Guest Basildon Fox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Bet you slip the Captains armband on at 23:34. You seem to be the type who would do that. What does that even mean?
MC Prussian Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Bet you slip the Captains armband on at 23:34. You seem to be the type who would do that. Bet you type "Bet you slip the Captains armband on at 23:34. You seem to be the type who would do that." at 23:03 in order to try winding up some people on here. You seem to be the type who would do that.
Dan Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I am struggling to think of a bigger game of two halves. At half time we just sat down and thought wow, we're 45 minutes into the season and it feels like we're 45 games into one - that's going nowhere. We were totally devoid of ideas, clueless every time we entered the final third, defended their goal truly awfully, the away end was absolutely silent, I seriously wondered why we'd bothered. But, it seemed like one penalty call (and it looked an absolute stone waller) got everyone going. Leicester attacked them for the rest of the second half and scored two fvcking excellent goals. Vardy's goal that's the player I hoped we'd signed. What a class finish. Away end in the second half was terrific, if it's like that all season I'll be a happy bunny regardless of our league finish.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Did we play 3-5-2 in the second half as well? I listened to the first half before I had to go to a wedding (what self-respecting man has a wedding in the first day of the season?) and it sounded as if we were all at sea playing that formation, I'm curious to know of we stuck with it or went back to 442 (or a variation of)?
Bluefoxtim Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Nice to see that we have rid ourselves of certain monkeys early on. Won an away game and won from going behind.

Stuck with 352. As I and others have said the midfield playing less 'flat' made a huge difference. That is a truly awful boro side though
bjblyth Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Right here, because you were being a complete and utter cuntjacket. Suggesting that a player isn't cut out to play a role is hardly negativity. Anyway, great turn around in performance second half. Good goal from Vardy, hopefully he can kick on and get more, because as a goal scorer last season he was non-existent. Still not sure on Konch at LWB, will be happier when Zoom is up to speed and playing I think - would suit a wing-back role more than Konch - he's just a defender, not a winger. Any news on Whitbread yet? Because I'm struggling to see what we've got if he's out long term. Moore can step up to first team but beyond that... Haha still won't back down and still making up words!!!
The Doctor Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Haha still won't back down and still making up words!!! Making up words? You are aware that on the internet you can drag out conversations from earlier? So: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/89689-boro-match-thread/?p=2682419 You quite clearly call me a knob for suggesting that Konch wasn't suited to a wing-back role. Now you're about as useless as a marzipan dildo, so I want you to make like a tree and fuck off. Now, fuckity-bye.

ronnup Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 That's you sussed out then 'Captain'. I'm glad you posted a little laughing face next to that, because there would be no way of anyone on the planet having any idea that it was a joke otherwise. What the **** are you on?
Hack Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Say Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Babs, The Boo boys have shown why they are clueless morons and are only manager hero's on computer games. People not directly involved in the day to day running of a football club cannot judge a manager on selection or other issues as they don't have the data and knowledge what has gone on during the week such as training and tactics. These moron's that you have quoted must have some form of delusion in believing they are a better manager than whomever is in the role of their team. This result is a disaster for the moron's as they are more interested in being right about Pearson and wanting us to lose so they can say, see I told you so. How sad is it that one of our players has to cup his hears after scoring a screamer to our fans to tell them his opinion of them for bagging him. Good on Drinky, good on Pearson and good on the whole team to show great resolve to come out huge in the 2nd half.
Hack Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Great my comment got deleted just because I said sexy Anyway, just seen the goals, great finish from Vardy, deserves to be clapped How about an apology for the way you have been criticizing all and sundry. You are perpetually negative about the players, selection and the coach.
Hack Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 I am delighted we won, However after one game, to say "Your negativity took the hell of a beating" is nonsensical, and you of all people know that as fact. When the end of the season comes, I truly hope you will be saying it,. I will be more than delighted. Keep your feet on the ground, and let's all hope we can do well, but until the final whistle blows on the season, none of us will know, how we have fared, positive or negative. Not one of your better posts. Tell me what is the benefit of having this opinion you have? You are such a hater you are desperate to be proven right rather than be positive for your team to succeed. This is not only sad but disturbing! Yes it is only one game and there will be losses, but I would put money on it that you and your hater colleagues will jump up and down calling for mass changes and tactics changes when the first loss comes. How about proportional reactions all round!!
Hack Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 It's a problem with the formation, got a lot of work to do to make it work, but like NP said in his post-match interview we can't just throw it away Over the season we need the skills in the side to make changes & be more flexible, especially as we're not flush with players. Even in today's poor first half, RDL showed what a threat a fast wingback is and I'm looking forward to Zoom getting up to match fitness and having that threat down the left flank too. If we can master 352, we can always switch to 442 which we know inside out and of course 433, 4411 etc like we did last season when the need arises. Personally I think we have the personnel to make 4231, 4411 & of course 442 work really well, but it's not a system which wins a game, it's all about the player's attitude, effort and the system is the icing on the cake. I think you really are confused!! No one really cares what you think about the tactics we could/should use. We have a very good successful manager running our team. Keep playing football manager. There you go young lad.
DanTheFox07 Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 so where are all the drinkwater and Vardy hater's tonight! happy for both of them tonight, especially Vardy his finish was sublime! hopefully he can continue this form as we need more goal's from our striker's. I wasn't sure how we would play with these line up today, glad that we pulled out a result. Middlesborough in my opinion are not one of the strongest sides in this division we will face, im hoping that we get knockeart involved when we are at home as he add's a bit of class to our play. Anyway perfect start, hopefully we can prove a few people wrong this season and challenge for a top 2 position?
Tfox Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 according to the OS we drew 2 2 http://www.lcfc.com/fixtures-results/league-table/ as off 5 25 am
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Fell asleep during the FLS but just saw the goals - both good, but Vardy's was smart and perfectly timed and placed. Hope that's given him the shot of confidence he was missing last season
Candidcamera Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Well done to all the squad and the manager. This style of play if done right and we do have adequate reserves at the back could really help our challenge. Also, pleased to see the likes of Drinkwater back in the team. I'm sure we will have a squad of players this year and no real newcomers gives chances when asked to play. Last time we played like this was MON and that was great. The centre half if under worked must move forward - tailor made for Moore especially.

You seriously have to be a W U M, I have unfortunately read your last few posts.I don't know who you think you are, putting people down for there opinions, this is a forum, a place were people come to express there ideas and opinions. Another one who clearly can't debate, just throw insults.
whitlock Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Vardy also did well to win the header. Not bad in the air for his size to b fair.
Happy Fox Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Moore was very solid when he came on he needs to be starting for me could do with another CB if Whitbread is out long term because St Ledger isn't convincing at LCB.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Stuck with 352. As I and others have said the midfield playing less 'flat' made a huge difference. fleckneymike Posted 4 August 2013 Posted 4 August 2013 Cheers FM. Good to hear Nige made some effective tweaks. You're right about Boro though, they've barely won a game on 2013 I don't think? Two poor teams played each other (see Boro forum below) http://fansonline.net/middlesbrough/mb/index.php There was no tactical switch or tweaks from Pearson (he admitted as much at full time) the players just did what they'd originally been asked. Wood looks bereft of confidence, as does SSL. That same team needs to face Wycombe so they can get better at playing this new system because they were piss poor first half.

I thought when you referred to the midfield playing 'less flat' I thought you were talking about a change in approach in the second half. Good to see the Middlesbrough fans are as patient and measured as City fans. At least we have a smattering of positive threads - there's not a single one on theirs!
