Larry_LCFC Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Probably the most pointless thread Ive ever made, but I dont care. The football season is ALMOST here and IM SO EXCITED. However much we moan, whinge and cry about Leicester city, life is so boring without them. Forget all the negativity thats engrained across this forum and lets get right behind the boys. This IS the season where we take the league by storm. Just the small matter of seeing off those boys from Monaco first. Bring it the fvck on! :scarf: I feel better now thats off my chest (and no, Im not drunk....yet)
Leicesterpool Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Yeah weekends are boring in the summer aren't they? Actually what do people miss most about the football?
Larry_LCFC Posted 25 July 2013 Author Posted 25 July 2013 Yeah weekends are boring in the summer aren't they? Actually what do people miss most about the football? Everything. Weekends are empty without football. Sad as that sounds, its true. For 9 months a year, my weekend is football. The 3 months without it are just weird.

Fox42 Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Am I the only one that gets excited watching a match on Sky? I just love the live commentary and the You Got The Love theme in the beginning gives me goosebumps. Especially on a Friday night watching the game having a takeaway at home. Sorted (No, I am in the right thread, not the Shit You Never Say one).

Plus next season we get to see some matches on freeview Surprisingly i have missed the footy, but i think i've got coped well without it because i seem to recall being very bored and started to get restless. I think though it was because the affect of the Watford game, I mean if we gained promotion we'd been like "oh i can't wait for the season", now i more like "oh we're only a fortnight away from the season, is that all?".

Just love it haha Was hoping we would be on it this year

Just love it haha Was hoping we would be on it this year Yeah seeing Gary Lineker smiling every time he said "the next game features leicester", now we've got to put up with a few minor seconds on the football league show.
Wymsey Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 I bet a good majority of our fans are more optimistic than last season. I feel we'll have a good season, slightly better than the previous one. But some on here always berate the club/team no matter how good we're doing whenever such happens, on and off the field, and that's what annoys me in this sub-forum.
bluesbrothers Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Plus next season we get to see some matches on freeview Where'd you hear that? I know some games got shown on the BBC in the 2011-12 season, but I've heard nothing about any terrestrial games next season.
lgfualol Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 I was worried the weeks would go by so slowly. But it's actually passed fairly quickly. Really excited.

Guest Col city fan Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Call me Mr Miserable, but I'm approaching this season with a surprising air of doom and gloom. Don't get me wrong... It's the footy season and I'm glad the boring summer is nearly over. But I've been looking through some of the rival squads this morning and I see some strong competition. I really do have a feeling we are going to struggle. Of course, I hope I'm wrong and will be the first to admit it if I am.

Happy Fox Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 It won't be plain sailing that is for sure at best playoffs nothing more than that imo unless we add a couple more additions, very worried by our central midfield options appreciate King and James are decent however we haven't got the experience we are crying out for games that require grit etc which is worrying, and defensively at Centre half we are looking weak.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Where do you think we'll finish Col? Didn't you say 7th last season? I said 7th this season too to be honest. I reckon that could be optimistic, but I'll stick with that.To think how the mighty have fallen.... Just a couple of seasons ago we were bookies faves, with cash on the hip... Now, most people are calling this a 'consolidation season'. Cardiff and Hull must be laffin... My heart tells me that Pearson will click and the team will gel. My head tells me we just aren't good enough in terms of playing personnel. Lets hope my heart is right and my head is full of shit.
Swalker Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Can someone inform me what do non sport fans actually do on Saturdays? I genuinely wonder what they do
Strokes Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Cricket, golf and f1 all keep me entertained. Football will assume its position at the forefront of my mind once the season starts, friendlies, new kits, Twitter speculation and ffp are not exciting or interesting for me.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Can someone inform me what do non sport fans actually do on Saturdays? I genuinely wonder what they do That's easy... Shopping with their Mrs and various parks with their kids. Ice cream and snotty noses.
kingfox Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 I said 7th this season too to be honest. I reckon that could be optimistic, but I'll stick with that. To think how the mighty have fallen.... Just a couple of seasons ago we were bookies faves, with cash on the hip... Now, most people are calling this a 'consolidation season'. Cardiff and Hull must be laffin... True. I just can't see us challenging either, unless we strengthen in a few areas, especially centre back, but if nobody wants Danns & Gallagher then we just can't improve our side. I'm going 10th this season, Forest will more than likely finish above us, and all depending if Derby's youngsters come together and gain experience, and new signing Johnny Russell scores goals, they could finish above us also, but that might be pretty unlikely. People say we have one of the best squads in the league, in my opinion we have one of the strongest starting 11's if all players are fit, but we are one of the weakest in terms of back up.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 I'd rather be at the game, every single time. Are you mad? Better seating at home. Nice bit of recliner with a beer in hand, it's the life.
tomtom Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 It's the potential switch to a 3-5-2 which excites me most about the coming season, arguably suits are squad better

I agree with this at the moment. It's frustrating seeing the club strung up by the wage bill given the position that we were in a couple of weeks ago. If we can keep injuries and suspensions to a minimum though then we could be in for a good season.
Loggy88 Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 After the final whistle at Loanford, I was just happy we had a break from it. but now I'm buzzing for the start of the season! Back the boys!
