Wasn't that the first we saw of the crisp passing that made us smile??So well we lost against Shrewbury and drew against York?We looked fairly bright against Sunderland, but it's hard to gauge how much of that was us being alright and them not really going for it and treating it as an "extended training session".

I lost faith on Pearson last season and nothing has changed, he needed to strengthen in January in the areas we were weak and didn't and we've done nothing this summer. An injury to Morgan, James or Wood at any point and you'd be concerned at who we'd bring in. Players who weren't good enough last season and shipped out are going to feature this season, which in my eyes is going backwards. St Ledger, Whitbread, Drinky, Vardy, Waghorn, Danns, Gallagher were nowhere near the first 11 since Feb and more than 1 will be starting Saturday. Does anyone know who our first 11 is?! Does Pearson? Pearson should have gone last season and I don't think he has more than 10 games this season which will leave our season a mess.
tomtom Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 Nige plays 4-4-2 for over 90% of games in a season - "He has no Plan B, look at how nice the football is that watford play in a 3-5-2, we must try it next season, we have the squad for it" etc etc. Nige tries 3-5-2 in Pre-season in an attempt to find another option - "What is he doing? The squad isn't made for 3-5-2, how can he expect to change formation if he doesn't change the players, we need to go back to 4-4-2". C'mon guys, lets give it a rest, many of you have already embarrassed yourselves enough. I said this would happen on the 3-5-2 thread last week, there are so many people on here who are to predictable ...although I thought they'd hold off pressing the panic button till we'd lost a league game!

Marshell was the only midfielder showing any sort of ability or application in the first half. With Danns and Gally it was not far off its a ball what do I do, Waghorn did a bit and wood show a few nice touches. Cannt recall Dyer doing much. Moore looked solid and showed some quility. SSL was on the floor again for their first goal. Zak was ok and looked a lot fitter. On the whole there was very little happening, our goal came from a Kasper assist. We looked a lot better with Drinkwater, Delatt and Knockaert on buy really didn't look in control at any stage. Lacklust and disjointed with few opitions. It was not a preformance that made you feel proud to be a Leicester Fan. I really do think we should be able to step it up for 20 minutes or so in a game like this and show some class.

The negative spin that is put on bad results is really frustrating, I have to sway myself away from the negativity- talk about media influencing perspective. It worries me that RL are the connection between the fans and the club (or a form of it) and they're feeding us so much negative tripe. If those of us with brain cells can divert the negativity they create, what does that do for the less gifted? Is that a main contributor toward the negativity you hear from the seemingly thick fans voicing their unwanted opinions on match day, the phone in and on social media outlets? Maybe the producers need to have a think. Stringer poses questions that convey balanced answers, like a good journalist should, but Young is very 'bad cop'- and if you watched a game whilst listening to his comments you'd be extremely confused and asking yourself if you're watching the same game. Selection of callers who are less retarded wouldn't go amiss either- they have a voice able to encourage others, this may influence negativity surrounding the club. Just some thoughts stemming from tonight's coverage. this one beats the lot let's blame radio leicester

Really hope they're gonna prove me wrong but I've not seen anything to make me think they will. I sense that too. He claims he knows his XI and the formation he's going to play but that he's been working on that behind close doors. Trying out a new formation in pre-season is sensible, we've ripped Pearson time and time again for being too rigid in his tactics. I just hope he realises how vulnerable we look so far with 3-5-2 and that it's a massive gamble for him to start the season with it. It's a formation i'd look to play when we're chasing the game and then develop it over time. For the failings we had last season, I would still feel more comfortable going in to the season with a 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 formation.

Sure, better form would be nice... and I know we have nothing else to go on at the moment... but it's certainly no time to be calling for Pearson's head. GET A GRIP!

But losing 2-1 against Northampton 4 days before the first competitive game... That COULD be of some slight concern. But i have faith we'll come good.

Our best period defensively came when we played aggressive attacking football, pressed the opposition and allowed Morgan to hold the line some 30-40 yards out, he was very good at that. Let the opposition come on to us and get the ball into the box and we are hopeless, the odd desperate block from Schmeichel aside.

I aree with all of that ... what i find odd is that it's still the case after a couple of seasons of the the same frailty. You'd think in pre season we'd have been showing some signs of learning the lessons from last year.

We are definitely labouring after the disappointment of last season imo. Some are dressing it up with it doesn't matter, it's a fitness exercise, it's not competitive, the opposition has £50 m players, etc etc. but for me the performances have been gash. Of course this could all change on Saturday. The optimists during our 17 game spell at the end of last season were always harping on about us winning the next, no this one, no the one after that... and it almost didn't happen. Maybe it will at the first time of asking this Saturday.

Maybe it will at the first time of asking this Saturday. But it did happen. Maybe too late for some, but maybe just in time for leap-frogging Bolton and getting into the playoffs. Regardless of the bad spell with three wins out of seventeen games, we earned our right to be in the mix and pushed Watford, a team filled with Serie A and La Liga loanees, to the brink of elimination.

By now we should be gelling to some degree, but from what I have read, we showed no sign of this last night. To say that friendlies are irrelevant is incorrect, otherwise we would not play them. It is not entirely about fitness levels, but to instil some kind of confidence in the players and management. Sadly we have failed rather horribly.
