You see you're now making my point ..... Where have i insulted anyone, ever, on this forum????

Despite in the last 24 hours being called some fairly ridiculous things myself.

Ridiculously negative ..... you mean a different view to yours?

Where am I talking about you "insulting" anyone? Care to elaborate?

And by "ridiculously negative", I mean a different view to the majority on here.

Sorry ...  read your post too fast and read opinion as insults ...

It'd be a very very dull forum to come on without different views .... Personally i welcome them .... otherwise it would just be:

Nigel's good isn't he??

yes

yes

yes

plus one, very!!

I love him and the club.

yes

This

yes

I have named my cat Nigel

yes

This.

All get a bit a bit boring wouldn't it??

I don't see what's wrong with wondering why we haven't signed anyone .... it's noteworthy enough to make the back page of the mercury .... and is a simple fact - we are the only club in the champ not to have .....

That's news ..... it's worth discussing .... opinions are bound to involve the manager as he's the one that identifies the players he wants.

Personally I find a few posters, you included, ridiculously positive to the point of seeming brainwashed .... but I don't mind that .... Makes an interesting forum.

Except for the fact that this forum doesn't do that and you won't find stuff like that on here. You're going way over the top with your insinuation that this forum is only for "happy-clappers".

Foxestalk is a very active, very diverse forum with tons of great posters. You could also be one if you'd started to add a little bit more thought to your "explanations".

You go into hyperactive mode way too easily and come up with the most ludicrous of conspiracy theories surrounding the club.

No one on here despises negative critique - as long as it is thoughtful (a bit vague a term, I know).

I don't see myself "ridiculously positive", more as a person with a rather realistic outlook, and I'm most definitely not "brainwashed".lol

I've stated numerous times on here that Pearson is not immune to critique and that the new season will be his fiercest test to date and that it could very well cost him his job if he fails to deliver, e.g. finish lower than last season with a similar squad.

There isn't much need to wonder is there, even without Pearson pretty much stating we need to sell before we buy, or toffee fox saying the same. The fact our last accounts showed us making a £30m loss, and the fact we are now only allowed to make a £8m loss it's all fairly clear really.

You see, you say you have never insulted anyone and then you regularly label people brainwashed or "Nigel lovers" etc etc. It happens all the time from you and others, I can post up dozens and dozens of posts I've made moaning about him, expressing doubt about him, but nothing changes you still get labeled "ridiculously positive". I'm sure it's the same for plenty of others also.

I see your point. But again, you're focusing on the negatives, while I'm quick to point out that at one point we were second in the table. With one of the youngest and smallest squads in the entire league.

You tend to see something fishy, I see potential.

As for what matters most, can't tell. You'd have to ask the gaffer yourself. I believe Pearson, out of all the people, knows pretty well and best that the run-in towards the end of last season resulted in some really bad results.

And I am hopeful he's learnt his lesson from it.

Dont you think had he not shipped out Danns & St Ledger & arguably Beckford we may well have not fallen so far from grace so spectacularly?

The young squad you speak of has great attributes, but also lacks experience and a big of good old down and dirty grit.

There were / are free transfers available that could have helped plug the gaps, and I don't get why it hasn't been done.

My big fear is that 10 games in the owners will do a Sven and push the panic button if we dont come out to a great start, my even greater fear is that they just wont care.

I didn't say that about you!!!

The last accounts are obviously relevant but alot will change between those and the next accounts .... the debt being converted to share capital for instance, and the ownership of the stadium etc ... There'll be some clever accountants work their magic on those accounts I'm sure.

You don't get to be as rich as the Thais without having good accountants!!

On a seperate point .... If we wanted to expand the ground would this be under the FFP or outside of them?

It'll certainly be interesting ..... It scares me a bit that they didn't push the button on the run in .... in hindsight it could be argued they did the right thing as we did manage to scrape into the play offs ....

Well, considering Beckford had a clause in his contract that would have forced the club to pay even more money to Everton, I think LCFC have taken the smart route.

Beckford's performances in one entire season didn't suggest he really wanted to be a part of this club and was mainly living off a (short-lived) reputation as some sort of "giant killer" and a big wage package.

