I expect carnage....in a drunken scottish way that is.

I remember walking down Wembley way in the early 80s to see a "friendly". I was basically running a gauntlet of bottles, beer and gob from Scotland fans, who outnumbered the the English about five to one.

Hopefully things have mellowed a bit these days

Should imagine there will be at least some trouble.

I doubt any trouble from english fans, not the sort that go to games thesedays, but I would imagine it will attract some rough fans from scotland, even the normal ones get pissed and fook about, wembley wont know whats hit it.

Waste of time friendly for me, the only team it will only benefit from it will be the Scotch.

How? If there's any game our lot should be fired up for it should be a game against our oldest and closest rivals. If I could pick any national side in the world for a friendly it'd be the likes of Scotland where there should be a bit of spice and the crowd at Wembley might genuinely get going for once. Pointless is Trinidad and Tobago et al.

It's the closest thing to a major tournament game that many of the Scotland fans have seen; it will be their cup final, both on and off the pitch.

If England go out half arsed, they'll definitely live to regret it. I wouldn't rule out bragging rights going north of the border, even if they are patently inferior on paper.

What chance of the England players got being fired up though? I'd say it's minimal.

I'll be watching just for the scottish fans than the game, be slightly ammusing if they won just for all the banter.

I would much rather have faced tougher opponents like Germany at home.

I suppose Roy Hodgson will name his squad as soon as the Premier League clubs are done using red ink to cross out most of the names on his list.

If we lose to these buggers the morale will really be low going into the rest of our qualifiers, even if we beat i don't think it would boost the morale. Should have play an tougher opponent at least if we win the morale will be sky high if we lose, we can turn round and say we we're beaten by a good side and we can learn from mistakes. Also a draw will be just as bad as a loss, look at the morale after the Rep Of Ireland match.

Watching England is not one of my main sporting priorities, way down the pecking order.

If we lose to this team, then English football really is in a sh*t state.

Yeah the Scottish can create an atmosphere, and that should be decent considering the game.

Hence 'should' and not 'will.'

I know. I was speaking generally.

I feel Scotland will get something - simply because they will be motivated whereas ours will be thinking about the next Premier league game and as Jordan says the squad will be weaken.

It's the oldest derby in world football, if they aren't fired up for it of all matches then what the hell are they doing playing international football?

We couldn't play them at a worse time, we're on a bit of downer while Scotland, now out of the running for qualifying for the world cup can come out and just enjoy themselves without any pressure. While us we're preparing for a next what three or four big qualifiers. For me this friendly is one i'm actually dreading because i do fear the worse.
