Guest Col city fan Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Quite simply, we've had a better start to the season than I thought we'd have. Follow this up with a good home win and there's a nice foundation. I'm very pleased today because going there on the opening weekend and winning is a really good result.
Father Ted Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I've backed Vardy from Day 1 and buzzing to see him score a cracking winner and play well as well. Hoping he is the main striker now and giving a good run in the side to see what he can really do.

Hoping he is the main striker now and giving a good run in the side to see what he can really do. It would be fantastic if Vardy finally becomes the striker we all hoped he could be. I said a few weeks back I wonder whether this could be his season. First touch, yes suspect, but he can obviously finish. If he gets the supply I still have high hopes for the lad.
Simmo86 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Tony Bellew piping up about how his mate Dannsy is being treated at the club. Pipe down!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Why is Vardy's wrist always bandaged up, either, like half the posters on foxestalk, he wanks constantly, or he's got a very annoying girlfriend who he has to bash from time to time. Smack dat bitch

Waghorn et all and it would be great to see them all have a positive impact
ramadaone Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Think the best thing about Vardys goal was him winning the header and then getting on his bike Wood doesn't look capable of doing this at the minute for some reason
Babylon Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Tony Bellew piping up about how his mate Dannsy is being treated at the club. Pipe down! It's a disgrace because all he wants to do is play, so do all of the others in the squad Tony you prat.
Unabomber Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Think the best thing about Vardys goal was him winning the header and then getting on his bike Wood doesn't look capable of doing this at the minute for some reason Deffo, the fact he won the header, made the run and finished like he did was superb!
Danno Posted 3 August 2013 Author Posted 3 August 2013 I don't see what's wrong with the ear cup thing, plenty of players do it!
Monsell1976 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I don't see what's wrong with the ear cup thing, plenty of players do it!Exactly, I wasn't there, was it aimed at city fans, or was he getting stick from boro fans, and aimed it at them.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 It would be fantastic if Vardy finally becomes the striker we all hoped he could be. I said a few weeks back I wonder whether this could be his season. First touch, yes suspect, but he can obviously finish. If he gets the supply I still have high hopes for the lad. I think he may have been even better, had we loaned him out last season. The transition from non league football to the Championship is a massive jump. I hope he continues to score for us, but if, like last season it does dip, it wont be doing him any favours to leave him out. Loaning him out this season, would not really be an option with Beckford having moved on. Let's just all hope his form is more consistent.
lestajigs Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Where are all the idiots who were giving me stick in the Boro Match Thread before the game!? Keep away from me you negative bastards and UP THE CITY! Oh and well done Jamie Vardy for silencing those morons that doubted you today! I was one first half we awful, I felt the worste, fair play to the lads for the second half though I take it bk
Rincewind Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Was Vardy really good in non league? I don#t think Pearson would have paid the money if he did not see some potential. He is aware I would think of the massive difference in standard of play in the divisions. But saying that oyher non league players have flopprd. I wonder what the ratio is for success and failure? It happens with youth team players too. Vardy mat have been one missed at youth level. lost his chance at a trial session but I don't know his history.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Am pleased for Vardy to score. Still not sure about home being good enough but so hope he proves everyone wrong. Love his work rate and hope he continues to score. Would rather have him and Nuge than Wood who has continued last seasons end form
morris1234 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 How about we use this as an example from now on. When we feel like being rash, which we all do due to frustration, we need to remember these sort of games. Very difficult game, against a very good side, 1-0 down, a key defender down, and 2 players whom most have deemed 'surplus' have stepped up to bring home the 3 points - and deservedly! Great win boys, well done!
Grewks Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 It's a disgrace because all he wants to do is play, so do all of the others in the squad Tony you prat. The problem with his comments is that there was no justification to play him after today. We all know what king offers, give james a few games and he will be our best midfielder like last season, and drinkwater changed the game and grabbed a goal.
Oxshottfox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Aristotle once said 'it is the mark of an educated man to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it' I think he was probably responding to the trolls who slammed the Greek equivalent of vardy and drink water back in the day. Or maybe just saying 'you're a c@nt' in a smart way. Lets back the team. I'm praying our players come good this season and this is a great start
MrSpaM Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Exactly, I wasn't there, was it aimed at city fans, or was he getting stick from boro fans, and aimed it at them. He was definatly doing it at the Leicester fans, about 2 minutes before this the whole Leicester end were chanting Nugents name and everybody wondered what was going on when he took Wood off instead of Vardy. Reckon it might have had something to do with that.
lcfc1994 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Good start. Happy for vardy, I rckon he will be buzzing and will be desperate to be in the team for Wycombe. Who knows he might go on a little run?
