Humdinger of a game. Great performance and is Strachan can get us playing like that and vs Croatia in June then maybe France 2016 might actually see the tartan Army in a tournament for the first time in 20 years.

Do not rate Zaha at all, genuinely don't think he's better than Knockeart, Redmond or Ince.

I don't even think he is as good as those players

Hope Hodgson grows a pair and drops Rooney for the next game. Lambert had more of an impact in 25 than Rooney did in 65. Give Lambert a chance from the start, he will certainly give you more effort, that's guarenteed.

Don't care if Rooneys not match fit, his peformances for England have not been good enough for a long time now, especially in major tournaments. He may well be a fantastic player for United, he certainly isnt for England. Far from it.

Time to give others a chance!

2 goals massively flattered the Scottish. This won't help with their small man syndrome.

:fishing:  Behave, for the first half hour scotland looked comfortable, even then until about 55-60 minutes they held their own.

They played well, were organised and I'm sure continue playing that way Scotland might get to a tournament for once...

And the Under-21s give you cause for encouragement too.

Brilliant win for Northern Ireland too.

Stunning victory, shame it will be completely overshadowed.

Aye - don't get me wrong, England deserved to win, but 2 goals didn't flatter us: the first was lucky as **** (only other keeper I can think of who'd have ****ed that up is Chris Weale), but the performance deserved the two goals.

That game was a ****ing omnishambles.

Tonight proves, why England shouldn't rely on these has-beens. Hart ain't great, people bang on about him being the best goalkeeper in the Prem, some say the World, I'm sorry but he isn't. He isn't even top five in my opinion. Johnson has been in the set up for ages, and has always been about average, Micah Richards would of been first choice, if he didn't get injured & managers actually gave him a chance when fit. Walker will more than likely be first choice, but someone like Nathaniel Clyne deserves a shot sooner or later. Centre back, forget the days of Terry & Ferdinand now, the team need to move on, Jagielka didn't have the best of nights, but he is far better than he proved tonight, same with Cahill, not sure on players like Smalling though. Centre back is probably our weakest position in terms of depth. Left back is healthy enough especially when Cole calls it a day, got the likes of Baines, Bertrand, Gibbs and Shaw all talented enough.

Midfield, you don't need the Gerrard's, Lampard's, Milner's. Wilshere will be the major part of the England side, in a few years, Cleverley will be there or thereabouts. Some of the youngsters though who performed for the Under 21's yesterday, played absolutely class, give them a shot and see how well they do. Hughes, Redmond and Barkley have massive futures. Really think players like Lallana, Noble & Nolan deserve call ups as well. While wingers, we have a lot of up and coming talent who can play out wide, forget the likes of Downing, Lennon, Young etc... the future in my opinion lies with, the likes of Sterling, Zaha, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott.

While up front, Rooney has done nothing for years, Welbeck brings nothing, Sturridge hasn't proven himself when given the chance. Jermain Defoe might be 30, but he is a great finisher and always does well in an England shirt, Rickie Lambert is a proper striker and tonight proved he fully deserved a call up, players like Gary Hooper, Charlie Austin and Jay Rodriguez if they perform this upcoming season, deserve a chance.

Just a matter of giving the future a chance, sooner rather than later. Other countries are doing it, about time we did the same, instead of calling up the likes of Johnson, Gerrard, Lampard, Milner, Rooney every game.