Why Pearson loaned St. Ledger out to Millwall exactly, I don't know. I heard St. Ledger, who had just come back from injury, needed playing time. I can only guess that we already had a pretty decent back four, with players on established positions with a good understanding for each other (remember, we didn't concede more than two goals in a game all season).

As for the lack of transfer activity, we're still well into the preseason and there's plenty of time to do business.

Can't you see that relying on a big core of established first-teamers can actually be an asset? They're all familiar with the club and its systematics already.

Regarding your fears - Christ, do you actually still sleep tight at night? lol

Not sure actually, I would imagine it falls under FFP. But it very much depends on how they purchased the stadium.

I would guess that Kingpower would perhaps have purchased the ground and might charge a nominal rent (or a big one considering we were paying £1m + a year previously). Leaving them free to spend whatever they want on the ground whilst taking out lots of costs from the books.

Beckford is a smart move because we weren't promoted .... if playing those players and having a stronger squad when we needed it had got us promoted it would have also been great business.

Two sides to the same coin!!

This is it for me ... the flexibility of having money behind you means you can shift that money around and play the rules a bit .... own the ground personally and rent it at a reduced "loyalty" rent or a long term deal that involves a discount in the early years whilst we adjust to FFP. It's why I'm confident that at the 11th hours we'll be within the FFP rules.

If FFP does include ground capacity improvements it's another example of how ill thought through it is and how it can affect a club negatively for actually doing the right thing from a business perspective!!!

If FFP looming above your head and an unhappy player on big wages are the scenario, you count your chickens twice and make cuts wherever possible.

Beckford could've been a great piece of business if he had shown he was the real deal from the start. Which he didn't.

Besides, we were already in grasp of a playoff final WITHOUT Beckford.

I do think we have a strong squad, albeit an inexperienced one and one that needed to come together as a whole. In that regard, I'm looking forward to the new season. We're still in the midst of a longer process.

I can't see more than one side to the coin here, I'm afraid.

Well there you go .... I thought all season that our squad was too small .... by around 3 players .... I said so when we went top and was roundly shouted down .... but was proved right .... we didn't have the depth to keep the run going.

For me, at the moment, that's looking like a bigger problem this season not a smaller one. just over two weeks to go and that does concern me.

They have purchased the ground.

I am aware the ground has been purchased, but not how the deal was made. The ground could now belong to lcfc or belong to kingpower. Clearly they one is owned by the other, but for accounting purposes there are implications depending on which way it has been done.

So Beckford has now been done and that might mean that we have some cash as his sale will not only raise a little capital but also free some wages up.....

then we can cancel my thread.. as its gone in a direction that was different to i intended... i.e down the personal insults line...

happy for anyone to personally insult me at any time in person... I sit in K block.. and I renewed and my son and 2 of his mates also got their first season tickets...

Signing will soon be in.....

Was it in last years accounts or since??

"The owners, led by chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, have bought the stadium through their company K Power Holdings Co Ltd from previous owners Teachers Insurance, an American pension fund manager."

It should be in last years accounts when they are released (some way off yet).

For certain Lewis McGugan and a young guy from Reading but we are waiting for international approval for some of the loan players who have agreed to come back on a permanent basis (Anya/Pudli for example) from FIFA/FL.

Also we have 3/4 loans from Udinese...

;)

You've made me unhappy now.   :P

Nah that's ok I suppose, I'm less bothered about loan players now that they're capped. The rules have been correctly amended on that front.

Whereas if it was you and your ilk, the forum would just consist of:

We've lost a game? Pearson's a willy puller.

We've finished in the playoffs? Shit season, mid table next season, Pearson should be sacked.

Pearson's not been sacked? Well, season ticket sales will suffer!

Season ticket sales are up? well the club must be lying or buying their own tickets.

We haven't signed any players? Must be Pearson's fault.

FFP? Pearson's fault

Global famine? That willy puller Pearson should be sacked.

I killed a cat because it was called Nigel the other day! Haha!

Or is that a gross exaggeration, just like yours? You go around accusing people of being 'brainwashed', insult their intelligence for supporting the manager and the club, then go crying off about people 'insulting' you.

You do realise that free transfers still draw a wage don't you?
