Mack Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 What did he say? Turned it off as they were talking about him patting the badge. He said he sometimes makes mistakes, he said that players win games not systems. He also said we were terrible in the first half, and with the calibre of players we have that cannot happen. He went on to say we created nothing and it was not good enough. He was just generally far more relaxed and open to questions and answered them in a friendly relaxed manner. Really nice to hear.
lestajigs Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Great result, really didn't see a second half performance like this coming well done lads,
Number 6 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 To be fair to the doubters out there at the end of the day we all love Leicester and want us to do well but just because they have reservations that we might not do well doesn't mean there not fans This is true but I hate seeing the "I'm just being a realist" guff when people predict heavy losses. Guess people predicting wins today we're the realists.
iamafox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Wow, I couldn't forsee us winning after going through the first half dross and the pre-match and half-time negativity. But in the second half we sprung to life and imposed ourselves on Boro, who the hell expected our so-called 'scapegoats' to score the goals? Unreal. Now let's win the next 45 league games! By the way I'd like to wish Whitbread a speedy recovery.
cc_star Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Both goals were quality tbf. Gave them too much space out wide for their's. It's a problem with the formation, got a lot of work to do to make it work, but like NP said in his post-match interview we can't just throw it away Over the season we need the skills in the side to make changes & be more flexible, especially as we're not flush with players. Even in today's poor first half, RDL showed what a threat a fast wingback is and I'm looking forward to Zoom getting up to match fitness and having that threat down the left flank too. If we can master 352, we can always switch to 442 which we know inside out and of course 433, 4411 etc like we did last season when the need arises. Personally I think we have the personnel to make 4231, 4411 & of course 442 work really well, but it's not a system which wins a game, it's all about the player's attitude, effort and the system is the icing on the cake.
dedlock Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Nice pass from Nuge.,well taken goal from Vardy. Vardy started wll last season, hope he will kick on this.
Jakemoore Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Great result, I'm still not convinced by that formation but that said, who am I to question NP
Guest shearfox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 It was always easy to knock Vardy, but he did start last season well and may have got better had it not been for injuries, Pearson sees he can do it, today is certainly a good start for Vardy to getting that belief in him from the fans as well.
Grewks Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Nice to hear us be fairly clinical. Both of our goals were good, with the only negative being the fact that neither of them were scrappy, unlike theirs. We do score some very good goals, but to be even better than last season we need to score some scrappy ones as well. Their goal was down to the new system in all honesty. Moore began to go with the man, but then left him to de laet, which he should not have done. We have 3 in the centre now, so the wide central defenders will should be dragged into covering out wide at times. In some ways the win today reminded me of cardiff and hull last season. Very average for large parts of matches, but found ways to win, something we need to do more of.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I keep watching Vardy's goal with a rapey grin on my chops.THAT'S THE GUY FROM THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS WE SIGNED FROM FLEETWOOD. G'won lad.
Guest shearfox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I keep watching Vardy's goal with a rapey grin on my chops. THAT'S THE GUY FROM THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS WE SIGNED FROM FLEETWOOD. G'won lad. Today was Vardy's best game in a City shirt, I'm sure he can keep this up could have had a second as well
cc_star Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Today was Vardy's best game in a City shirt, I'm sure he can keep this up could have had a second as well Even better than Blackburn away last season? He's clearly got the ability, he needs to kick on from today now & grow consistency - and hopefully with the fan's support rather than constant negative jibes he can do
kingfox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I bet Col's had a lovely day. A win for us & Emmanuel-Thomas scored on his Bristol City debut. Crack open a beer mate, you deserve it.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Proper game of two halves. I couldn't see us creating a chance, let alone scoring a goal in the first half. Credit to Pearson for his line-up and sticking with the formation, albeit I think the formation we played was more of a hindrance than a help. I don't think Konchesky is cut out for LWB.
Grewks Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I think Vardy struggled with the limelight last season. His role at Fleetwood in comparison to how we played him here was totally different. Today, from what everyone has said, he played like we expected him to last season, and i'm impressed he said that he did some work himself before pre-season, shows he is determined to succeed.

I think he will have a good season, he just seems like a natural goalscorer with pace. I'm glad Pearson has stuck by him and has given him another chance. Not once did I knock his inclusion today
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Deserved win on overall display. But first half was concerning. Grinding out a result is what you need to do in this league. Not convinced by 352 but am pleased by Vardy today. His goal was sublime
Guest ttfn Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Vardy was crap in the first half. Properly crap. Second half he was brilliant. Intelligent running, some lovely lay-offs and a great finish
somebum Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Bloody hell are you saddos still into this shit? Footballers are all *****! What idiots you are
ARM1968 Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Shit. Sorry. I thought this was the existential navel gazing forum.
dayday Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Great win for us and that has got my buzz back, the negavitity even got to me pre-season and for the first time ever I was not really looking forward to the new season. Pleased for Vardy, last season proved a big step up .. Yet his link up play with Nugent for his goal was brilliant and dare I say it they could be a lethal combination. As for Knockaert has he been tapped up?there is no way he would have been left out entirely unless he was carrying a knock.
Babylon Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Bloody hell are you saddos still into this shit? Footballers are all *****! What idiots you are You won't mind if I ban you then... ta ta.
Bert Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I wonder if Kingfox still wants to see Drinkwater fooked off. Made us tick second half.
