Is sharing around child porn even classed as serious in this day and age?) Hopefully someone will have the balls to slit his throat one day, not like any jury in the land would deliver a 12-0 verdict to send them down anyway.
MikeyT Posted 5 July 2013 Author Posted 5 July 2013 Neither of them should ever be allowed to be set free. Yes they will be monitored, blah, blah, blah, but didn't help much last time. Hopefully an updated image of him will be leaked to the internet.
Bettsj2 Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Wow. A thread endorsing murder. Foxestalk has come a long way since 'Hottest Celebs'
Fox92 Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Scum. Shouldn't be let out at all. It costs the taxpayer £250,000 to give someone new identity!? ... Then again, I'm not suprised.
Vacamion Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 I can imagine that any dark haired Scousers, single and aged about 30, moving in to a new home a long way from Liverpool, might be viewed with suspicion over the coming months...
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 In his case it may be better if he stays inside. Not sure about building a new life. Who is going to employ him? Would anyone on here? It is going to be difficult if he has to go through a CRB check. Will he be given a new name? They will still have fingerprints on record. I'm not defending him as I cannot see him changing but he was young when he committed the crime and served the original sentence regardless of the rights and wrongs to release him. If he was kept in he would have to be isolated costing the taxpayer thousands. I would just make things so hard and miserable for him that he takes the easy way out and tops himself.

Guest MattP Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 In his case it may be better if he stays inside. Not sure about building a new life. Who is going to employ him? Would anyone on here? Pizza Hut did by the looks of it. He has a new name and identity so i presume any CRV check would pass. The fact he has been dealing in child porn since coming out should be a slight giveaway he has a problem, just a shame again another innocent person will have to suffer before he inevitably ends up back inside again.
jonthefox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Is he the one who had his photo (of him now) blasted all over the internet?. Good luck with that one.
Vacamion Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 A few of my Facebook friends posted a supposed pic of him as he looks like now. Looked a bit of big old unit. I didn't agree with that. Not only is it breaking the law but there is always the possibility that the wrong dude might be singled out. Remember when the mob attacked a Paediatrician?? If this person is as much of an idiot as he is described, he won't be able to help himself and will reveal himself.
Guest MattP Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Wow. A thread endorsing murder. Foxestalk has come a long way since 'Hottest Celebs' Yeah I don't give a fcuk anymore tbh. Amazing how having this forced on you can turn you full circle when it comes to 'justice'. We'll let him out again and again to abuse children for life and keep giving him 2-3 year sentances, who cares how many innocents have to suffer providing this guy can try and get on with his next new life? And we're the barbaric ones.
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Can't some inmate or prison guard get a photo. Easily done. Make a pin hole camera then sneak it into a photography workshop. The print can be altered during processing to satisfy the authorities but the original negative can be sneaked out of prison. Can you arrange it Mikey?

Mike Oxlong Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 He has a new name and identity so i presume any CRV check would pass. Releasing him and giving him a new Honda? This is taking rehabilitation too far!

That is pretty barbaric and as a society, we're better than the scum that commit these crimes.Did he actually abuse kids then or did he have child porn on his computer? I cant remember the story to be honest.

I cant remember the story to be honest. I used to agree with you actually on the top point, last couple of years I've started to question myself in who actually is the 'real' barbaric ones when some seem intent to cause as much misery as possible to the innocent and law abiding just so evil can continue to impose itself on them. I'd favour life imprisionment over the death penalty but I don't trust parole boards or the justice system to uphold that even when the sentence is handed down anymore. Officially downloading and distributing I think though there were heavy rumours of abuse al over the place, the police and cps would never have let that got out. That said he's now just turned 30 and been inside for torturing, brutally sexually abusing and then murdering a child, came out and ended up back inside for at minimum downloading and distributing child porn. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out what he is going to be back up to soon does it? Would you be happy to him to babysit your kids? Because with a new identity he can again walk into someone else's life and get right to it and the people around him won;t have a clue who he is or what he has done. Sends chills down the spine he could be sat there this christmas at your dinner table with your daughter as his girlfriend.
Jon the Hat Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 Can't remember but think it was just downloading stuff. If the police knew it was him they could have made it look worse for him to make sure he went down. They are both on a whole life license, so they dont need make anything look worse, they can just recall him to prison. Really hard one this. Do you lock up a couple of ****ed up kids for their whole lives for murder? Plenty of other ****ed up people walking the streets.
Rincewind Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 I'm all for helping offenders when they come out of prison. Many don't receive have the help the Boulger killers received and their crime was petty in comparison. Also likely committed when young. On release they are unemployable even if just spending time on remand. Job lost behind with rent etc. So I don't see why those two should receive special treatment.
MooseBreath Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 For once I agree with rincewind. Release them to the public with no protection. Fairest way for everyone.

Sends chills down the spine he could be sat there this christmas at your dinner table with your daughter as his girlfriend. I see what you're saying but assuming someone will do something isnt enough for me. The guy was a kid himself when he commited the murder and has been in jail practically his whole life. He's obviously got some phsycolgical problems so he definitely shouldnt be let out.My guess is that it wont take anyone to stick the knife in. People like him usually end up doing it themselves. Every time he sleeps he'll see a brick smashing down on that poor kids head. God know why they did what they did and god knows what he'll do when he gets out, but our society is not what it is through assuming people are guilty. Thats basically what we all curse about Afghanistan or Sharia Law etc. Sometimes emotions take over but you cant be ruled by the heart. If we were, we'd all be fvcked.
SystonFox Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 how is it fair to let them out in public? they are monsters. a menace to society (cliché) if you think they should be free so people are free to beat them and stab them in the neck what actual good will it do? just let them rot in jail
leicsmac Posted 5 July 2013 Posted 5 July 2013 This is a whole fvcking can of worms. I think the point that this guy cannot really have a life outside of prison anyway is valid. For one he's clearly not right in the head, and secondly his cover ID will be blown before you can say "Kasper Schmeichel" pretty much every time it is changed. The world (and the UK) is too small now for someone that high-profile to hide behind a new ID, so he's always going to be open to vigilante attacks. At the same time, one of the rare times I agree with authoritarianism is that mob justice is not really justice at all. It would be gratifying to some no doubt, but the whole point of a civilised society is that we are better than that. Just like we're better than the religious nutjobs who look their immediate victims in the eye before hacking their heads off or blowing themselves to kingdom come. We have to be better. I think all things considered that you can't keep giving him chances, and prison or a psychiatric facility is the best place for him - for the protection of everyone else and for himself.
